Check her out on tiktok and instagram! Here on youtube she posts videos about her daily life in her cabin with her boyfriend Christoffer and her dog Grim, living just outside of Longyearbyen. A lot of people are asking about "carnation" and I think it might be more commonly known as "clove"? In Swedish it's "Nejlika" so maybe google that to see what it looks like 😃🧡
Ah! It is cloves, thanks for clarifying 😊
Yep, the old recipe I have has cloves in it
Ahhh I was wondering what that was, but clove makes sense
That makes sense ... I thought either clove or nutmeg...
I did wonder about using a dried flower in a cake 😂 Yes, clove sounds accurate.
So very sweet of Christoffer to give his fans what they’ve been asking for. 😃 (I always feel like he shouldn’t be forced into the spotlight, but he’s very kind to play along!) Thanks for another lovely view into the polar night, Cecilia! ❤️
I bet he is a guy you couldn´t force into anything. And that´s part of him being very reliable
and attractive!
I get the feeling he’s very comfortable with the baking/cooking aspect, and that helps him be more comfortable in front of the camera during those segments.
Yes, I agree Amy Radbill. Christoffer has a gentle energy, and soft-spoken voice about him. He's courageous and goes with the flow. I'm a back of the house kind of person - Introvert. Thank you both for sharing this vid! 🙏🏼
I feel for Chris too.....
wow ; Cecilia got the money shot; Christoffer smiles🎉😮❤
I love the way that Grim is bilingual, Christoffer should have a baking show, I love the way he is part of the video!
Christoffer has literally the most calming energy! I 100% need to make this cake too! ❤️🎄
I agree. He needs to start a baking asmr channel
This was just amazing to watch - the festivities and Christoffer’s amazing cake!
Grim is a champ. He seems very focused on the Mayor’s speech!
Love the Christmas spirit of your small town. Christoffer is getting much more comfortable in front of the camera and I adore watching him bake 🎄 The cake looks amazing!
watching Christoffer bake is making me super hungry and wishing I could eat that cake.
Would love to see more of Christopher cooking and baking. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Pennsylvania, USA.
And Merry Christmas from California.

Yay!! More recipes by Christopher the Baking Genius!
You got it! 🧡
Well done Christopher. You da man!
What a joyous person you are Cecilia, uplifting always
Listening to the choir sing while Grimm was laying in the snow made me insanely happy for some reason, it was so sweet!
Christoffer is such an amazing person esp to show us his mom’s recipes. 💜
Tack Christoffer, we’re really enjoying the Scandi cooking lessons at this end - you’re doing so well with the camera, it can’t be easy learning to talk to people who aren’t physically there with you
Beautiful video, beautiful location although it looks SO cold. Love Christoffer's comfort in front of the camera, now. It was like a baking show! RUclips closed captioning thinks the name of your village is "longer boone". :D
Cecilia around cake is a vibe
Christoffer is a chiller. His demeanor is so calming. The cake looks awesome.
Oh Mjuk Pepparkaka is 😋 yummy! It's nice to watch Christoffer baking that traditional Swedish Soft Gingerbread Cake! My grandmother made a really good such cake too and she used an old recipe but I never got it before she died and her old hand written recipe book got lost somehow among all her things! Julmust have hops ( humle) in it so it was done once to to be an alternative to alcoholic beverages for Christmas but is loved by almost all in Sweden today and a must for most on the Christmas table! I love to see the fun warm life you have on such an cold place up north. I think I have loved to live there too in that beautiful place under the Northern Lights! Lots of warm hugs ❤🥰🤗 to you Cecilia, Christoffer and sweet Grim!
I am definitely going to try the cake with my grandchildren as it looks delicious! Great job Christoffer!
I laughed when Cecelia drinks Christopher’s drink to equal what is in her glass. She ends up drinking more. Lol Christopher was so sweet in telling her to just take the one that has more just to make her happy!😊
The cooking segment was lovely and relaxing. I love the idea that everyone in your town chose to be there. Your lounge looks SO cozy! xx
I’m currently obsessed with your videos and I’m learning so much about the Nordic culture which is amazing. You live in one of the most beautiful spots on the planet. Thank you so much for sharing! Also Love Christopher’s baking so please keep them coming 😁 ❤️ Have an amazing Christmas 🎅🏼 🎄 🐶
Christoffer is quickly becoming one of my favorite RUclips personalities.
I love that Christoffer did this, so sweet
I love that you were wactching Harry Potter!!!! The baking was the sweetest thing ever!
I ❤ when Christoffer bakes!!!!
