They keep pushing these, "Evil isn't so evil and Good isn't so Good" themes and terrible stories with bad plot structure on Children and if kids are watching that stuff they forget the love and fantasy of storytelling and entertainment. Blocking out the boredom with nihilism and drugs.... oops im projecting....
They’re just trying to preach their religion. All that matters is how they feel and what they think and how everyone else is wrong and reality is whatever they pretend it to be.
That type of idea can work if you're willing to write it well, which the writers of this show can't do, and what becomes of it is an agenda pushing type of show
“Writers write a Sith perspective stories” Buffoons: “Oh no! But we can’t have a Sith story! It’s not like we ever had that in EU before with SWTOR or Darth Plagueis or Darth Bane.
@ilyte1 But their version of "nuance" is more like a cliche or tired out theme with several movies back to back to back. Not even realistic or relatable, just cringe worthy and pitiful. Just "Demonstrate" other ideas that inspire kids, not depressing or boring them into a glorified lessons that nobody cares about anymore.
I think i finally put together why that line, " its about power and who can wield it" bothers me so much. These people dont care if good or evil is being done by those in control. They only care about the perception that the correct people hold power, regardless of what is done with said power. I cant help feeling this is a result of the 'relatable villain' trope and these people frying their brain to the point they xan no longer recognize that evil comes in all forms, skin tones, and sexualities
It's also a dedication to Neitschze and Marxist dichotomies - modern Marxism has moved past economic classism to whatever power dynamic they can get their hands on. For instance, just replace "power" with "oppression" in the quote, and it won't sound that far away from some CRT manifesto. It's all the same stuff repackaged again and again and again.
"when anakin killed a bunch of children, was it good or bad, i mean whos to say? where would one even begin to draw the line between killing kids, and not killing kids"
Apparently back during the Nightmare on Elm Street saga, some of us were ironically rooting for Freddy and some of us were unironically rooting for him.
Can we be honest? The Acolyte was made for a handful of people. Leslie, K.K. and their own tiny clique. So, it wasn't made for me either or the vast majority of humans on Earth.
American media "nuanced takes" generally end up being a character doing horrible shit, being completely selfish but they have a tragic sob story as background. I doubt this will be any different.
Technically, the second death star could have blown up by a chain reaction caused by Anakin throwing The Emperor down the shaft. But that is me making excuses, for a person who obviously never watched any of the star wars movies,,,, sober. More likely it was Lando Calrissian, blowing up the core.
Here is my recipe for cake with just 3 ingredients: Water, Mud and Gravel. Now, it may be not a traditional way to make cake, but it is more accessible to non-bakers. While the taste could be described as "horrible" or "disgusting", it's refreshing to see new ways to prepare an dish many would only associate with "tasty" - a deeply offensive stereotype using food as a gateway into right-wing culture.
I'll do you one better. Here's my recipe for apple pie with dog fecal matter instead of apples. My "creative direction" gets more people talking about it than yours. Some of them even yell at the top of their lungs after a taste! And as Rian Johnson showed us, getting people "talking" is the only metric upon which to judge the quality of an entertainment product.
You have to realize that this isn't for you. It's for kids. Always has been. If you're a 'fan' perhaps that's the problem that most immediately needs to be addressed. Fanaticism is always a bad thing. Fan girling over a franchise meant for children is proper gross.
@@williamhutton2126 you have to realized even the kids don't want this. They like the Prequels and the OT which their parents introduce. If this is for "kids" only, how do these franchises get past down. This is a rather silly argument. Without your die hard fans who have children btw, some of these franchises will be dead in a generation.
You should stop letting it depress you. Depressing you is how they win. You can determine for yourself when the actual franchise ended, and treat everything after as completely non-canon garbage.

Star Wars has become a mediocre franchise that failed to utilize it's huge potential in terms of storytelling and worldbuilding because of the people at the top. Loads of stuff they could do with new and unique stories in different places of the galaxy from all kinds of perspectives, but they're simply too incompetent to go that route and the simple audience of today can't fathom the idea of moving away from the Skywalker lineage.

