Hey Caliber, awesome video! I wanted to ask y, can i handle LBP 1 with a rtx 2060 (with ryzen 7 3750h 4 core 2.3 ghz and 16 gb ddr4 ram)? If yes, if i enable strict rendering mode, will i fix all the missing effects? and at what cost of performance? (sorry for my english, i'm a pizza guy :D)
Not sure how AMD processors perform on RPCS3 but I heard its usually a lot worse than on Intel, but that may no longer be the case anymore. Your graphics card will be more than enough, and enabling strict rendering mode lowers performance by maybe about 20%, but does usually fix everything broken graphically. Although as of now there's nothing really left that strict rendering mode can fix, I think even the gas isn't invisible anymore without it turned on.
@@mk_reed6006 Those are both mobile processors right? I can't find much info about either of those processors but considering the the clock speed and the fact that they're mobile I'd have to assume neither will perform all that well versus a desktop processor. @@wd3zxxc023 Yep. @@reallyweeby5529 RPCS3 works the same as a ps3. Anything that works on PS3 will theoretically work on RPCS3, but with mixed results. So basically, yes, likely.
Looks good! I have two questions tho. 1. Can you get DLC? 2. Can you play online or dive-in or even have the ability to play the community levels for that matter?
You can get DLC if you have the .edat files or mod the game. You can't play online (yet) or connect to the LBP servers, but you can download community levels and play them on the emulator via level backups.
I know but it requires you to use an older build of RPCS3 from when LBP was a broke mess, so there's no point trying to boot it from that build even if it is from the XMB
It's amazing to see, that emulation can be a better a better experience than on the original hardware. Loading times are much faster, colors are more vibrant and in case of this game, it has better performance. Even if you would install an SSD into a PS3 the CPU won't keep up the speeds of SSD so the loading times might be as fast as with an HDD. Still not worth buying an expensive CPU and buying many new expensive parts for this performance. Usually used PS3s go around for 50-80€.
There's a lot more you can do with expensive hardware than just play LBP though, so its still worth it depending on if you wanna do other stuff that requires a good pc
Visit the RPCS3 forums and look at how people have theirs set up. Unless RPCS3 is explicitly telling you otherwise, it's most likely an issue with your graphics settings and not the ISO/PKG. Also, make sure you have strict rendering enabled. Many people have stability issues without it.
I noticed during the chase scene in the wedding level that in the RPCS3 version the bride riding it is actually buitl differently? The one in RPCS3's knees moves and her waist wobbiles while the one on Ps3 is jsut a piston moving the feet and the RPCS3 one also missing gas ofc.
It can if you're hardware is up to it, you'll have the best chance of getting all the way to 60fps in the pod but the game would be going at x2 speed too so it's not really all that playable.
on a gt1030 2gb video card, this works at barely 29 fps! and the processor is 6/12 cores - the control is also late, the game is very hard! and this is the latest version of the emulator 0.0.26-14684
The CPU core count doesn't matter much for RPCS3, what matters a lot more is the brand, generation, and clock speed of the CPU. Any current or last gen Intel mid range processor should do fine for emulating the LBP games, I recommend against AMD since they generally seem to perform a lot worse than Intel CPUs on RPCS3 specifically. And even though PS3 emulation doesn't require a powerful graphics card, a GT1030 is probably not ideal, though I'm not sure how much it's actually affecting your performance if at all. It would also be good to make sure you're using all the best settings for performance, e.g. Strict Rendering Mode off, Write Color Buffers off, etc. Keep in mind some settings will sacrifice accuracy for performance.
