Because a move from orthodoxy is exactly why so many people walk away, and this is a channel dedicated to moving away from orthodoxy.Christianity hasn't changed, man's practice sure has though.

I love Dr. Heiser. It makes me sad that he is evidently in his last days on this earth fighting cancer. He is a teacher like no other, and I wish I had found him years ago instead of just last year. I believe that Michael has indeed saved many souls. Because when a person does not understand the Bible, he begins to have wrong ideas about it, to accept the ideas of detractors and to fall away from the faith. But when we manage to connect the dots, finally understand the true meaning thanks to Dr Heiser's teachings, everything suddenly makes sense, everything lights up. His death is a great loss. R.I.P. great man.
Dr. Micheal Heiser is a genius and his content has been overdue for Christians. I finally get things that never made any sense and was always told I ask to many questions. I don't feel so alone.

I highly recommend Unseen Realm. It is academic, but also very easy to read and understand. It has a lot of footnotes, but you can just ignore them on the first reading and maybe come back to them if you want to take it that next step toward academic study.
Christ rose from the dead, so why, (WHY) are still slaves? A very very small "group" of people slowly and painfully are waking up. Waking up with NO foundation of "faith". Most of them are not Christian or Jewish, but they are SEEING THEY ARE SLAVES. Why has nothing, (apparently) changed?

My experience in all the churches I’ve attended over 40+ yrs has been theology that is 8 miles wide & 1 inch deep… I was blessed to meet Josh McDowell less than a year after my salvation (1983)…That meeting set me on a journey of studying scripture & reading bible scholars concerning apologetics… The ever growing body of evidence for the resurrection & the reliability of the gospel accounts, in particular, galvanized my faith… Now my recent exposure to Michael Heiser’s work is profoundly exploded my understanding of scripture and how I read it… It is marvelous in my sight… Thanks be to God for the special gift of this man…
I honestly feel robbed that we aren't taught the exactly Truth in the church! How many more people would have been Saved if the entire Truth was told? I have my brother in mind when I say this. All I can do is spread the Truth going forward... It's just a shame that we have been robbed with information that to me is extremely important! Everything makes sense now...

Ever since hearing Dr Heiser I’ve found myself wondering how many, at any given point in time, there are spirit beings walking around on the planet. It’s kind of exciting, because it brings back an element of mystery that is sadly lacking in our western materialist empiricist culture.
I wouldnt say they are walking around, of course we dont know for sure. But from what we do read in the bible they would be flying or floating in the realm or other dimensions we cant see with our eyes or feel with our human senses

Remember the disciples came back to Jesus, saying that the demons fled from their rebuke, and Jesus said not to rejoice about that, but to rejoice that their names were written in heaven. Yes, its exciting that the western materialistic worldview is not all there is to reality, I suppose, if that is what one had previously believed... (I never did) but don't go chasing these other beings. Seek God. He is better. And He loves us, and is not out to steal, kill and destroy us and our destinies.

I just stumbled on this channel. It showed up in my YT stream so I listened to the program and subscribed to the channel in order to check out more content. My personal views of Michael Heiser's views differ, and even part ways at times. But he is far more educated than I am, and he never fails to encourage me to study more in order to concur with him, or find a different thought or idea of my own. I always ask The Holy Spirit guide me and help me discern truth from fiction, so I will continue to use that filter with any and all teachers/preachers I have found on this platform.
Bruh this stuff is blowing my mind. I listen to Eric Mason's preaching on his church's podcast, and he talks about some of this stuff in the spiritual warfare series. Crazy stuff man. The Bible is so wild and amazing!
It's certainly supernatural. The power of the bible is one of my cornerstones of belief. There's only about 800,000 individual words in the entire old+new testament, yet there's literally endless information crammed in there. Certainly supernatural. Praise the Lord!!!

Not very clear when the Hebrew Bible says turn back to God, ask forgiveness, stop sinning....and he will forgive you. Then Michael says that dying on the cross was needed for redemption. That's clear as mud.
@@zamiel3 Hi. I know this is a late response. Yes, the Hebrew bible does say that. However, animal sacrifices were required for Israel's sins. You see that over and over and over and over and over and over again in the scriptures. Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice. If you have any questions, I would recommend praying and reading Isaiah (this is pretty much the best text for Jesus prophesies and how they were fulfilled). Specifically, Isaiah 53. Today is my first time on this channel; not my first time hearing Dr. Heiser. I love that Dr. Heiser is being interviewed here. I wish that the interviewers would have interrupted him less; would have allowed him to complete thoughts a number of different times. I also HIGHLY RECOMMEND dr heiser's books, podcasts, and research in general. Imo, the greatest living Christian minds today are: heiser, john lennox, and ravi. I've been reading unseen realm in parallel with my bible. When the doc says, "you'll never read your bible the same way again", I cannot stress how real that statement was lol. Michael Heiser has been been a guiding light for me through my walk with Christ. I'm so grateful he helped me understand our Father, and His great plan for humanity.