Thank you Christoffer! I am definitely making this cake 😍
The dancing around the town tree gave me Whoville vibes! Such a sweet community you have there in Svalbard! ✨💞🎄❄️💙
Yeah, Christoffer is baking - we love it when he takes the stage!! Such great energy and a great dry sense of humor :)
I’m just loving Christoffer’s baking segments. He’s just awesome. Love your channel and little family.
Cecilia we are all thinking let's have a "Cooking with Christoffer Series" . I have to say he has a great approach to cooking, practical and with a touch of humour - and very Zen like! A good role model for men worldwide! Thanks to all of you for yet another delightful vlog.
Christoffer is really becoming more and more comfortable talking on camera and we are all so happy to see that💘
A Christoffer cooking series is all I want for Christmas 😁
In Canada, our national postal system has volunteers that respond to all letters posted to Santa. It's the cutest/sweetest thing when you are a kid! I love to see traditions across the world!
It makes so much more sense to weigh the ingredients instead of using cups, and measuring spoons. I learned to cook this way while living in Germany. I’m back in USA and still weigh when cooking.
I love seeing Chris baking! Cecilia your youtube channel really relaxes me... thank you! hugs and kisses from Dublin!
I love seeing Christoffer in the kitchen and he explained it all so well. I am going to try this but I live in Australia so will have to use cranberries. I am excited to see how this turns out. Thanks Christoffer 😋
Such a wonderful video!! I wish there was a
Way to transport that gingerbread to
Massachusetts!! Wouldn't that be magical ☺️!! Christoffer's cooking is off the charts.
Also, I would Love to be there for those
Festivities, everyone should be able to
Experience that type of happiness in their
Lives. Thank you again Cecilia, I wish
Vlogmas would never end. 🧑🎄🤶🎄❤️❤️
I’m so glad RUclips randomly recommended your channel. Your videos make me cosy, content and are so beautiful. It’s also helping me appreciate the dark nights in the UK after moving back from east Africa recently! Thank you! Xx
These videos give me a new level of calmness 😍 i really wanna move to svalbard!!!
From the future.. since I found your channel and watching old videos which are fantastic by the way. Though most wont see this- I get how you and Christoffer are perfect together. Such a calming and great genuine person to compliment your high energy personality. Love following and watching. Cheers/Skol/Skal from Canada!
I have to tell you two this I kept thinking Christopher was saying DINGLEBERRIES! That in itself is so hilarious in English it is hilarious! My husband was laughing so hard at me because I just couldn't let it pass without a bunch of raunchy kid jokes! I finally got it when I saw it written out anyhow thank you for sharing this recipe, I love watching Christopher cook and bake!
Yeah, definitely wouldn't want to put dingleberries in a cake 😂
I get so excited to see a new video from you!! Love your channel!! ❤️
🧡🧡🧡
What a beautiful tradition!
What a wonderful community tradition to celebrate the Christmas holiday! I also enjoyed watching Christoffer's recipe. I love to cook as well, and when I have lived abroad in Spain and in China I took full advantage of the local recipes and try to replicate them with the ingredients I can get here in Alaska. I would love to see more of Christoffer's traditional Scandinavian recipes if he would be willing to do additional cooking segments on your videos. Thanks so much for sharing.
I just love how chill he is and I love the cooking/baking videos!
I love these baking segments!!! I think we are all falling in love with Christoffer.
You and Grim are soulmates!!!! You are perfect together!!! He did amazing at the tree lighting ceremony.
Christoffer is totally starting to embrace these baking segments. He looks like he’s into them now. And his creations alway look amazing. I love it.
Ligonberry Jam is our "go-to" jam in Minnesota! Thanks for sharing a new recipe to try for the holidays!!! It's is so much fun to watch the Holiday Season in your corner of the world! Happy Holidays!
Thank you Christoffer for the recipe and sharing your baking with us !! Yum !!
Its windy in Ontario. But not cold yet. Love it all and thanks for sharing. A Christmas wish come true would be to experience it there. Just too beautiful. Hi Grimm!
Wait a minute, Christopher is a total film star!!!! Why was he so reluctant in the past? He's a real addition to your vids, and honestly, he could star in his own Arctic Cooking show if he wanted, and I'd subscribe. for sure.
Cake looks delicious and I’d like to see him take the stage and cook more! He’s calming.
What a cool guy he is. Also he looks more comfortable when he is doing his staff infront of camera. Loved it.
Thank you Christoffer for the recipe - making it next week, can’t wait❤️🎄
While I don’t like the cold weather and all that snow, I certainly like the feeling of a small town comradery.
Gorgeous ceremony and the kids were cute too! Grim as always, the ⭐️ of the show and that cake 🎂 looks amazing Christopher! Thanks for sharing this with us Cecelia!
