[4K]강원도 인제 내설악 백담사 둘러 보기Tour Baekdamsa Temple in Naeseorak, Inje, Gangwon-do

신라 제28대 진덕여왕 원년(647년)에 자장율사가 장경(藏經)을 전하고 율종(律宗)을 창건한 한계리 한계사의 고찰이다. 수차에 걸쳐 큰 화재를 입어 자리를 옮겨 다시 짓기를 반복하면서, 운흥사, 심원사, 선구사, 영취사로 불리었다. 조선 1775년 현 위치에 법당 등의 건물을 중건하였고, 1783년에 백담사로 개칭하였다.
상대적으로 번잡했던 외설악에 비해 한적하고 원시림에 가까운 비경을 간직한 내설악의 입구에 위치해서 봉정암, 오세암 등 외딴 암자를 산내암자로 거느리고 있는, 내설악산을 대표하는 도량이다. 이에 시인 겸 독립운동가인 만해 한용운이 이 곳에 머물면서 〈불교유신론〉, 〈십현담주해〉와 시집 《님의 침묵》 등을 집필했으며, 춘성은 백담사에서 만해 한용운을 스승으로 하여 출가했다. 해방 이후에는 제6공화국 성립 이후 1988년부터 전두환과 부인 이순자가 세인의 눈을 피해(백담사 유배) 3년간 은둔한 곳이기도 하다.
최근에는 대한불교조계종의 기본선원으로 지정되었다. 한번 들어가면 일정 기간 동안 나올 수 없는 무문관이 개설되어 참선정진을 주로 하는 젊은 승려들의 수행요람으로 거듭나고 있다.
This is the historical temple of Hangye-ri, where Master Jajang delivered the Janggyeong and founded the Yuljong sect in the first year of Queen Jindeok, the 28th queen of Silla (647). It suffered from major fires several times and was relocated and rebuilt repeatedly, and was called Unheungsa Temple, Simwonsa Temple, Seongusa Temple, and Yeongchwisa Temple. The temple and other buildings were rebuilt at the current location in 1775 during the Joseon Dynasty, and it was renamed Baekdamsa Temple in 1783.
Compared to the relatively busy Oeseorak Mountain, it is located at the entrance to the Naeseorak Mountain, which has a quiet and unexplored landscape close to a primeval forest, and is home to isolated hermitages such as Bongjeongam Hermitage and Oseam Hermitage. Accordingly, poet and independence activist Manhae Han Yong-un stayed here and wrote “Buddhist Theism,” “Siphyeondam Commentary,” and the poetry collection “The Silence of Love,” while Chunseong became a monk at Baekdamsa Temple with Manhae Han Yong-un as his teacher. After liberation, it was also the place where Chun Doo-hwan and his wife Lee Sun-ja went into hiding for three years to avoid the eyes of the public (exiled at Baekdamsa Temple) from 1988 after the establishment of the 6th Republic.
Recently, it was designated as a basic Zen temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. The Mumun-gwan, where you cannot leave for a certain period of time once you enter, has been opened and is being reborn as a training center for young monks who mainly practice meditation.

제가 2014년부터 지금까지 비교적 알려진 절을 140개소 정도 다녀 보았는데,
그가운데서도 백담사는 열손가락 안에 손꼽을 정도로 좋아하는 사찰입니다.
일년 사계절의 모습이 다 아름다운 곳이지요.
백담사 계곡의 돌탑들과 배경음악이 잘 어울리네요.
조회수가 무척 많은데 댓글이 하나도 없어서 제가 처음으로 달아봅니다.
혹 실례가 아닌지 해서 조심스럽긴 합니다만....