I had a experience few years ago. I couldn’t sleep it was after one am. I went outside to smoke at time I was new age /catholic mixture. But heavy into spiritual work. Anyways I went outside to smoke a cig. Which I’m currently trying to quite. I got chills and I’ll feeling I heard steps on the leaves 🍁 crashing so I knew someone or thing was feet away from me. I heard a voice say “ he’s not real! I was thinking about our lord . I immediately put out cigarette went inside my home . From across the hall I heard a 5_6 hundred pounds heavy creature coming towards me. I could only hear him and since it. But couldn’t see it. I dropped to my knees got my Bible and tried to read it . Felt like immediately something STOPPED the thing that was coming for me. Feet away from it it got stopped. I believe it was saint Michael or a Angel that our lord sent to help me. I stopped all my spiritual thing witchcraft I was doing. And I just keep trying to be a better person. And get closer to my lord Yah Jesus Christ.
Wow! Yes, demons are real. But Angels are more powerful. God our Father gives them awesome strength. Keep reading the Bible. And try to memorize them. Not all at once. One verse at a time. Carry them n your heart. Where Satan can't snatch them. Because YOU claim that Scripture by faith, to your life.
I had something similar happen to be about footsteps on the leaves. I had it happen twice to me when I was taking my dog out to go to the bathroom. I heard footsteps in the leaves as if someone was walking up to me, but when I turned to see who it was, there was no one there, but I could still hear the sounds of leaves being stepped on. I got a creepy feeling, and quickly got myself and my dog inside the house. My dog didn't react to the sound the first time, but the second time it happened (maybe a month later) my dog reacted to the sound of something walking through the leaves but again I looked and there was nothing there. Both times it happened was later at night. Around 11:30 or Midnight. So far I haven't heard it since, but reading your experience just brought it back to me. I pray our Lord holds and keeps you safe! A few yrs ago, I exspiranced sleep paralysis, and saw 3 shadows and one wore a brimmed hat, and a trench coat. They were faceless. It felt evil, like I was being strangled. Then a few months ago, I was attacked in my bed, it was very violent. I held tight to my husband the rest of the night. I had to call in sick to work the next day, cause I had no energy. Never had I been so scared.

Nowhere does the Bible say angels appear in a body. Heck my experience and what the Bible teaches said otherwise. If they’re bodiless then I wouldn’t bump into them even while invisible. Angels fight in battles and you need some type of body to that. Paul talks about a spiritual body. It doesn’t say angels, but I think it can apply to them as well.
@@Bunni504 it can. Like we are 5old to be kind to everyone because there may be a time we are entertaining angels, or when God and two angels went into Lot's house with him and when the angels came down and mated with women and produced giants Would need bodies for these things.
I enjoy Dr. Michael Heiser greatly. But honestly guys, you don't have to completely rely on him. With a good bible translation, a Strong's Concordance, a journal for note-taking, and The Spirit of Truth (which you all have) you can figure out a lot of this on your own. Granted, I'm not working 60 hours a week and raising kids, so I have the time. Regardless, nothing beats reading it for yourself.
Well wen u have been raised in a church( which many in the west are) they teach u( or at least myself and many others) wen reading scripture , due to the churches worldview of to whom the Bible was written and the context I did not read it except from that worldview I was taught . Holy Spirit led me to Heiser to learn the truth on this and much more! God uses man( always has… in scripture as well) to get some of His messages across. I’ve NEVER heard a church teach on the truth of demons , angels and specifically the context into which scripture was written … written “ TO” us NOT” FOR” us. Did u listen to this? I really hope u did. As your comment make s it seem as you didn’t. So grateful to God for sending us( myself at least ) Heiser. Missler . Just am SOOO GRATEFUL. Didn’t mean any unkindness w/ this comment . What Dr. Heiser says about never reading the Bible the same way is so true. I haven't read the whole book yet.. but already I find my brain starting to listen differently in church and paying attention more. And even my thinking about the Greek pantheon of gods and demi-gods, Egypt's bizarre animal-human gods... suddenly shifts from, "Well, these were just myths and man trying to explain what they didn't understand" to "These could have been actual sightings, or oral recountings of actual events, of supernatural interactions with mankind." And maybe C.S. Lewis' science fiction trilogy and Tolkien's Silmarillian, are closer to ancient Middle Eastern understanding than the modern Western viewpoint?
Regarding a combined spiritual and physical realm: The Bible talks a whole bunch about more than 3 dimensions, Paul refers to the breadth, length, width and height of things for instance. Were also given examples, like when Jesus just "appears" in a locked room. Furthermore the Bible says "we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is", which is interesting. In short, im inclined to believe that man will receive an "upgrade" beyond 3(4) dimensions, enabling us to interact with the previously inaccessible spirit world.
At the end of the video they were talking about war against angels and demons....When I was coming out of the new age, and I came to Christ I heard with my ears one night a demon scream at me then I heard what sounded like some kind of sword like some angel or something pulled out and i heard it slash that entity....SO i do believe there is war going on we can't see. Maybe I was allowed to experience this to know i am under the protection of the ALMIGHTY GOD!
I've had a similar experience. It was like a dream I was driving down the road, and it was like I was no longer in my body. I was far above my car I saw a battle raging as far as the horizon. God said to me "They fight over you". I have no idea what it fully means.

