I've been playing legion for a couple years now, and it has been a joy watching you guys navigate your way through your second game of legion. You are actually doing really well with the rules in general, as legion can be confusing at times and misunderstanding some rules even 10 games in is fairly common if you dont have a veteran to walk you through them. I hope you keep it up, its a great game, and go empire!
Honestly that is not true for the "rules" part. Legion rules are insanely straight forward, much easier than any other wargames can be, and even the most complicated situation is relatively easy to cut down to pieces to get the rule right. But yes, it can be challenging for begineers, that's 100% right.
Oh man I didn't mind them that much, and they are sooooo easy to paint. I have 6 units and the total painting time for all 54 models was probably under 3 hours.
I love both 40k and legion but legion is so much fun right now. Having to wait your opponent to play their full turn while you only save and remove your miniatures feels very dated compared to alternate activations.
The turn system is something I wish AoS would steal. The double turn is such a salty mechanic, but I think Legion’s card based betting system is an awesome way to allow double turns while going actual control to players and not just leaving feel-bad situations.
Always supportive of you trying new things, and I enjoyed seeing how this system works. Would say that games where half the table is covered in cards may need a way to show them a little more clearly than the split screen, although I appreciate that may be much more difficult than it was for the Magic games. Anyways, some stunning models from those who painted them and personally wouldn't mind seeing the odd game or two more as everyone gets up to speed with the rules.
So, interesting thing about the whole dice thing comes from the idea of Surges. So, B1 Droids save on White Dice with no add on's, effectively a 6+ save There are certain units that save on White Dice, Surging to Defense, meaning a 5+ save The Red Dice are the equivalent of a 4+ save And, by far the most powerful version is the Red Dice, Surging to Defense, 3+ saves. The reason why there are White, Black, and Red Attack dice is of a similar theory. White Dice, on their own, have a 1/4 (2/8) chance of success (Crit and Hit) White Dice, Surging to Hit, have a 3/8 chance of success (Crit, Hit, and Surge) Black Dice have a 1/2 (4/8) chance of success, with 2 additional Hit markers from White Black Dice, Surging to Hit, have a 5/8 chance of success Red Dice have a 3/4 (6/8) chance of success, with 2 additional Hit markers from Black And, similar to Defense, by far the most powerful version is Red Dice, Surging to Hit, with a near guaranteed 7/8 chances of success. The reason Black exists is because, I suppose as a design choice, they decided to have hits be on 8 sided dice, and saves on 6 sided dice. If, for some reason, the system was all 6 sided dice or all 8 sided dice, then they'd follow the same rules (My personal theory of why they used a higher chance of hitting than defending is because of how lethal everything seems to be in the Star Wars universe, no matter who you are, at best, you have a 1/3 chance of dying outright (Assuming you only have 1 health)). Hope this helps a bit
Very cool game. "It's mostly a droid force"........ Tends to be the case if you play CIS. Dooku is NOT fueled by hate like most sith are, he is an elitist who believes he is better than everyone else and he turned against the jedi because of that. He doesn't believe in the Sith mumbo jumbo he just joined them because it fit his goals Dooku is specifically a duelist, his form, most of how he uses the force, and the psychological warfare he uses against opponents is specifically tailored for dueling. Makes sense that Obi is a support character for troops since his saber form specializes in defense and protection.
On the topic of defense dies, there's no real need for a ''black'' category for defense. You have white, white with surge, red and red with surge. A black dice would have 2 shields and a surge. White defense dies with surge (2/6 to save) or red dies with no surge (3/6) already cover those values.
Been looking to get into the table top game, was thinking Tau in 40k (like mechs) but now Iv seen this an im a massive SW fan, I mite rethink (also seem way more straightforward for a beginner). Would love to see more of this
Dooku: The Jedi are trapped in my arena and have nowhere to hide. Tell the droids to kill them all! Also Dooku: Blasters? I'm a force user, doesn't that mean I'm immune to blaster fire?
is it just me but after playing both 40K and legion extensively I prefer legion quite a bit more and its also way easier to teach to a friend and get them into, also super glad titans finally played a game of legion !
Oh why!? Lol. I was “happy” not playing Star Wars Legion because I’m such a nerd for Star Wars and I just wanted to imagine this game could not be as fun as 40K as I don’t have space for any more collections. :-(. Now I’m torn. Maybe this will become a “when the kids move out” goal for me. 🤣🤣
Nice intro video for Legions. Painters were good as well, nice terrain. One critique though, all the 40k questions comming in should be not allowed. This is Legion, hearing 40k questions is disconcerting. I moved from 40k (played since 1995) because of constant codex creep and the fact I cannot actually use an entire painted Iron Warriors Army. GW has priced and edition/codexed me out of playing that system.
You made a little mistake with the narration at 13:44. He probably meant to say Seperatist Alliance or CIS. While it's true that much of the droid army and their vehicles were produced by the Trade Federation, they remained a neutral faction in the war.
Mandos already out for rebels. As well as sabine and clan wren as hero units for rebels. Bobba is also available as a operative for empire AND there's a future expansion where deathwatch will be playable.
Oooof ya obi cant gaurdian hits on vehicles, it says friendly trooper. Also, you cannot use a scout move to move vertically, also you should have had 2 aim tokens for token sharing with ur strike team arcs on turn 1
Cool match to watch, had a game with a friend after watching you guys play with this, are you guys able to clarify a question if something has a range of 1-3 does that mean it’s target has to be outside of 1 because it’s minimum range is 1?
@@mackdye9070 thank you for your reply, just so I’m understanding it right so when something states a range it mean anywhere in the stated first range stick up to anywhere in the furthest range stick?
Oh nooooo...one small error here. Very early in this stream, 9:26 (ish). Count Dooku was only a Sith in NAME ONLY. He was STILL A Jedi. He never gave into the Dark Side fully. He only worked with the Darth Sidious as a means to smackdown the hypocritical Jedi Order. As Dooku had seen so many good men and women of the Order die needlessly. All because the Council hold so strongly to a dogma. In the end caused the Order to be destroyed. Though Dooku was killed by...well "Darth Vader" (It was Anakin but really could claim that Vader really did the killing blow). As even Dooku never trusted Darth Sidious and knew he would be stabbed in the back but he did not realize he would not see his handy work to the end.
When you say the attack dice are like 5+ 4+ and 3+ respectively are you comparing them to 40k dice or their numerical value on the 8 sided dice? Because that's kinda way off if either way. White dice are 7+ on the 8 sided dice which is only 25% to hit as opposed to 33% like a 5+ in 40k. Black dice are 5+ on 8 sides which is actually similar to 4+ in 40k but surge is still something to consider, and then red dice are 3+ numerically, but that's 75% on 8 sides as opposed to the 66% it would be in 40k. With the addition of surges and rerolls it's just not helpful to consider those two sets analogous at all. It will lead to white dice seeming to underperform and red dice being undervalued. Red dice feel like 2+ feels in 40k and white dice feel more like 6+ in 40k
@@NosightTactics Definitely. I play both games and I like them both but Legion is so much easier to play because everything you need are already on the cards. You don't have to check for some additional rules hidden somewhere in the codex.
Too bad they chose to do the CIS army from the Phantom Menance, and not the one from Revenge of the Sith. Not to excuse Jar-jar, but we all know the Gungans had the coolest army in TPM. Some Genosians and those unicycle things would make the army a lot more interesting.

