I love layering, I do it almost every day. I’m sure people would like a layering 101, me too I guess, but I kinda love that layering is this jazzy, no rules thing, I just go by trial and error of what smells good together and it’s so fun to experiment. And I love that by layering you get a real one of a kind signature scent
One tip is to make one of the scents you layer a more singular or simple scent, so that you don’t use two perfumes that are both super busy, complex and loud that fight each other
I just want to say that hearing you talk about the interpersonal play aspect of fragrance with friends, family, community is one of the things I love about your channel! Thanks for sharing these charming stories.
I absolutely love Not A Perfume!!! I layer it with almost any fragrance I have. The flip side, I’m just not fond of the super dose flanker. It’s supposed to be just one note but I get such a peppery sharp scent from it, almost metallic
Bought the travel size Not A Perfume and I've been using it almost everyday and it has a huge dent it in, so I'm def buying a full bottle! I find myself spraying it on top of my more harsher fragrances and it adds a sweet woody skin-scent to fragrances that are very peppery and masculine (By The Fireplace), or to those very old-school powdery cosmetic smelling perfumes that I'm not the biggest fan of.
Love this Chanel ! I saw her at ScentXplore this past December . I really didn’t know who she was but I am glad I found her Chanel. Love the way she describes fragrances … you can almost smell it 😊
JHAG Not a Perfume is my all time fave. You reminded me that I need to try Another 13. I would love to know more about your application techniques when layering fragrances. Love your channel and recommendations, and you’re a natural beauty! Thanks 🤍
Hi Olivia, I love your take on perfumes and your refreshing personality. since I'm very new to perfume, I'm always on the lookout for videos explaining the more technical side of things, like proper storage, spraying techniques etc. a layering technique video would be very helpful!
Love your taste in fragrance! Great suggestions! Tried Bianco latte based on your recommendation from one of your previous vids and it was love at first sniff. Your description is spot on and it’s absolutely amazing 😍 you’re not lying that it’s staying power is eternal!
I am very scent sensitive and heard about the Juliet has a gun no fragrance scent at sephora and was blown away. It didn't make me dizzy and I love it. I would love to see some videos for the scent sensitivity people who want to wear something but unaware of what's out there. Yes do the layering vid because it is interesting to me too
I'm thrilled to learn about the ambergris! I believe it was a favorite of one of King Henry's VIII wives, either KOA or Anne Boleyn. I bought some the synthetic immediately. Such a cool name too. I've been hunting for Monica Lewinsky's scent combo since I caught a whiff in 1998.
i’m a huge fan of jhag not a perfume. i love my bold floral and patchouli fragrances but im a musician and when i play in the orchestra i can’t wear heavy fragrances bc it irritates some musicians’ and makes it harder to play, especially the woodwinds. not a perfume is the perfect thing to wear on these occasions bc it gives me the little bit of a clean, slightly sweet touch without smelling perfumy and irritating my fellow musicians. also, for whatever reason, my skin seems to love this fragrance bc it lasts a very long time on me. love it! 😁
I wish you would do videos on how to WEAR perfumes for us starting our perfume collections. How do you spray them (show us please), how do you layer, are there rules for layering, etc.
I love layering perfumes too. I like to layer Oud for greatness with Kayali lovefest burning Cherry. It makes the last one lasts longer and the first one sweeter. Love this combo so much. Each time I try a new perfume and I found it too much, or if something bothered me in a perfume, I spray JHAG not a perfume on top of it and it changes everything into something I love. I really love this perfume. Now I really want to try le labo another 13 but it is hard to find in France. Thank you for this great vidéo !
Thank you so much for the suggestion! I purchased Sniffs Vow Factor and I’m not gona lie… I don’t like it buuuuuuut I paired it with Bianco Latte and “on me” isssaaaa YES Ma’am! I’m so happy now! 😊
I JUST got this delivered today.....This literally smells like a rosy orange creamsicle. Very light but "skin scent" IS in the name so yeah....I LOVE IT!!!!
You're making me think I need Not a Perfume... Could probably help me amp up certain fragrances I'm a little anosmic to (ex: La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto) or amp up the longevity of others. BTW, nice tattoos. Heck ya, layering ideas are very welcomed!!! Thanks for the video! 😄
Another 13 is a magical thing. I’m based in Singapore and got it cheaper via Selfridges, and I’ve heard Sharida (another fragrance reviewer) mention that some frags are cheaper for you guys in the States too if you purchase from Selfridges. Le Labo has since increased their prices however, so get em’ before another price increase happens!!
@@ashleytaylor2374 LOL. Again, really depends on how much it costs where you live. I purchased mine before the price increase. It was 360 SGD retail iirc, and 310 SGD on Selfridges. Now it's 410 SGD retail, and 340 SGD Selfridges. Still a significant difference where I live.
I do enjoy layering fragrances but would also love if you did a 101 on it as well. I hadn't thought about Red Dakota being a layering perfume. I usually pull out Milk from Ded Cool as my layering bestie from the house.
Argh I bought Juliette has a gun superdose and yes I agree that after like an hour you don’t really smell it on you but trust me people around you get it. And it lasts FOREVER on your clothes!!
It’s from Natasha Denona! Unfortunately, I don’t remember what pallet because I popped them all out of the pallet to make a massive pallet and it’s a total mess
I’d love to learn about layering frags, esp those that help some of my more masculine frags lean more femme… for ex, Lolita Lempicka’s Green Lover (something fresh floral & minty?) & Ameer Al Oudh’s Intense Oud (something to cut/mellow the smokiness?)… as well as what you recommend to layer with Choco Musk!
Weird question: do you find that insects are either repelled or attracted by certain smells? I’m reluctant to wear certain scents during specific seasons because of this reason. Any insight?
I know from personal experience clove is one spiders don’t tend to like & mint tends to deter wasps/bees but those were concentrated essential oils. Didn’t know if you had any perfumes/colognes which showed any antidotal or experiential displays of this as well.
I'm not much of a perfume layer-er mostly because I'm not sure how to pair them together. Is it like wine, where you pair certain scents together? 🍷🧀 🤝🍐🌸
It can definitely be intimidating, but you can always spray them onto a paper to see if you like it or test it on the back of your hand, and in case it goes bad you can wash it off 😂
Oh ya! Same here... I like my different fragrances for what they are and a little shy to mix and match... Lets just say I would only experiment combos if I knew I don't have to leave home for a few hours (same for when I sample).