Other spiritual encounters claims are exactly the same. The young boy who was possessed, based on the movie the exorcist... The priests who were literally there said at the end of the exorcism, saint Michael showed up to reclaim the boy, a great bright sword was used.

Such a bonus to be reading The Unseen Realm and have these podcasts where Dr. Heiser can synthesize key things which he covers in the book with more details and background info. I quite understand and share his excitement of discovery when you experience these "Ah HA!" moments which transform your understanding of what the Bible writers were actually thinking from their specific world view.
The description of the churches' turn to rationalism and sckeptism when the world is craving the supernatural makes me want to cry in a corner while rocking in the fetal position because it's so true. So very true. I reckon they don't believe the supernatural stuff unrelated to their own personal experience and look down on those who claim otherwise. The two different realms is slowing being defined for me little by little. I appreciate Heiser's insight because it is confirming and expanding on my fledging understanding of the spiritual realm. A chunk of the church, if not most, is missing out.

“Jesus becomes a cosmic life coach....” “Sunday school becomes a journal....” What a perceptive description of what today’s church has done with the Bible and Biblical thinking. It’s amazing how the church has parted ways with the message and mission of Christ.
True, and people need to snap out of it and realize that the adversary isn’t imaginary, but instead has a very well-funded, extremely well-organized and well-protected army of humans who do nothing but actively seek to “destroy and defile the name of Jesus Christ”, and “pour down a steady stream of vilification upon Christianity” (their own words). These people aren’t playing around. They take a death oath the serve Lucifer and carry out the aforementioned, while publicly they can claim to be anything they want, atheist, Muslim, Hindu, pagan, Buddhist, even Christian, all of which helps to deceive the masses into believing that every viewpoint is being represented, when in actuality, they are Luciferian. I’ve seen their handbooks and sometimes they even make them available in libraries, as if to openly mock the masses. They’ll outright tell of their plans, and when you point it out, the media-programmed parrots of the world will squawk out “Conspiracy Theory!”, along with “Tin Foil Hat”, “Satanic Panic”, “False Memory Syndrome”, “You Must Live In Your Mother’s Basement”, “Don’t Breed”, “Seek Help”, “Take Your Meds”, “Put Down The Crack Pipe”, blah, blah, blah, just a tired old tactic of attempting to avoid being exposed by mocking the timid and weak-minded into silence, and into refusing to review any evidence, no matter how many mountains of evidence there are, they’re somorogrammed, they actually believe their ideas are their own ..so, they do as they’ve been told, tossing out the ancient Tavistock/CoIntelPro phrases on command, ironically proving the point to everyone else (while totally blind to that very fact) by parroting exactly what they’ve been programmed to say. What dutiful little parrots they are in their mental cages, squawking up a storm while they think themselves the wiser. Professing themselves wise, they make themselves fools. And they let the whole world know about it as well. One of their many methods is to seek the best servants of Jesus Christ and blast them in any and all ways they can, including ritually. It helps to have the DNA code to specifically target an individual (there are patents for this, it’s no joke, either, your DNA is like your spiritual social security number, and notice the massive push to get your DNA profile done to “learn your ancestry”. The Bible says not to pursue endless genealogies. People think that some of them are anonymous tests when they get their DNA test done, but they usually pay for it and use devices that pretty much make any anonymity a joke. If you’re a child of God, you know all you need to know. You know where you came from and your ultimate ancestry. The rest is unimportant. Look how they get Mormons to build their genetic database for them. Unwitting pawns. There are reasons they want that work done, there are characteristics they seek, and telling Mormons it is critical work for God gives them plenty of free workers when they’d otherwise be quite willing to pay for the information they’d get. But their attitude is “why pay for what you can get for free?”, knowing that accuracy will be diligently maintained by those who think they’re earning a great spot in heaven...or as Mormons believe, on their own “planet” that they’ll get to rule (if they’re male, otherwise be prepared to be a breeder of spirit babies for your husband’s planet), which they believe God will give to those who earn it. These Luciferian groups plan and infiltrate anything the do with Jesus Christ and his people. They track anyone and have a profile for them, including weaknesses (the Mormons keep a profile of every house on earth, and use the feedback from their proselytizers to maintain them...just more unwitting pawns for Lucifer). Mormons are just a fleck of dust compared to their other organizations. They use all forms of media, universities, military, and so on to indoctrinate, socially engineer and track their prey. Social media has made it a breeze to track the thoughts and attitudes of everyone who participates, easy to profile them and target them. Cakewalk. Again, getting for free what they’d pay for, but if you can con people into doing it for you for their own selfish reasons, or convince them it’s for a good cause, then let the people think they’re getting a good deal while they unwittingly serve Lucifer. So, with churches who are Bible-believing, they will start up their own “Christian” churches, both small up to mega-churches; and they will send the enemy in to break up established ones, or at least disrupt them, and see how many they can lead astray. They have bottomless pockets of money, so that’s no object, but again, what they can get people to do for free, they will. The infiltrators may pretend to be Christian, they usually will claim Christianity in those cases, but they will often pit people against each other, hit on anyone they can, and try to undermine the pastor, even do silent rituals. It’s not to make people suspicious of newcomers (or those who have been there for years), but to just be aware, there are groups who actively seek to wipe the name of Jesus Christ off the face of the earth. Their death oath is no joke, either. If they fail to perform adequately and engage in the rituals the consequences can and will be carried out. For one group, their initiation and oaths are taken in Washington, DC, headquarered there, the district was founded and is run by them. They flaunt it, and it’s obvious to anyone who looks into the symbolism that they’ve placed...everywhere. Part of their oath includes drinking from a human skull and being embraced by a skeleton to reminyhe that “the cold arms of death may encircle them forever” if they fail in their duties. And these are world leaders, heads of major corporations, celebrities, the most influential and wealthy. People should ask themselves why they’d need or want to do all that if it weren’t deadly serious and very true. They have to be getting something very big out of it to give their life to it. Some of the most strongly processed atheists are actually Luciferian, but that can go for someone professing to be anything else, too. It’s part of the deception. You’ll see celebrities often say they had to “pay their dues”...if they only knew what lies behind that phrase. It’s a euphemism for a variety of very undesirable actions. You can’t fight an enemy that you refuse to acknowledge, and ignoring the enemy won’t make it go away, either. Be not ignorant of Satan’s devices. It’s time for God’s people to get active, and not warm the benches. The enemy is prowling and attacking from every vantage point. And we must be not just defending, but organizing and spiritually returning the attack. It must be on the spiritual level, because that’s where the real fight is, and our own puny physical efforts would be utterly pointless and not of God anyway.

