I love when you go to the garden center! It is charming and packed full!! Love it! It was nice to see your Dad for a second. Enjoy you trip. Can’t wait to see it!!
🐿 We planted kale in our hanging baskets in the late fall of 2022. To our surprise, the SQUIRRELS ate every last bit of them! It ruined the display, but we were happy to feed our furry friends!
First...a take along trip is so much fun! Echinacea look just perfect around that bench and the white pansies look like little fairies tucked into bed for the winter. 🍂✨🧚🏻♂️
I hope there are awards for garden centers - IS that a thing? Because your parents' nursery is extraordinary. Not only are the plants exceptionally healthy (first concern), and the displays both beautiful and helpfully arranged, but the artwork and that fun quotation up front... My goodness it's tempting to move to Oregon just to take advantage of their passion and commitment to their community!!
Hi guys. Just wanted to compliment you. You work so hard. Can't believe how hard you graft. It's a joy to see so many plants and watch you add these little gem stones of colour to your garden. xx
I know right. ;-( But there might be a really good nursery that you've never heard about in a suburb/town hidden near you! I've found a couple in my State - they're just too far to drive to haha I also wish I could pick up Espoma products in Australia. I've done so much research and there is nothing like Espoma BioTone with those fungi, in Aus! Well, you can get the fungi... but it is more for huge industrial growers, with an industrial grower price. ;-(
@@blarghies Hmm, maybe you could contact one of those industrial growers and ask if they would order enough to "share" a little of it with you. Also, if you know someone in the states who is willing to help you out, just get them some money and have them buy it and ship it to you. I know shipping isn't cheap but if you can get them to send you several different things you want then it doesn't seem quite so much. We have friends from Germany that we do this with. It's always exciting when we get our box of goodies from them once or twice a year! Just a thought... Happy springtime to you! I know you must be enjoying the warmer weather while we are looking forward to the cooler temps here. I live in the Texas Panhandle which is similar, as I've been told by ppl from Australia, to your "Outback" areas. Hot and dry! We used to work at an old west show and chuckwagon supper and we had 2 busloads of mostly Ausies come out every Saturday night. Wow! We always looked forward to Saturdays! The ppl had been travelling for a week from either California or New York and they got to get out on our prairie and stretch their legs and hike around and pet the horses and look at the buffalo we had out there. Oh, after they unloaded all the coolers full of various sundry of adult beverage, that is! Wow! They were having a party!!! Then they all loaded up in our horse drawn wagons that each sat 40 ppl and headed down to the campsite for dinner and the show. We had all kinds of old western music, cowboy poetry, an outlaw and a Texas Ranger and sheriff and they had a big ol gunfight on horseback and chased that outlaw right out of camp. After the show, we brought everyone back to the barns and taught them several country music dances and then they left and headed to a large local night spot that was here to go boot scootin'! It was always the Ausies favorite stop on their 2 week tour through the states. That's says a lot because they did a lot of things. They always said it was because it reminded them of home and they could actually get out and walk around and enjoy the countryside as well as go to the show. Sorry, I rambled and got a bit nostalgic. It was hard and hot work but my husband and I loved playing music and entertaining all the different people from all over the world who came to visit us!

I enjoy plant shopping and seeing Laura pick out her array of plants for the season. Gorgeous variety and show how easy … well, because of Laura, she makes it look so easy that even beginner gardeners can become super human gardeners. Ty Laura! When plant shopping this whole year I wanted to only get plants for pollinators. As I walk thru nursery departments at several stores, I look to see what the bees are buzzing around then buy those only. What I found is I can look up the plants online that attract them but when I got home and planted, I didn’t get any. Plants looked beautiful but that’s only part of what I was wanting. So now I let the bees butterflies and hummingbirds help me decide. I think my flying critters are just picky where I am vs elsewhere. Bought so many different zinnias & cone flowers for them and none would even take a second look based on online & nursery provided lists. A distinct difference with local vs big box nursery’s that I have noticed is the smaller or local places can have the same plants at big box stores but I rarely ever see any bees or butterflies fluttering around at the big box store plant departments. I now mostly buy from local. I wish all nurseries looked this nice and organized as Laura’s parents. Such a sweet place.