👏👏cheers to Grimmie being able to enjoy all the festivities! (good work mom and dad!💙). In that weather am amazed the band was able to play (wow)🎶 and was definitely having a "Who-ville" moment with everyone dancing around the Christmas tree 🎄!💙❄💙❄
ugh...your home looks SOOO cozy and the perfect place for christmas time. i'm sitting here in massachusetts, in late may, just watching your videos for that cozy-winter vibe that i love.
❤️❤️❤️
In looove with Svalbard 😍😍😍😍😍😍🎄⛄⛄🎄☃️ Thank you for sharing!
What a wonderful tradition. A sense of community especially over the holidays. Glad to see Christoffer light up with his baking-I think he may need his own baking show!
Christoffer’s baking skills are out of this world! 😎. More please!!
Well done, Christoffer. You do it so easily, no mess.
Yay! I was thinking what to add to Christmas dinner this year, now I'm going to make the gingerbread cake! Thank you for this tasty recipe!
Oh, so Julmust is Root Beer here in North America! The "root" flavor is the root bark of the sassafras tree.
Omg I really needed this video today❤️ awwww and there’s my boy Grim
thums up for Christoffer baking a cake. I am fairly sure he knows more excellent tasting recepties, no pun intended ;-)
Christoffer is a natural in front of that camera :) great job! And good choice of music. It's so relaxing watching him cook.
So in love with the polar night 💙 so magical ❄️
aww simple recipe...chrisopher is such a gentle soul love seeing him in the vlogs! so sweet!! More baking lessons for sure !
The community looks so bonded, like a family 🥺 I hope one day I'll be able to be a part of that community 💙 also, THAT CAKE, thanks Christoffer for sharing the recipe!
Christoffer was in a festive mood, he used MANY words in this video!
The "carnation" in this recipe, is most likely cloves. Carnation in English is just the flower, not the spice. :)
I've looked it up and yes it is clove
Thank you!💕
Ohhh. Thanks.
Yes, it's the same word for the flower and the spice in several languages. Easy to mistake when translating it 😉
@@SimoneLilianStephaniVieira, yes, it is similar in other languages, except English. The only reason why it caught my eye is because in German, they're called Gewürznelken, which literally translates into Spicecarnations. Most English speakers would just wonder, where to get carnations for this recipe. ;)
Thank you so much, Christoffer for cooking for us. Always enjoy your posts
So carnation in Norway is clove powder? In the US it is a dairy company haha! Chris did a marvelous job with the recipe. Love the Christmas traditions.
Thank you Kristoffer for the lovely recipe. Mmmmmm, gingerbread.
You should sprinkle some florsocker (tomusokeri), icing sugar on top of the cake, to make it look more Christmassy. 😊 Also, I heard some finnish on the background at 2.28 “Kävelläänkö me keskustaan vai mennäänkö me hakee auto.” (Do we walk on the city center or do we go get the car.) Greetings from Finland. 🤗
Thank you both for sharing these wonderful things with us all. Christoffer, I will be trying your mother’s gingerbread cake recipe! Living in Alaska, and picking wild lingonberries around our home, it is not often we find recipes including them!
I’m liking the new cooking edition
It's such a treat when Christoffer shares a recipe with us. I'm disabled in the USA and my husband has no pension. I can't afford to join your patrion channel to see Christoffer cook, so this is deeply appreciated. I can't wait for the holidays so we can try this recipe. It will also be a nice way to say happy holidays to other neighbors in the woods, and an excuse to say hi for a minute. We usually dont see people back here for months.
What was the last ingredient that was 150 grams? I thought he said roma or clean fresh. What is that???
Yum! Chris is a keeper ! ⭐️🍰🎄 🇳🇴
Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh…..love, love, love this! So relaxing and soothing and enjoyable! Thanks SO much for sharing!
After a Grimm weather day, Chef Christoffer finishes the day! Lucky Lady Cecilia wins the cake!
We have julmust in Finland too 🇫🇮 Cake looks really good! 😍
Love Christoffer's baking, looking forward to more recipes! :) Another great video, thank you.
I just love your channel! I found you a couple days ago and have been playing catch-up ever since. I live in the Cincinnati, Ohio area but born and raised by Grand Forks, North Dakota and you and Christopher just bring me home. Not too many Scandinavians in this area. Love my Norwegian/Swedish heritage! Thank you!
So cozy Thanks for sharing the event. Great job Chris! Yes to vanilla.
Creme fraiche and lingonberry jam in a soft gingerbread cake sounds delicious. I have to try this. I wonder if adding a pinch of salt might be a good idea though?
Christopher has such a calm demeanor and watching him cook and bake on camera is truly a pleasure. More plz! :)
Thank you for another great video and an amazing cake recipe!
I love watching Christoffer cooking and baking.
I am LIVING for all of the cozy videos lately 😍❄