I know this is a rather old video and Dr Heiser has since passed. But I feel compelled to express how grateful I am that God has led me to his teachings. I’ve been praying for a way to reorient my adult kids to the Bible and get them interested again in the kingdom of God. They accepted and were Baptized as kids but as with many young adults get caught up with the concerns of the world. In any case, as mentioned in this podcast todays humans especially young people are fascinated with the supernatural. And all of this information that is neglected in traditional church teachings could really provide a way in for those young people who are looking for something more than just the traditional Biblical stories. I’m going to let God guide me on doing just that with my kids. ❤
What Heiser taught is rarely found in church. And to get to the sources, you have to dig much deeper than what most pastors have time for. There’s also the issue of the modern church forgetting what was taught in the first 300 years of Christianity.
Dr Heiser does not "fill in the holes" you can not compare something to nothing! He may not realize it but he is a dispensationalist! You must learn to rightly divide to understand and that is exactly what he is doing. That is AWESOME!

Back in the late 70s, I was a teenager, freshly driving. I stopped for a broken down car because he was in my way to turn in on my road. My mother saw me and stopped in her car. It was odd. It ended up my father helping him get his car fixed..he ate supper with us. As he was leaving he gave me a small bottle he said was from the River Jordan as a thank you for helping. I've still got the bottle. Don't know if it's really from the Jordan River. It was already labeled Jordan River in Ink on some tape. Very odd experience.
I'd love for you guys to get into the topic of aliens/fallen angels. There is a great misunderstanding on this topic and I would think talking about this would definitely be worth it for everyone.
Angels are like epiphanies, eureka moments, flashes of wisdom, and answers that eventually appear due to thought processes having previously been put into motion. Something Dr. Heiser said that describes exactly what I set out to do when I started studying the Bible in earnest. I tried to toss out every thing I supposed I knew, and let the Bible speak for itself. I became convinced the Bible is true, but things weren't making sense, so I assumed the problem was with me. So, I needed to read the Bible on its own terms, understanding the culture and mythos that the Bible was written in. I came to some understanding with my own research, but NT Wright really kicked it up a notch for me. I've recently discovered Dr. Heiser and he's taking me to try another level. He has confirmed and expanded on my understanding in many ways, especially what I had suspected from Genesis 6. I simply must now read "Unseen Realms."
@Ronals Potts. I agree with you regarding NT Wright. If believers really want to dive deeply into God's word, Wright and Heiser will challenge your typical traditional was you may have been taught. Until a believer lets go of their tradition and gets into the mind of 1st century Jews and Old Testaments Jews, you will only understand things as if looking through a glass dimly. I disagree with Heiser about the Nephilim returning. He says the connection is only made with "being given in marriage" but others have argued that the WHOLE phrase including "eating and drinking" connects to Genesis 6 via the book of Enoch. Those hybrid giants were said to eat human flesh and drink blood after they couldn't be satiated on regular food.

