Great review video. Your 3 are part of the reason I bought mine and love mine. You just need to change your grinder now. Niche zero grinder is a must!! How did you miss the cord storage. 😊😃 I just love the simplicity and near professional build of the machine for home use. It has to be the best at the price point.
Thanks Adrian! You are absolutely right about the grinder. The SGP is okay but produces too many coffee clumps!! I have been trying to get a Niche Zero for months. This is such a mission. I assume you got one? It took me 3 months to realise that there is a cable storage... 🤦 I am with you on that one, it has to be the best at that price. I still don't know why this coffee machine is underrated.
Hi, yes I have a niche zero - black. Was lucky enough to be reading about it before it got really popular so no waiting list for me. Well worth the wait if you want one. I'm no expert but didn't like the constant speed changes of the SGP. The niche zero is much less gimmicky when you want espresso 90 percent of the time.
Oh Adrian, i really want a niche zero and have been trying for month but not luck atm...let me know if there are any video ideas that you would be interested to see.
@@TheFrenchReview there's only one colour and as Henry said it has to be Black!!! White is just too...... White🤓 I didn't like the slight hunting sounds coming from the SGP as it sounded like it was sometimes struggling which I believe slightly effected consistency. For me the nich is simpler and more repeatable but at the price the SGP will be good for a lot of people.
@@TheFrenchReview I currently have the Gaggia Brera. It gets the job done but i really want to upgrade to the Dual Boiler. I've heard semiautomatics produce better espresso. And after A LOT of research, I've decided that when the time comes, it's going to be the Dual Boiler. 🙂
I do love the Dual Boiler and it comes with so many features, which is incredible for that price. This has been my best coffee machine so far. You are going to really enjoy it. Where are you based? You can often have 25% up to 50% discount with Sage in the UK. Funny enough, I have managed to get an old Gaggia Classic. I am currently using it for my daily fix of caffeine.
@Ron Campbell, I'll make sure to do the same. Last year they did 50% off around July/August. If I hear anything I'll let you know. Which grinder do you use for your Gaggia Brera?
Hi, great vid. I've recently bought a DB and it's great but very loud, especially when piling empty shots and using the water. Have you found this as well? Not sure if there is something wrong with my machine or whether it is supposed to be like this.
Hey Jasdeep, Thanks. How loud are we talking? Would you be able to send me a quick video? My benchmark is the Barista Express and the DB should be quieter.
@@TheFrenchReview thanks for getting back to me. I'm not sure how I can share a video with you so I've just uploaded one to my you tube page. It's the only video there. Would be good to know your thoughts. Thank you.
Thanks for the heads up Nick, you are absolutely right. Good call! If there are any video ideas you would be interested to see let me know. Which setup do you have? Still trying to get a niche zero but those grinders are really hard to get these days...
@@TheFrenchReview I'm rocking the BDB + Niche. I just got my NZ in last month's batch. Like I mentioned in a different thread, if you join their mailing list, they send out an email a few days before they drop the pre-orders on Indegogo.
@@TheFrenchReview or maybe I didn't post that on another thread. I thought I'd posted it on Adrian Smith's comments, but I'm not seeing my reply there now. 🤷♂️
@@TheFrenchReview I got the black NZ. So far I love it, although I'm definitely still getting used to the full stepless adjustments. Previously I had a Sette 270wi. I think the macro/micro adjustments are easier to dial in because small adjustments don't have as big of an impact as with the Niche. That being said, I love the look of the Niche and how quiet it is. Plus the output is fluffier and the taste in the cup is fuller and more nuanced.
Hey SVM, hope you are well. I am with you on that one. Did you have a Barista Express prior to the dual boiler? That was my case and thought it was tricky to fill the water thank with the Dual Boiler. It is so easy. How are you finding the Dual Boiler?
Simple: because it gives you FULL flow control over your shot, allowing you to experiment with different pressure profiles. With it, you basically now own a machine that has the same features as something that'd otherwise cost upwards of $2500+ (think the Lelit Bianca). Add the rotary pump mod to it and you literally have a machine that has all the same features as anything you can find on the market for less than $3k. You'd basically have to jump up to the Decent at that point if you wanted an upgrade.
C'est pire qu'un nouvel ordinateur It is underestimated, because the instructions for use are non-existent or unclear 👎. I've had this machine for two weeks, and despite watching hundreds of videos, I haven't been able to access this problem : sometimes the machine makes me a coffee at 6 bars pressure, other times at 10 bars, and I still don't understand where my (probable) mistake comes from. My Nespresso is simpler 🤣. It's worse than a new computer

IMHO the best feature of Sage Dual Boiler is possibility to fill tank from the front...

Great video, which was your favourite feature?
The auto-start function, best feature by far :)
I would say my favourite feature is the front filling of the water reservoir. 😃
The simple slayer mod is the best "feature" by far! 😉
