In all seriousness I watched this and loved every minute of it. Boss Wooldridge is the quintessential good guy and motivator. Even when he admits he could've done some things better in life it is for our benefit as listeners. Thank you for your service Boss and glad you were there!
I saw it in the theater today (Friday, 5/17). Please... do NOT wait for this come to Prime Video. Seeing it on an IMAX screen often makes the plane look life-sized. This should win an award for cinematography. Its a great look at the entire team, from the pilots that get all the ooohs and aaahs to the crews that enable the planes to get off the ground. The only thing missing was the smell of jet exhaust.
I just saw it today and couldn’t agree more. Definitely worthy of cinematography awards and the discussion with the aviators and support crew was excellent. Could be nominated for best documentary. It will be going to Amazon Prime but I couldn’t agree more about watching it on IMAX. J.J. Abrams also was able to film the first time a 360 degree diamond formation being completed by the Blue Angels.
Thank you for your service and dedication. Eventually Blue Angels were shown at AMC theaters in Nashville; but sadly not in Imax. I saw twice in theatres Friday and Saturday 24 and 25 May. What Boss has reveled was amazing. How humble. "What am I? ", the statement "Glad to be here.", and "The ruthless pursuit of Perfection. "Somewhere on way to perfection, excellence is achieved.".
I just watched this movie and it was AMAZING! Learned so much about the men and women who fly and support these jets! I am an Air Force brat, but my 1st love is and always has been the Angels!
Thank you for getting the word out! Saw at at imax today. The filming was peerless the story was perfect. This is without question the FINEST aviation film in history! Unbelievable shots! The solo's high aoa was a study in aerodynamics frankly all of the flying scenes shot from the squirrel beggar belief. Thank you for sure beautiful and honest work!
I saw it when it opened first day. Outstanding cinematography and great storyline with honest BTS looks at the day to day operations and how the entire Blue Angel Team hone their skills. I’m seeing it again at the IMAX theater. And it’s cool that Greg Wooldridge grew up in my home town of Cincinnati.
I can't wait to see this. It will be a Mesmerising Ride whilst in the Comfort of a Theatre. It just Reinforces my Regard & Respect I have for these People who keep us so Entertained at Air Shows no matter where you you come from. I'm from Australia & I have seen these Guys Do their thing & it is just amazing stuff. Brilliant Guys. Regards
Saw the documentary in the theater last night and it was spectacular! Absolutely amazing cinematography and audio work, great soundtrack, and awesome storytelling following outgoing and incoming team members. Loved the look behind the blue curtain into everything the whole organization puts into their mission! Bravo!
So glad you posted this video. I had no idea this documentary was coming out. As soon as I say it, I bought tickets to take my 9yr. old son to see it in IMAX tomorrow! He is beyond excited!
Fantastic interview! I remember watching the original documentary with Dennis Quaid many many years ago, back then that was fascinating as well to see the inner workings of the Blues organization. I am looking up imax locations now!
👍great stuff. As soon as I saw the preview about this film, I AM THERE , I will see it in IMAX. I wish it would stay longer than one week in the theaters. So more people get the chance to see it. Thanks,
So great…Loved to watch it in Imax …But besides we have multiple imax theaters here in the Netherlands …..they are not showing it…so sad !!! So for me it will be amazon . Loved the podcast…keep it going
Saw it on Sat (05.18). You are doing yourself a disservice if you stream this documentary. Watch it on an IMAX screen and appreciate segments shot at a 1000 frames/sec.
I have a press photo of the Blues from 1991, flying delta over Annapolis, and "signed" (looks like stamps) by all of the Blues team from that year. Rug Dance flying the lead. I didn't make the connection until seeing the Doc. Very cool
7:06 thinking this plane will be in the Digital Combat Simulator almost gives me the chills because my father is a A7 Retired pilot from the Portuguese Air force in Lages field Azores. tx for this interview was pure Gold, well is better than Gold because is about human desires and feelings
Blue Angels is really limited release here in Arkansas; we're going over to Little Rock's IMAX on the 20th (out of state during the weekend). Can't wait!
Great interview. My question is, a few years back a series of videos were posted on FB about a Year in the Life of the Blue Angels, which I enjoyed very much. Aside from being on IMAX, how does the new documentary differ from the previous?
Watched this on Prime last night. With my former life as a Navy Man on a carrier, USS Ranger CV-61 in V-3. This was 91-93. The first Top Gun Movie. After watching this I said to my partner THIS IS A HUGE RECRUITMENT SHOW.
This is so intense. After listening to this incredible guest, was on fire to get to IMAX to see the movie ASAP this week. But there is a problem. The only MAX in all of Silicon Valley, California is MAX DISAPPOINTMENT‼️ Trying to locate the film on an IMAX what has turned out to be so amazing is there is only ONE (1) IMAX theater in the entire San Francisco Bay Area population 8.5 Million that is showing this film. And it’s over by Oakland offramp where nobody wants to go anymore due to broad daylight crime. The other San Francisco Bay Area IMAX theaters THREE (3) available are all showing Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. Now isn’t that profound‼️ Prrhaps feeling the pinch of a certain political persuasion in our region.
As a seasoned pilot of 2 decades in the big C-172… did he say 18:15 “go upside down and don’t push the stick forward?” So is the stick always having back pressure and you just “release” back pressure??? So, you’re constantly pulling back the “whole time”???
To get the feel and the ability to fly inverted without driving the fly-by-wire computers crazy we asked the Navy Flight Test folks at Patuxent River to devise something for us. In this case it was four "screen door" springs that pull the stick toward the instrument panel with about 40 lbs of force. So when we rolled inverted we simply had to released a little back press on the stick. Worked like a champ. A seemingly simple solution to a challenging problem. Thanks for watching the movie! Greg Wooldridge, old Boss and an executive procure of the movie.
Also just returned from the Imax... Wow! Superb footage and great story. Did I miss Rugdance's callsign being put up on screen...? If they have a callsign of the world's worst genocidal dictators on screen (stalin), surely Rugdance is insignificant.😁
A rug dance is what you do when you screw up and have to see the boss. "Well, uh you see skipper, at the time... and then.... well um..." the better the story the more innovative the punishment.

Where did you see? Was told that Blue Angels were not going to be shown in IMAX theaters in Nashville, Tennessee.

My BOSS in the Blues! Great BOSS!
Saw it last night. When the formation was less than 12 inches, WOW! Most movies don't need to be in 3D, but if only they shot it in 3D...

Thanks. This is our seventh year of keeping it going--hopefully a couple more at least!
Yep, had to see it twice! A real lesson in stepping up my game in general.
25:14 that rudder and stick sync is just outstanding, the plane didnt roll even 1 degree
I loved it !!!! THANK YOU !!
Hope this comes out on 4K and Blue Ray disk. Watched it on Prime already.
That was awesome! Great job...

This was one of the coolest films I've ever seen! I was blown away with the magnificent footage! Hope they do a Thunderbirds next... 💯💯💯
Thank you for producing timeless film. Was this film to be shown in IMax, Boss' thoughts were humbling and wise beyond his rank.
Just saw it! Totally worth it..but wish it was shown in IMAX 70MM
That was very entertaining. Thanks. If only we had an IMAX theater.
Bummer.

this is GOLD. and maybe because of Captain Greg 8 countries have the F-18

Does anyone know if you can find footage of all the blue angles even the f8f bear cat?
Same with the thunderbirds
22k views, 121k subscribers but only 500 likes in two weeks?
So we found out the SU27 is a good airplane but it isn’t as nimble as the NATO and the aircraft system was comparatively archaic
Any chance you'll replace Jello?