When you discuss God saying that He "Uses" the Holy spirit as if the Holy Spirit were a commodity as God's disposal it indicates you have a theological error in your thinking when referring to God. Maybe I'm just a very simple peasant type person without the immense theological education of "Doctor" Heiser, but I know what the Church teaches and what it has always taught which is that the Holy Trinity is one of the three persons of the Trinity and that what is communicated by saying that God "uses" the Holy Spirit as as "thing" as opposed to a person is not what the Church teaches.
Awesome interview. I appreciate Dr. Heiser's percspective and insight. Learned some things as well. Regarding his sentiment on the understanding that many believers will not get to experience, I have though the same thing. It's a shame. The Bible is more supernatural than it seems. I believe that Michael has indeed saved many souls. Because when a person does not understand the Bible, he begins to have wrong ideas about it, to accept the ideas of detractors and to fall away from the faith. But when we manage to connect the dots, finally understand the true meaning thanks to Dr Heiser's teachings, everything suddenly makes sense, everything lights up. His death is a great loss. R.I.P. great man.

I highly recommend Unseen Realm. It is academic, but also very easy to read and understand. It has a lot of footnotes, but you can just ignore them on the first reading and maybe come back to them if you want to take it that next step toward academic study.

You are giving ordinary people that may never go to seminary, information that is only disseminated in seminary and giving it to us in a way thats totally understandable and for free! Well, the books aren't free, but much less than the cost of seminary and i would love to personally thank you for that.
My experience in all the churches I’ve attended over 40+ yrs has been theology that is 8 miles wide & 1 inch deep… I was blessed to meet Josh McDowell less than a year after my salvation (1983)…That meeting set me on a journey of studying scripture & reading bible scholars concerning apologetics… The ever growing body of evidence for the resurrection & the reliability of the gospel accounts, in particular, galvanized my faith… Now my recent exposure to Michael Heiser’s work is profoundly exploded my understanding of scripture and how I read it… It is marvelous in my sight… Thanks be to God for the special gift of this man…
I honestly feel robbed that we aren't taught the exactly Truth in the church! How many more people would have been Saved if the entire Truth was told? I have my brother in mind when I say this. All I can do is spread the Truth going forward... It's just a shame that we have been robbed with information that to me is extremely important! Everything makes sense now...

Ever since hearing Dr Heiser I’ve found myself wondering how many, at any given point in time, there are spirit beings walking around on the planet. It’s kind of exciting, because it brings back an element of mystery that is sadly lacking in our western materialist empiricist culture.

I just stumbled on this channel. It showed up in my YT stream so I listened to the program and subscribed to the channel in order to check out more content. My personal views of Michael Heiser's views differ, and even part ways at times. But he is far more educated than I am, and he never fails to encourage me to study more in order to concur with him, or find a different thought or idea of my own. I always ask The Holy Spirit guide me and help me discern truth from fiction, so I will continue to use that filter with any and all teachers/preachers I have found on this platform.

It's certainly supernatural. The power of the bible is one of my cornerstones of belief. There's only about 800,000 individual words in the entire old+new testament, yet there's literally endless information crammed in there. Certainly supernatural. Praise the Lord!!!

Not very clear when the Hebrew Bible says turn back to God, ask forgiveness, stop sinning....and he will forgive you. Then Michael says that dying on the cross was needed for redemption. That's clear as mud.
@@zamiel3 Hi. I know this is a late response. Yes, the Hebrew bible does say that. However, animal sacrifices were required for Israel's sins. You see that over and over and over and over and over and over again in the scriptures. Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice. If you have any questions, I would recommend praying and reading Isaiah (this is pretty much the best text for Jesus prophesies and how they were fulfilled). Specifically, Isaiah 53. I've been reading unseen realm in parallel with my bible. When the doc says, "you'll never read your bible the same way again", I cannot stress how real that statement was lol. Michael Heiser has been been a guiding light for me through my walk with Christ. I'm so grateful he helped me understand our Father, and His great plan for humanity.

I had a experience few years ago. I couldn’t sleep it was after one am. I went outside to smoke at time I was new age /catholic mixture. But heavy into spiritual work. Anyways I went outside to smoke a cig. Which I’m currently trying to quite. I got chills and I’ll feeling I heard steps on the leaves 🍁 crashing so I knew someone or thing was feet away from me. I heard a voice say “ he’s not real! I was thinking about our lord . I immediately put out cigarette went inside my home . From across the hall I heard a 5_6 hundred pounds heavy creature coming towards me. I could only hear him and since it. But couldn’t see it. I dropped to my knees got my Bible and tried to read it . Felt like immediately something STOPPED the thing that was coming for me. Feet away from it it got stopped. I believe it was saint Michael or a Angel that our lord sent to help me. I stopped all my spiritual thing witchcraft I was doing. And I just keep trying to be a better person. And get closer to my lord Yah Jesus Christ.

