- So this is not really a comparison of the Old Old Comber Vs the New Old Comber. Well kind of not really, you'll see what I mean when you watch the video, but does the new Old Comber Impress for an Irish whiskey??? Part of Echlinville Distilleries' ever-expanding range, have they done it justice? Check out my brand new review on the week's Whisky & Whiskey.

ABOUT ME:
They call me The Whiskey Chaser and I'm just a bit of a Whiskey nerd/enthusiast. And when creating these videos I only really have one goal - to make your understanding of Irish Whiskey that much better! Well that, and have a bit of entertainment at the same time. And maybe hopefully have you learn a few things along the way and laugh. Okay so maybe not one goal maybe four!
I’m not into those videos that are monotone and busting out fact after fact on whiskeys, no character no nothin. If that's what you’re looking for then keep on rollin baby, this channel isn’t for you! But if you wanna have a little fun while (hopefully) learning, then what are you waiting for, subscribe, and get comfy!
Whiskey isn’t that hard to understand it just has to be delicious!

Nice review lad, subbed. Gave up searching for a bottle of this stuff...you can find it frequently at auction like you say, but I'm not gonna pay £100+ for a young £45 whiskey just because I love the history behind it. There'll be more Old Comber to come in the future anyways...once the 'new' old mashbill ages up to 7 years. This one sounds damn tasty for the price, but probably not as close as the recreated mashbill will be. That said just today I did finally get two 50ml samples of this stuff, hence me looking up your review. Excited to try it. Would love to try some of the original stuff too, tempted to bite the bullet on a sample from DramsDelivered one of these days...but it's 60 euro.
Thanks bud. It’s harder to find then hens teeth but really great at £45. I hope there is more coming shortly , but you can’t begin to compare it to the old mashbill. Not even the same planet in terms of flavors but very very interesting to see the difference between old spirit and new. Worth a punt for research purposes I think. You get a better understanding of whiskey of both old and new in general. €60 is expensive but just think , it’s research 😉. Thanks for the comment.
Thanks for the informative video. I have a bottle of the original old comber whiskey in its box and with a very old original wine mark carrier bag. Can any of you advise me what it's worth and how to get the best money for it? It belonged to my late grandfather.
Irish whiskey auctions would be the place to go and check that out. You can search their previous auctions and see what turns up. Definitely worth a few hundred euros. Not sure exactly though
@@TheWhiskeyChaserBrianis it something likely to keep going much up in price or do these things hit a peak
Its fluctuating the whole time, hard to say really. Could very well go up moderately in the next few years with the launch of the new old comber!

Another great review Whiskey Chaser but once again the problem of availability and price from your review I cannot astertain either. However going on the hunt for a Puca single pot still tomorrow and as you say keep it Irish Powers three swallows at €30 in Tesco at the Halloween weekend with free spice pack try to beat that !
I’m on the hunt myself for a bottle! Review to follow soon!!!
So my friend i live in comber co down and my father in his 80s that worked and even went to school in Andrews comber mill just happens to have a bottle of the original comber whiskey but to be completely honest I wouldn't sell it but would be interested in how much it is worth my friend my grandfather's grandfather worked in it many many years ago
And will be doing another RUclips video on my RUclips channel of comber back in the day just like my last video my friend
AWESOME!! You want to check out Irish Whiskey auctions to see what the going rate is on these as I'm not really sure! But that's a lovely piece of history to own!
I was always told the original Old Comber was rotten! 😮
God no. Completely different animal to todays distilled whiskeys. I’ve had it. I’ve enjoyed it tremendously
Not really my friend cos I wouldn't be selling it anyway bet thanks anyway my friend
