I grew up during the peak of PPV tv and my mother made sure there were parental controls so I was only watching what I was supposed to. No one shut down cable companies for allowing channels that display violence. So why be upset that this black man is getting rich using the same forumla? I too was initially disappointed with the network, until I really thought about it.
Now I’m not angry with the Zeus network, I have a subscription and I support it. What we have to understand is the long game, this man is becoming quite wealthy, and this network is extremely successful. Albeit some of the programming does not present us in the best light, but that’s not all of us. We have to stop thinking that one vision of Black people represents all of us. I feel like we do this to ourselves sometimes, but that’s a different conversation .,, we have to think along the lines of the American capitalistic game.
Zeus is owned by Plummer, owned, and he’s giving great opportunities to other black people. Black people who may have a vision that would not get an opportunity otherwise. We all know images that present us in a positive, non-stereotypical light are not always promoted. I feel like that’s done by design.👩🏻🦳👱🏻♂ they make sure of it. Is Zeus guilty of perpetuating some of the stereotypes, yes. But …

Zeus is giving opportunities to other young black professionals, actors, producers, writers, etc. that’s putting more wealth, which equates to power, in black hands.