I had something similar happen to be about footsteps on the leaves. I had it happen twice to me when I was taking my dog out to go to the bathroom.
I heard footsteps in the leaves as if someone was walking up to me, but when I turned to see who it was, there was no one there, but I could still hear the sounds of leaves being stepped on. I got a creepy feeling, and quickly got myself and my dog inside the house.
My dog didn't react to the sound the first time, but the second time it happened (maybe a month later) my dog reacted to the sound of something walking through the leaves but again I looked and there was nothing there.
Both times it happened was later at night. Around 11:30 or Midnight. So far I haven't heard it since, but reading your experience just brought it back to me.

A few yrs ago, I exspiranced sleep paralysis, and saw 3 shadows and one wore a brimmed hat, and a trench coat. They were faceless. It felt evil, like I was being strangled. Then a few months ago, I was attacked in my bed, it was very violent. I held tight to my husband the rest of the night. I had to call in sick to work the next day, cause I had no energy. Never had I been so scared.

Nowhere does the Bible say angels appear in a body. Heck my experience and what the Bible teaches said otherwise. If they’re bodiless then I wouldn’t bump into them even while invisible. Angels fight in battles and you need some type of body to that. Paul talks about a spiritual body. It doesn’t say angels, but I think it can apply to them as well.

I enjoy Dr. Michael Heiser greatly. But honestly guys, you don't have to completely rely on him. With a good bible translation, a Strong's Concordance, a journal for note-taking, and The Spirit of Truth (which you all have) you can figure out a lot of this on your own. Granted, I'm not working 60 hours a week and raising kids, so I have the time. Regardless, nothing beats reading it for yourself.

Well wen u have been raised in a church( which many in the west are) they teach u( or at least myself and many others) wen reading scripture , due to the churches worldview of to whom the Bible was written and the context I did not read it except from that worldview I was taught . Holy Spirit led me to Heiser to learn the truth on this and much more! God uses man( always has… in scripture as well) to get some of His messages across. I’ve NEVER heard a church teach on the truth of demons , angels and specifically the context into which scripture was written … written “ TO” us NOT” FOR” us. Did u listen to this? What Dr. Heiser says about never reading the Bible the same way is so true. I haven't read the whole book yet.. but already I find my brain starting to listen differently in church and paying attention more. And even my thinking about the Greek pantheon of gods and demi-gods, Egypt's bizarre animal-human gods... suddenly shifts from, "Well, these were just myths and man trying to explain what they didn't understand" to "These could have been actual sightings, or oral recountings of actual events, of supernatural interactions with mankind." And maybe C.S. Lewis' science fiction trilogy and Tolkien's Silmarillian, are closer to ancient Middle Eastern understanding than the modern Western viewpoint?
Regarding a combined spiritual and physical realm: The Bible talks a whole bunch about more than 3 dimensions, Paul refers to the breadth, length, width and height of things for instance.
Were also given examples, like when Jesus just "appears" in a locked room. Furthermore the Bible says "we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is", which is interesting.
In short, im inclined to believe that man will receive an "upgrade" beyond 3(4) dimensions, enabling us to interact with the previously inaccessible spirit world.
At the end of the video they were talking about war against angels and demons....When I was coming out of the new age, and I came to Christ I heard with my ears one night a demon scream at me then I heard what sounded like some kind of sword like some angel or something pulled out and i heard it slash that entity....SO i do believe there is war going on we can't see. Maybe I was allowed to experience this to know i am under the protection of the ALMIGHTY GOD!

I've had a similar experience. It was like a dream I was driving down the road, and it was like I was no longer in my body. I was far above my car I saw a battle raging as far as the horizon. God said to me "They fight over you". I have no idea what it fully means.

Other spiritual encounters claims are exactly the same. The young boy who was possessed, based on the movie the exorcist... The priests who were literally there said at the end of the exorcism, saint Michael showed up to reclaim the boy, a great bright sword was used.

Such a bonus to be reading The Unseen Realm and have these podcasts where Dr. Heiser can synthesize key things which he covers in the book with more details and background info. I quite understand and share his excitement of discovery when you experience these "Ah HA!" moments which transform your understanding of what the Bible writers were actually thinking from their specific world view.
Does the book answer a lot of questions? Like where does it talk about God’s heavenly family and earthly family ?

The description of the churches' turn to rationalism and sckeptism when the world is craving the supernatural makes me want to cry in a corner while rocking in the fetal position because it's so true. So very true. I reckon they don't believe the supernatural stuff unrelated to their own personal experience and look down on those who claim otherwise.
The two different realms is slowing being defined for me little by little. I appreciate Heiser's insight because it is confirming and expanding on my fledging understanding of the spiritual realm. A chunk of the church, if not most, is missing out.
Maybe because we don't need to mess around with the spirit realm. It's ok to know about a little of it but to dwell greatly on it is not safe.
Great interview. Glad to find this channel as well. Agree with one commenter who was surprised that there are not more subscribers. Dr Heiser is so interesting and his book Unseen Realm finally made sense of some parts of the Bible I never understood before.
This channel is a bleesing that it gives satisfaction to listen and learn the word.. The hosts and the guests are principled and exceedingly competent in imparting the the exegesis of scripture
“Jesus becomes a cosmic life coach....” “Sunday school becomes a journal....” What a perceptive description of what today’s church has done with the Bible and Biblical thinking. It’s amazing how the church has parted ways with the message and mission of Christ.

