    JACK!!!!! I RAN ACROSS THIS ON ACCIDENT.. maybe on purpose .. you all give this man what he deserves truly one of the sweetest angels and he got me into rock hunting!

    There is a whole valley of calcidoney at the # 1 fishing hole off of the Verde River and Sagonite fire agate on the cliffs above.Petrified fish made of fire agate have been found in the caves in the cliffs above the valley.True story .Been there and seen it.Just north of Sheeps Crossing and Red Wash in Bloody Basin Arizona.Good luck .Pieces of bacon all over man!

    Nice Jack the stones are actually formed as a gas bubble in molten silica. The gas content determines the colors. Jack is correct often the best color is just a few layers under the white quartz cap. The silica solutions flowed into cracks in the host rock and solidified. Nice video. Join a local Rock club you won't be sorry.

    Would you say you could find these agates all the way up to the top of the mountain from the road or are they more concentrated toward the bottom of the mountain where the road is at?

    You'd be better with a trash picker uper stick. Or a stick with a metal rod for a point when you flip rocks. Easier on the back.
    Ck out one of my videos to see what I'm talking about. I use mine to flip flint