I love how it customizes the scents!
Off topic but I freaking love your hair like this! You look GORGEOUS.
I just want to say that hearing you talk about the interpersonal play aspect of fragrance with friends, family, community is one of the things I love about your channel! Thanks for sharing these charming stories.
I just watched a video the perfume guy did on ambergris and he described it as dried whale poop:) No harm is done to the whale.
Once you start layering you simply can't stop!
I absolutely love Not A Perfume!!! I layer it with almost any fragrance I have. The flip side, I’m just not fond of the super dose flanker. It’s supposed to be just one note but I get such a peppery sharp scent from it, almost metallic
We are blown away by this Rami review, Olivia!! Thank you so much!🫶

a layering video would be fantastic!!

It absolutely took my breath away, what a masterpiece!

Olivia you should know GRANADO from Brazil! They are wonderful, if you have the opportunity I would love ❤
I love Escentric molecules 1+Iris and is gorgeous alone , but perfect for layering
Very nice tips, good for thinking another layering

I enjoy layering…seeing what new scents I can create! TFS

I loooooooove your channel! You are educating me, lol.
My new favorite combo for layering is Tom Ford Ombre Leather with Valentino Born in Roma ❤❤❤
Yes! I’m in for a layering video! 🎉 Wearing Kayali’s Eden Juicy Apple with Yum Pistachio today and loving it! 😉
WHAT A COMBOOOOO
I know this is an old video but can we get a list with the websites??? Thank you in advance I'm obsessed 🤩
I JUST got this delivered today.....This literally smells like a rosy orange creamsicle. Very light but "skin scent" IS in the name so yeah....I LOVE IT!!!!
Yes! Layering 101! Ty
Woohoo!!!
Would love a layering 101 video❤
I got you!
Love your videos Olivia ❤
I am waiting for that layering video. Being trying out your kayali ones, and they are 💣 💣 💣

ambre gris...i wore that all thru high school

So I checked and it's like a 15 dollar saving

Nice the Oliva factory
Not a perfume question. But your eyeshadow is gorgeous. Are you willing to share what is on your eyes?
It’s from Natasha Denona! Unfortunately, I don’t remember what pallet because I popped them all out of the pallet to make a massive pallet and it’s a total mess
U looking so beatiful😮
Beautiful ❤
Yeah, sure, I'd like to see a 101 layering perfumes video :)
On it!!
For me is woody/musky , and everybody loves when I wear Not a Perfume
I'd like a layering video
I would love a layering 101! I’m always afraid I’ll try a combo and end up smelling weird all day if it doesn’t work!

I actually just ordered Choco musk, once I get it, I will get it into the videos!
Glorious
Very nice
i have JHAG not a perfume but i’m really curious how it compares to escentric molecules molecule 02 ???? (the ambroxan one not the iso super e)
Come on with the layering 101 👍🏾😀👏🏽
J'dore is so good 🖤
Truly!!!
Good job
What can I layer with santal supreme to get closer to santal33?
"Medicine"
Mr. Olfactory, 2024
All jokes aside. I love your channel.
I have tried not a perfume from a sample and way before I knew anything about it. I get nothing.
This channel is going to be the downfall of my marriage😂😂 I have officially called down the Oliviaolafactory rabbit hole
Nice
I have vanilla bourbon by mix bar and it’s so masculine. How can I sweeten that up?
Funny I can’t wear any JHAG perfumes - they give me a pounding headache! I’m scared of them 🙁
Nice video
Weird question: do you find that insects are either repelled or attracted by certain smells? I’m reluctant to wear certain scents during specific seasons because of this reason. Any insight?
I have heard they are deterred by citrus fragrances, but I’m not certain if that’s accurate!
They definitely don’t care for citrus or eucalyptus-a lot of the “natural”/deet free repellents include them.
I know from personal experience clove is one spiders don’t tend to like & mint tends to deter wasps/bees but those were concentrated essential oils. Didn’t know if you had any perfumes/colognes which showed any antidotal or experiential displays of this as well.

Thanks Olivia! #fromAKwithlove
I'm obsessed with not a perfume. To me, it smells like the coolest girl you've ever met.
Nice baby
I HATE rollerballs also:))