True, and people need to snap out of it and realize that the adversary isn’t imaginary, but instead has a very well-funded, extremely well-organized and well-protected army of humans who do nothing but actively seek to “destroy and defile the name of Jesus Christ”, and “pour down a steady stream of vilification upon Christianity” (their own words). These people aren’t playing around. They take a death oath the serve Lucifer and carry out the aforementioned, while publicly they can claim to be anything they want, atheist, Muslim, Hindu, pagan, Buddhist, even Christian, all of which helps to deceive the masses into believing that every viewpoint is being represented, when in actuality, they are Luciferian.
I’ve seen their handbooks and sometimes they even make them available in libraries, as if to openly mock the masses. They’ll outright tell of their plans, and when you point it out, the media-programmed parrots of the world will squawk out “Conspiracy Theory!”, along with “Tin Foil Hat”, “Satanic Panic”, “False Memory Syndrome”, “You Must Live In Your Mother’s Basement”, “Don’t Breed”, “Seek Help”, “Take Your Meds”, “Put Down The Crack Pipe”, blah, blah, blah, just a tired old tactic of attempting to avoid being exposed by mocking the timid and weak-minded into silence, and into refusing to review any evidence, no matter how many mountains of evidence there are, they’re somorogrammed, they actually believe their ideas are their own ..so, they do as they’ve been told, tossing out the ancient Tavistock/CoIntelPro phrases on command, ironically proving the point to everyone else (while totally blind to that very fact) by parroting exactly what they’ve been programmed to say. What dutiful little parrots they are in their mental cages, squawking up a storm while they think themselves the wiser. Professing themselves wise, they make themselves fools. And they let the whole world know about it as well.
One of their many methods is to seek the best servants of Jesus Christ and blast them in any and all ways they can, including ritually. It helps to have the DNA code to specifically target an individual (there are patents for this, it’s no joke, either, your DNA is like your spiritual social security number, and notice the massive push to get your DNA profile done to “learn your ancestry”. The Bible says not to pursue endless genealogies. People think that some of them are anonymous tests when they get their DNA test done, but they usually pay for it and use devices that pretty much make any anonymity a joke. If you’re a child of God, you know all you need to know. You know where you came from and your ultimate ancestry. The rest is unimportant.
Look how they get Mormons to build their genetic database for them. Unwitting pawns. There are reasons they want that work done, there are characteristics they seek, and telling Mormons it is critical work for God gives them plenty of free workers when they’d otherwise be quite willing to pay for the information they’d get. But their attitude is “why pay for what you can get for free?”, knowing that accuracy will be diligently maintained by those who think they’re earning a great spot in heaven...or as Mormons believe, on their own “planet” that they’ll get to rule (if they’re male, otherwise be prepared to be a breeder of spirit babies for your husband’s planet), which they believe God will give to those who earn it.
These Luciferian groups plan and infiltrate anything the do with Jesus Christ and his people. They track anyone and have a profile for them, including weaknesses (the Mormons keep a profile of every house on earth, and use the feedback from their proselytizers to maintain them...just more unwitting pawns for Lucifer). Mormons are just a fleck of dust compared to their other organizations. They use all forms of media, universities, military, and so on to indoctrinate, socially engineer and track their prey. Social media has made it a breeze to track the thoughts and attitudes of everyone who participates, easy to profile them and target them. Cakewalk. Again, getting for free what they’d pay for, but if you can con people into doing it for you for their own selfish reasons, or convince them it’s for a good cause, then let the people think they’re getting a good deal while they unwittingly serve Lucifer.
So, with churches who are Bible-believing, they will start up their own “Christian” churches, both small up to mega-churches; and they will send the enemy in to break up established ones, or at least disrupt them, and see how many they can lead astray. They have bottomless pockets of money, so that’s no object, but again, what they can get people to do for free, they will. The infiltrators may pretend to be Christian, they usually will claim Christianity in those cases, but they will often pit people against each other, hit on anyone they can, and try to undermine the pastor, even do silent rituals. It’s not to make people suspicious of newcomers (or those who have been there for years), but to just be aware, there are groups who actively seek to wipe the name of Jesus Christ off the face of the earth. Their death oath is no joke, either. If they fail to perform adequately and engage in the rituals the consequences can and will be carried out. For one group, their initiation and oaths are taken in Washington, DC, headquarered there, the district was founded and is run by them. They flaunt it, and it’s obvious to anyone who looks into the symbolism that they’ve placed...everywhere. Part of their oath includes drinking from a human skull and being embraced by a skeleton to reminyhe that “the cold arms of death may encircle them forever” if they fail in their duties. And these are world leaders, heads of major corporations, celebrities, the most influential and wealthy. People should ask themselves why they’d need or want to do all that if it weren’t deadly serious and very true. They have to be getting something very big out of it to give their life to it. Some of the most strongly processed atheists are actually Luciferian, but that can go for someone professing to be anything else, too. It’s part of the deception. You’ll see celebrities often say they had to “pay their dues”...if they only knew what lies behind that phrase. It’s a euphemism for a variety of very undesirable actions.
You can’t fight an enemy that you refuse to acknowledge, and ignoring the enemy won’t make it go away, either. Be not ignorant of Satan’s devices. It’s time for God’s people to get active, and not warm the benches. The enemy is prowling and attacking from every vantage point. And we must be not just defending, but organizing and spiritually returning the attack. It must be on the spiritual level, because that’s where the real fight is, and our own puny physical efforts would be utterly pointless and not of God anyway.