Ya, GW has lost their mind in my opinion. The rules bloat and cost of their stuff just turns people off.
The turn system is something I wish AoS would steal. The double turn is such a salty mechanic, but I think Legion’s card based betting system is an awesome way to allow double turns while going actual control to players and not just leaving feel-bad situations.

I'm surprised the guys haven't tried Conquest.
This channel is amazing, love to see legion and AOS! Thanks for the great content!
This is such a great game. I hope this series continues.
Why have you not done any more Legion games?!? Especially as you were given the armies!
`Hey guys, great battle report! First time with the channel, ex-40k player but big Legion fan, hope to see more Legion content from you soon!
It would be nice to see more legion games from you guys
Also if you wanna make some legion merch tshirts... I'm here for it.

Star Wars Legion, yay! If you make that a regular occurrence, I‘ll gladly subscribe again!
The more Games Workshop fcks up, the better for the industry. Love all the various games.
Please make more Legion games!
White defence 6+, white with surge 5+, red 4+, red with surge 3+ so I'd say it's pretty good with just two of those.
keep em coming guys this was awesome thanks
I really like this game, I wish it had a bigger community
i do napoleonic 15mm gaming but im thinking about painting some clones
I vote more of this game! Loved it
Scout moves happen when the unit with scout deploys
Firts Legion game streamed. They ever do a second?
Is Legion coming back ever? Or are we waiting for the triumphant return of Brian to get more Legion content?
I mean, kinda disappointed Brian did not win turn 1. If he put Obi-Wan on top of the building he would have had the high ground and won on the spot...
Horus Heresy has been where it's at since 40k went to 8th ed. I'll probably stick with it as I pick up legion.
The game looks awesome I’m just confused as to why the B1 Droids don’t have their comm packs on their backs. Makes the droids look a little off
Nice, I love Legion!
the dice seem like a slightly more complicated version of cursed city
More legion! Turn system is way better then sigmar and 40k. Also way more balanced game. I play all 3 but love legion game play
Can we get more Star wars legion games
Where can we purchase this awesome Tatooine village?
Played some things wrong which is totally understandable, still a great watch 😊

Hello there!
General Kenobi!
I'm going to be honest. As someone who loves AOS and 40k...I honestly think legion is a better game in almost everyway
Commenting on some of the language in the cards happens a lot with FFG products. They need a few more tech writers on staff I think.
Are you guys going to make more star wars legion videos?

Just grow the stache out bigger Bridger, don't cut it off
Watch those wrist rockets...
You guys move from the front of the base to the rear of the base. I’ve never seen that. I thought it was front to front or rear to rear.
It's front to rear. The movement indicators even have indentations for the base.
Fuck yeah, I love Legion.
But… but… no Legion since 2021, and now there have been rules and points changes. Also Brian didn’t even use Fire Support.😈
More Star Wars Legion :D
