      Any of the Haunted Mansions/Houses in Pokemon that have ghost-type Pokemon (but especially not the one from Pokemon Ruby).
      Sure, I'll stop in to catch a Rotom, but I don't want to live there despite how huge the Mansion is and being able to have a ghost-butler doing things for me!

      The mountain mansion in twilight princess. Only accessable by snowboards, falling apart, full of live ammunition and still working cannons (an accident just waiting to happen) while overrun with monsters! The cook there makes excellent soup though.

    I'm surprised there was no mention of Roivas Manor from Eternal Darkness. Zombies, portals to other dimensions, A book bound in human skin that makes you revisit the memories of others who read it, that vampire who keeps eating the staff, and let's not forget the fact that the basement is a lost city of lovecraftian horror.

    The Pickman Gallery isn't so bad. I mean, it's definitely a fixer-upper, but a day with a rented dumpster and a month or two of weekend painting should remove the worst of its quirks. If it's in a good neighborhood, it's definitely worth the work!

    Chateau d'Onterre in Dragon Age Inquisition always gives me the creeps. Its full of corpses and the fires start burning by themselves as you walk near. Codex entries you find tells the story behind it - a father tried to bribe a Templar because his daughter was a mage and he wanted to uphold his family name. He kept throwing parties in the house (which presumably his daughter wasnt invited to) and one day the girl befriended a demon and they decided to improve a party by having everyone dance themselves to death... and then the guests became possessed corpses. The demon suggested to try more 'games' which involved possession. The girl became an Arcane Horror which you fight at the end of the quest. Not nightmare-inducing at all, nooooooo :P

There was a gang of women that went out luring out men and mugging them. A ship full of people were also murdered, and now haunt the place. A lady that kept a lot of giant, pet rats in her basement. It got sacked by Elven supremacists around 30 years prior to when Skyrim starts. How could anyone feel safe in this city?

    How about The Abandoned House in Markarth in Skyrim... I mean. it's haunted like whoa. But you can have it if you do a bunch of stuff for a Daedric Prince... And like... Yeah. I mean. Who would do that? Not MY character... Or at least... not my current one... (Like, maybe my last three did. But not this new one! ... yet.)

    • @michellee1190
      @michellee1190 7 лет назад +10

      And another thing... What about, like, ANY home in The Sims? I mean, at any point your bathroom could vanish right when you need it most or the ladder leading out of your pool causing mass drownings at your holiday cookout.
      How does that construction company stay in business?
      I'll tell you how.
      Nobody who owns one of their homes, nor ANY of their friends and family, is left alive.

    • @michellee1190
      @michellee1190 7 лет назад +2

      Also, on the subject of "haunted plus crazy puzzles to navigate" let's talk about 7th Guest shall we? There was that puzzle with the heart and the pipes and the reward for setting it to the correct configuration was a pool of blood spreading across the floor. And another one where you have to watch the ghost of an old lady getting really upset at her inability to... organize some soup cans to her satisfaction. So the only way to put her spirit to rest is to find the missing can so the pantry can be perfectly organized. ... and on top of it all, the owner of the house was a CREEPY TOYMAKER THAT MADE CREEPY TOYS THAT KILLED CHILDREN.

    • @michellee1190
      @michellee1190 7 лет назад +8

      AND ANOTHER THING about homes in Skyrim! Let's talk about Hearthfire and the dubious wisdom of choosing Windstad Manor in Hjaalmarch as your home, particularly if you've adopted children. Firstly, your kids are afraid all the time and they say so. I mean sure, you get a fish hatchery, but trolls and undead are always trampling on your outdoor garden! Lakeview is MUCH better... I mean sure, there's the occasional giant that shows up. But the kids never complain about it. They just get to work, attacking the giant in close quarters combat with the improved, vampiric, toy swords I gave them! We kill those giants together. Me, Meeko, my kids, my Steward, and my werewolf husband. Quality family time.

      I agree with all of your points! As someone who has owned both manors in Skyrim I know how it works. Of course the things that irritates me is when the giants kill my lifestalk. It really is quality bonding time killing said giants when you have shadowmere, two sons, a wife, and a crazy companion in the form of Cisero.

    Don't forget Blackhall Manor from Fallout 3's Point Look Out DLC. Not only is it a creepy Victorian manor shrouded by more fog than HP Lovecraft could shake a tentacle at, but it also (surprise!) has a secret ritual room tucked neatly away in the basement. And if you can somehow get past all that, there's the ominous old man living alone there that'd like for you to track down an other worldly book of unspeakable evil. Presumably to really tie together that ritual room.

    I would like to add that it's impossible to go all the way around on a chain swing, but considering I'm criticizing the realism of a game where the family home looks like Pablo Picasso's take on Pee Wee's playhouse it might be something of a moot point.

    • @SecretAgentNein
      @SecretAgentNein 7 лет назад +7

      No, it's not? I've seen kids do it. Unless "chain swing" means something different to us.
      I used to hate it when they did that because someone had to climb up and lift the swing back over so it would hang the right way again and I just wanted to be able to swing in peace.
      I would think it's impossible to go all the way around in such a smooth and gentle motion as shown in the game, though. Everyone I've seen do it always did a weird jump at the end to get the swing to go over the top and then they usually fell off the swing.

    Oh, I could go to town on this topic.
    - The haunted Ocean House Hotel in Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.
    - Benirus Manor in Oblivion, which has a very cheap price tag for a house that "looks" great. Turns out it's also haunted.
    - Ruins area in Darkest Dungeon. Used to be your ancestor's manor, now claimed by necromancers and the undead.
    - Dracula's Castle in all of Castlevania games. The castle is just a monster in itself as any critter that lives in it, full of traps, ever-changing layout, and other nasty things.
    - Judgement House in Murdered: Soul Suspect. A big rundown manor that serves as a hideout to a serial killer and demonic wraiths.
    - ShinRa Manor in Final Fantasy VII. It has quite a dark history and is infested with monsters, especially a really nasty one when you try to open a safe.

    What about Reavers Mansion in Fable 3. Seems nice on the surface but when you learn it has a gladiator arena filled with battle slaves that are determined to fight via a "wheel of misfortune" and a hidden bed, that's been very used, doesn't seem too appealing to me.

      There's also the Sunset House, where you have to solve a specific puzzle in the nighttime in order to restore the house. Then, by just sleeping in the bed (where there are giant flaming dolls), you have to play a deadly game of chess with Chesty, the maniacal, childlike Chest. Do all that and a little more, and you earn the deed to the house. Beware of the Hobbes and Hollow Men skulking around outside, plus an annoying Gnome in the pond.

Not only do you have a way to pass the time while you're waiting for all that gold to pile up in your palace, you also get to do a really fun side quest where you steal Reaver's underwear. No luck :(