I know this is a rather old video and Dr Heiser has since passed. But I feel compelled to express how grateful I am that God has led me to his teachings. I’ve been praying for a way to reorient my adult kids to the Bible and get them interested again in the kingdom of God. They accepted and were Baptized as kids but as with many young adults get caught up with the concerns of the world. In any case, as mentioned in this podcast todays humans especially young people are fascinated with the supernatural. And all of this information that is neglected in traditional church teachings could really provide a way in for those young people who are looking for something more than just the traditional Biblical stories. I’m going to let God guide me on doing just that with my kids. ❤

What Heiser taught is rarely found in church. And to get to the sources, you have to dig much deeper than what most pastors have time for. There’s also the issue of the modern church forgetting what was taught in the first 300 years of Christianity.

Back in the late 70s, I was a teenager, freshly driving. I stopped for a broken down car because he was in my way to turn in on my road. My mother saw me and stopped in her car. It was odd. It ended up my father helping him get his car fixed..he ate supper with us. As he was leaving he gave me a small bottle he said was from the River Jordan as a thank you for helping. I've still got the bottle. Don't know if it's really from the Jordan River. It was already labeled Jordan River in Ink on some tape. Very odd experience.

Angels are like epiphanies, eureka moments, flashes of wisdom, and answers that eventually appear due to thought processes having previously been put into motion. Such revelations come to us unexpectedly sometime later, in the middle of the night or in a dream perhaps when our minds are not cluttered with too much nonsense.

Far more than an epic story , its an epic LOVE STORY.
Something Dr. Heiser said that describes exactly what I set out to do when I started studying the Bible in earnest. I tried to toss out every thing I supposed I knew, and let the Bible speak for itself. I became convinced the Bible is true, but things weren't making sense, so I assumed the problem was with me. So, I needed to read the Bible on its own terms, understanding the culture and mythos that the Bible was written in.
I came to some understanding with my own research, but NT Wright really kicked it up a notch for me. I've recently discovered Dr. Heiser and he's taking me to try another level.
He has confirmed and expanded on my understanding in many ways, especially what I had suspected from Genesis 6.
I simply must now read "Unseen Realms."

@Ronals Potts. I agree with you regarding NT Wright. If believers really want to dive deeply into God's word, Wright and Heiser will challenge your typical traditional was you may have been taught. Until a believer lets go of their tradition and gets into the mind of 1st century Jews and Old Testaments Jews, you will only understand things as if looking through a glass dimly. This is 2018. But now, they have physically encountered giants, in not only antactica but marines have encountered them in afghanistan, where some have battled with red haired giants.
Last May the Angel Raquel came to me while I was sleeping outside and my totally shattered spine was fully healed the next day. It was Austin TX and I didn't realize they were real and had wings with feathers. I saw it in real life. It imparted info to me as well.

I disagree with Heiser about the Nephilim returning. He says the connection is only made with "being given in marriage" but others have argued that the WHOLE phrase including "eating and drinking" connects to Genesis 6 via the book of Enoch. Those hybrid giants were said to eat human flesh and drink blood after they couldn't be satiated on regular food.
Interesting thought. Ill ask him about it when he comes back on in December.

Man, he really hooked me in with this one, especially when he says, I don't have any original thoughts, this man is literally just compiling information from thousands od years, and using the text to talk about stuff we just don't hear about it church. You ever just want your church or your buddies to listsn to a sermon, read a book , watch a youtube video that you saw. I wished all Christians could read his book. When you discuss God saying that He "Uses" the Holy spirit as if the Holy Spirit were a commodity as God's disposal it indicates you have a theological error in your thinking when referring to God. Maybe I'm just a very simple peasant type person without the immense theological education of "Doctor" Heiser, but I know what the Church teaches and what it has always taught which is that the Holy Trinity is one of the three persons of the Trinity and that what is communicated by saying that God "uses" the Holy Spirit as as "thing" as opposed to a person is not what the Church teaches.
Awesome interview. I appreciate Dr. Heiser's percspective and insight. Learned some things as well. Regarding his sentiment on the understanding that many believers will not get to experience, I have though the same thing. It's a shame. The Bible is more supernatural than it seems.