Q: Anakin blew up the death star how many people died from that? A: Anakin never blew up a death star, his son Luke certainly did. Anakin blew up a robot factory ship as a kid in a Naboo starfighter in Phantom Menace with about two to eighteen actually living people on board from the Trade Federation as biological skeleton crew, the rest of which were droids which are iffy on if they are alive or not by personality. Said factory was hovering off the planet of Naboo and invading it. When the first death star blew up, it didn't kill nearly as many people as the whole population of the planet of Alderaan combined, including making millions of species of animals native to the planet made almost immediately extinct, the food production that helped feed the surrounding galaxy if you considered the many species of native plants that also possibly went immediately extinct and there's also the possible damage from a solar system collapsing from suddenly missing the gravitational strength of a single planet that caused even more damage to the solar system Alderaan was in and possibly other surrounding solar systems. Essentially the Empire took a nuke to peaceful protestors and expected no one in the galaxy to rebel against them because of it out of fear.
The funny thing is that the sith dont deal with their trauma, their whole power base is determined by how much they twist their own trauma and pain and anger into its most toxic form and then never let it go
Right. It gives them power and drive to champion themselves over their weakness. Jedi have their way of using it; Sith tap into raw emotion and use it to bolster them to greater versions of themselves.

@@Xbalanque84 this is what most people still apparently don't understand. There is zero purpose in arguing or trying to persuade the other side anymore, they do not operate on logic, logic is literally racist.
These media reviews should be called Part 1 Reviews. Part2 is 6 months down the line when they can come clean about the show after it flops and they can be honest then.
The problem is that, as George Lucas said, most people do not understand the nature of the Force. Most people think there's a Lightside and a Darkside of the Force. In fact, there is only the Force. The Darkside is not an aspect of the Force, it is a corruption of the Force. The Darkside is like a cancer of the Force. Bringing balance to the Force doesn't mean a balance between the Lightside and the Darkside, it means an absence of the Darkside. Think of it like a balanced diet; it doesn't mean and equal amount of food that's good for you and food that is bad for your health. As for the "Lightside' of the Force not being a thing in George Lucas Star Wars, compare the number of times in his movies in which a character reference the Darkside of the Force and how often they mention the Lightside of the Force. You'll find that, while the term "the Darkside" is used many times, not once is there a reference to "the Lightside". For example, when Luke is explaining to Leia in Return of the Jedi that he has to confront Darth Vader, he doesn't tell her that he can turn him back to the Lightside, he says he can turn him back to the good side. That was a deliberate choice George Lucas made so people would understand that there is just The Force and that the Darkside is a corruption of the Force, not an aspect of it and not a part of it (just as you wouldn't consider a cancer a part of your body, you would think of it as a corruption of you cells---which it is). I only know this because I saw a video of George Lucas explaining it to Dave Filoni (who obviously didn't listen or didn't understand or didn't care) when they were doing the Clone Wars series together.
... it's a prequel? THIS IS A PREQUEL!? BRILLIANT!!! Flashing back to the Jodie Whitaker Doctor saying she was an upgrade, then realising not only did they get rid of the upgrade, they literally rolled back to a previous version.
Did you not read legends at all? There already was such a being in legends. Abeloth. Although I wouldn't expect you to know about that as you aren't an actual star wars fan.
@@DarksideGmss0513 lol okay, gatekeeper - youre right though - I'm only a fan in the sense that I watched the original three films like a hundred times, more than 15 years before that book was even written.
Huh, I read a ton of the books (nearly everything that had been released, I think) up until around when the New Jedi Order series of books were being released. Read some of those but kinda stopped keeping up with the books around that time. So that was about 10 years before the release of anything mentioning Abeloth, apparently. Reading a bit of a wiki page about her though, I see that she's related to something that I remember coming up in Rebels when Ezra found his way into that place outside of time. Didn't know when I saw that episode what that Father/ Son / Daughter mythology they found was supposed to be about. Also, from what I'm seeing in this wiki entry she is not "The Force", she is a formerly mortal person who became a dark side Force ghost. (Although I guess she does sound like the type to claim to be the voice of The Force itself to sway followers to do her bidding?) Interesting to read that a Killik hive had a hand in trapping her after she became like that. I didn't know that they had appeared anywhere outside of SWOTOR... Ah, they first showed up in books that released some 5-6 years after I stopped paying attention to the new releases.

