Google, in the podcast you said that if ENOUGH people made enough noise, the issue would probably be looked into. This is us making noise about the missing thumbnails. We've been making noise on Google Search help - our thread got shut down. We opened a new thread which is now tagged as a trending issue - yet, no help. We made a lot of noise on X - we never get a response. There are literally thousands of bloggers affected by this. Please, do us the courtesy to respond to us. Together with the devasting updates, this is just the last straw for many people. It really does feel like Google doesn't care about anyone anymore.

@@MarethaCorbett I second this. I'm tired of looking for places to make noise. Google... are you listening?

The issue with missing image thumbnails in search results remains unresolved. It started on Jan 30, 2024, and persisted until Feb 8, then recurred from Mar 17 to today-over 2 months. This affects all our visibility, CTR, and rankings, causing a competitive disadvantage! Again, we ask you to resolve this bug! 8 Search results on page 1 - and we are the only one without a thumbnail...How can you compete with that?

It's very disappointing to hear you say the images in SERPs are not important enough to address. For site owners, it is very important and you're essentially manipulating CTR showing images for some sites and not for others. Either show images for all sites or show images for none, but disappearing images for a single site for every post is not a fair way to treat website owners.

When you spoke of the missing images in the SERPS - Were you referring to the thumbnails that have been missing for many sites for the last three months? That then sounds like this is of no concern to Google to fix because it doesn't affect the 'user experience' enough?
This is quite painful to hear, from a site owner perspective. Our traffic's dropping and with that rankings too. If some images are randomly missing from SERPS, fine, but why does this have to affect all the same sites, so NONE of their images are showing, ever?
Indirectly this does affect the user experience. Many of these posts are high ranking, popular, good posts, but users miss out on them because they would rather click on the ones above or below where they can see a picture? As a user myself, I would be pretty annoyed too if quite a few of the images of say, a recipe, are missing because it's a quick reference of whether you want to click on the link or not.

It makes no sense that Google wouldn't make a call that SERPs images not displaying for an entire owner's site is not a problem. We rank in #1 position, yet the SERP thumbnail is missing consistently. I am seeing a huge disparity in CTR as a result, users are ignoring my #1 content in favour of the #2, #3 and beyond spots because they DO have thumbnails - I can see this clearly in Search Console. To disregard this and claim it makes no difference to a user's experience just doesn't add up. I would appreciate a fix so that as a small independent business, I can compete on somewhat of a level playing field.

Missing images DO affect user experience. Users are enticed by photos and when photos are missing, they are missing out on high-quality content because they won't click on it. Google purports to elevate the best-quality content for its users, but if it's not showing all thumbnails equally, it's not achieving that objective.

Since one week ago any newly published article can not be indexed due to redirect error, I think it is a general issue. So should I stop publish until the end of this issue.
