    question what size tip did you use to do the smile face?

    • @whattasmartcookie6120
      @whattasmartcookie6120  6 лет назад +1

      It was a Wilton tip #1. Sometimes if my piping icing is a lil thin, I will use a #0.

    Do you have a tutorial on how to make your icing consistency?

    • @whattasmartcookie6120
      @whattasmartcookie6120  7 лет назад

      +Taranisha Smith - I haven't done that yet, but I will get working on it. 😀

    • @whattasmartcookie6120
      @whattasmartcookie6120  7 лет назад

      +Taranisha Smith - I use the 15 second rule. When you're mixing/watering down your icing, take your spatula and drag it thru the icing then count how many seconds till the line disappears. If after 15 seconds the line is still visible, give a spray of water and try again. I use a spray bottle with water to thin my icing. It is way more manageable than the tap or pouring.

    Hi two questions how did you make the eyes, nose and mouth? Do you have a recipe for the icing it looks so pretty and shiny? Sorry for many questions did you press the bow on Minnies head before putting the cookies in the oven so that the mark of the bow is visible at the time of decoration? Thank you in advance so beautiful cookies!👍🏼❤️

      @whattasmartcookie6120  6 лет назад +2

      Hi! I drew the eyes, nose and mouth and put it in a sheet protector and made an icing transfers.
      This particular cookie cutter came with a second cutter for the bow and I did press the pattern into the dough before baking.
      This is the recipe I use:
      Mix 5 tablespoons of meringue powder
      3/4 teaspoon of cream of tartar with 3/4 cup of warm water. Mix it for about 30 seconds, making sure that you get rid of all lumps.
      Add the water mixture to 2lb powdered sugar and mix it for about a minute to get it all combined. Then, add 2 tablespoons of light corn syrup, 1 teaspoon of glyceri, 12 drops of white gel food coloring (optional), and your flavorings (I like to use 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1/2 teaspoon almond, and 1/4 butter)
      Beat the icing on medium for about 6 to 8 minutes, until you can make a stiff peak that holds its shape.
      The corn syrup helps them stay shiny, but the cookies definitely stay shinier if you put them in a dehydrator or under a fan. This will also keep the icing pillowy and prevent drooping.
      I hope this was helpful. Thanks for watching.

    what does 10 second royal icing mean?

    • @whattasmartcookie6120
      @whattasmartcookie6120  8 лет назад

      Natalie Rivera it means that when you drag you're spatula thru the icing it takes 10 seconds for the icing to fill back on and completely settle. This is a fairly runny icing and would be used to fill in large piped areas.

    How do you get the bubbles out the icing

    • @whattasmartcookie6120
      @whattasmartcookie6120  8 лет назад

      The needle scribe works wonders. I also let my icing sit a bit before placing into piping bags, allowing air bubbles to escape before bagging. I hope this helps! :-)