They’re ridiculous that they think being special and having the force somehow makes things not equitable. It’s because these very people making it aren’t special and have to make up all these terms for themselves, don’t think it’s fair people are born with inherent advantages and think they must apologize for it. Not only that but they must not use their advantages because it’s not fair to their boring/unspecial asses.
The "Anakin killed the Death Star" dude is the same person that said that the best part of SW is that it isn't about good vs evil, it depends on what side you're standing on. lol
Yes, cause clearly the Rebels, modeled after American Patriots, the Jedi, modeled after Buddhist monks and medieval knights, are totally the moral equivalent of the Empire, modeled after the Third Reich, and the Sith, modeled after Satanists…
Actual cannonical power. Cuz Anakin/Vader has no father. I think Palpatine's Sith teacher pointed at Shmi Skywalker and yelled Shazam! Why a downtrodden woman on Tatooine? No clue.

I’ve noticed that the shills will rate it highly so at first glance it looks good, while in the actual post it is more critical. How critical or honest depends on the author.
Star Wars, one of the most successful and beloved movies in history, was not deep and nuanced but it blew our minds. I saw it seven times at the cinema and drive-in. I'd hazard a guess to say that most people saw it more than once. In short, it was what the audience wanted to see. Over and over. It had good guys and bad guys. It had a wise mentor and a naive student learning to harness his power for good. It had a powerful and menacing villain. It had a "bad boy" with a heart of gold. It had a feisty heroine who was nevertheless feminine. It had two sidekicks for comedic relief. It had good ultimately triumphing over evil. None of these things were revolutionary. The only groundbreaking thing was that it was set in space and had the most advanced special effects of its day. But that was just a background to the most important thing - a ripping good yarn brought to life with three charismatic leads who bounced off each other and got on with buckling their swash without stopping to tick a lot of meaningless boxes along the way. Exciting story, great casting = good time. Simple really.
Men spend 40 years building up a property with worldwide appeal based on universal concepts like courage, choosing the difficult path, devotion to principles, and personal sacrifice for the greater good. Women take it over and everything in the galaxy becomes about her personal angst regarding whether she's being respected as the glorious queen she believes herself to be.
And they identity with the Sith because they love them bad boy Sith. Carrie Moss' character is at that age where she's asking "Where are all the GOOD Sith? I'll settle for a Jedi imp now..."
I ageee they fucking the IP but that’s cap. Star Wars has always been about blurring the lines. Anakin was a guy who did it for love, Doku did it for Justice, and the council did it in the opposite direction they allowed Anakin mother to be a slave and eventually be killed because slavery was legal. That’s why the best Jedi left the council behind or rebuilt it.
When they say "Breath of fresh air" yet the past 10 years has been the exact same shit. Do you think they realize or do you think they just want some catchy buzzword in the headline?

Ah, the "Picking up the scraps of your credibility while keeping Access." Yea, its not working out so well for them.

Didn't know when I saw that episode what that Father/ Son / Daughter mythology they found was supposed to be about. Also, from what I'm seeing in this wiki entry she is not "The Force", she is a formerly mortal person who became a dark side Force ghost. Interesting to read that a Killik hive had a hand in trapping her after she became like that. I didn't know that they had appeared anywhere outside of SWOTOR...

And they identity with the Sith because they love them bad boy Sith. Carrie Moss' character is at that age where she's asking "Where are all the GOOD Sith? I'll settle for a Jedi imp now..."
Nicely put.
Cluster-Bs: *NOT. EVEN. **_ONCE!_*
"... but who built their houses?" Perfect!
I guess we’re paying for Harvey’s sins….
When they say "Breath of fresh air" yet the past 10 years has been the exact same shit. Do you think they realize or do you think they just want some catchy buzzword in the headline?
Because of Kathleen Kennedy - The Female is Forced
Ironically, FonM [struggle-snuggle] hasn't legally been treated as such in the US for over a decade. *It's okay when they do it.*
"My star wars" that tells you everything.
It can't tease the mystery... There's only 8 episodes of 20 mins. It barely has enough time to introduce the characters
As a female, this makes me cringe. This isn’t what anyone wants, let alone us! 🤦🏻♀️
