You work so hard for us to bring these videos and never fail to answer your Patreons no matter what is going on. I thought your playing was phenomenal, to me, can't believe you did all that in 30 mins. Thankyou Mustafa, what would we do without you :)
Man, I just love the way you fail at some playing and still display it. Thtat is so genuine! Kudos to you, my friend! That is worth so much more to me than some over-processed, over corrected, over rehearsed generic, synthetic, artificially flavoured playing. Just because of that... subscribed!
Very useful BD-2, SD-1 review! Long ago with band I enjoyed my SD-1 but was sadly stolen with all my gear and never replaced. Now in old age just at home recording. So many great drive pedals and reviews of them these days it's crazy, so I think about Boss cause I know them. For example I just back ordered an IR-2. Always been wondering about a BD-2 and this A/B comparison was really helpful. I went over it a few times and will again. Probably BD-2 just cause I never had it yet, but cheap enough could be both. BTW awesome Gilmour!
I use the sd1 for most things still. It’s such a versatile pedal. Wanted a bd2 for ages and in the end was disappointed and went back to using my sd1. Favourite use is blended with hm1 with chorus and delay for late 80s Gilmour tones
You're right, I should've mentioned Waza line too. Honestly, of course waza version of BD-2 would be better than the stock version. I myself never tried it to be honest but I hear it's balanced on top end. To compare with SD-1, still the same story, mid boosted vs. flat eq.

You can't go wrong with either, the OD-3 is also very nice. At the moment got a RAT that can be a bit of an overdrive into distortion and slight fuzz even.
Hello ...how is your day? I want to make a suggestion for a video with Boss BD2 using a Boss Equalizer. How would the timbre be with this configuration? Thank you... Cheers!
The Boss sd-1 (and all the Tubescreamer family) doesn't sound very good on the full clean channel of the amp, because it cuts almost all the bass at one point and makes the guitar sound thin. Works well on a crunch channel or a clean channel bordering on breakup. (David Gilmour used it in the 80s but on a Mesa Boogie amp on the lead channel, adding the two sounds, or he used it adding the SD-1 to an HM-2 boss. The BD-2 boss doesn't cut the bass. You should try a BD-2waza Craft boss (Made in Japan, Silver Screen): in Custom mode Mids/bass are added and I'm convinced it would become your favorite overdrive.
I use bd2 as clean booster, sd1 as overdrive and rat for distortion. Have a green russian and rams head big muffs. Best combo for me. Tried fet driver custom shop and didnt like as much!
i think im more of a bd2 guy like you. i know your using a one watt amp but the blues driver just seems closer to the power boost. i kinda like the sd-1 and idk why but it kept giving me delicate sound of thunder vibes, which those tones are ok, but i much perfer pulse tones or 2006-2007 type tones that could be covered by the td-y. but idk that much. i kinda want to know what your thoughts are.
Delicate sound of thunder had a line booster very much close to Pete Cornish ST-2 but a little balanced eq-wise. Actually it's really close to tube driver. I think PastFx TD-Y is what you need.
are you turkish? always wanted to know your nationality! I already had the SD1 and today I use the mooer blues mood, copy of the BD2. best choice I made, it stands out more in the mix, I think it rips the sound more, much hotter.
I actually don't see the big fuss about a sd1 its so boxy sounding, the blues driver sounds better, but the tube screamer is best of the 3 and yes I own them all and have tried everyday to use them don't let youtube video fool u folks

Love the format and editing of your videos really i hope other people appreciate aswell!
I am a blues driver guy but i have to say the sd1 was spot on those live tones of gilmours. I have to get another one.
That Shine On bit on SD1 sold me a pedal. I already have got BD-2.

I bought both! Thanks for the video, man.
Haha that’s the spirit 🤣
I tried my Blues Driver into my Vox AC15 at band practice the other day. It was pretty heavenly.
I prefer the SD1 for my own music, and the BD2 for Gilmouresque sounds.
They both definitely have their place.
Thank you for this video just what i was looking for
well, which one did you get?
@@mustyguitar Going for the BD2
Love your vids mate. What’s with the band on your strumming hand?
Thank You for this explanation! 🎸
I just got the SD-1 a couple of days ago. I plugged it into my pignose amp, and it sounds really cool
They were surprisingly similar in the a/b with the settings you used!
I use the sd1 for most things still. It’s such a versatile pedal. Wanted a bd2 for ages and in the end was disappointed and went back to using my sd1. Favourite use is blended with hm1 with chorus and delay for late 80s Gilmour tones
What is hm1?
Clearly i meant hm2
@@joejones7674 😄
Both really got the job done. That was some Ace Playing, sounded like if Gilmour played in the style of SRV. Very cool indeed.
And one more question… what about waza craft bd2?
You're right, I should've mentioned Waza line too. Honestly, of course waza version of BD-2 would be better than the stock version. I myself never tried it to be honest but I hear it's balanced on top end. To compare with SD-1, still the same story, mid boosted vs. flat eq.
@@mustyguitarits is a work of art.
Its significantly more expensive than the sd-1 or even just blues driver

I personally find the BD-2 kinda cuts bass, even at 12:00 I always notice there's less bass, turning it down just reduces the treble
Great video, many thanks !!
I have both pedals, and I love 'em!
Hello ...how is your day? I want to make a suggestion for a video with Boss BD2 using a Boss Equalizer. How would the timbre be with this configuration? Thank you... Cheers!
I've used powerboost clone for shine on
Can you please make a video comparing popular rotary pedals? I cant find the Boss rt20 for sale on the used market.
I recommend this: ruclips.net/video/dd3NDEhfZ-k/видео.html
@@mustyguitarthanks! But do you have any other recommendations because import tax would make it quite expensive.
The SD-1 actually sounded better here. The Blues Driver was too bright and harsh.

My SD-1 sounds great on my Blues Cube with the amp cleaned up. However, I agree, edge of breakup for it and work the guitar's volume knob.
I use bd2 as clean booster, sd1 as overdrive and rat for distortion. Have a green russian and rams head big muffs. Best combo for me. Tried fet driver custom shop and didnt like as much!

Recently purcahsed a new Boss SD-1 for $49.99 and its a great pedal.
what a bargain!
@mustyguitar I agree, should of got a Boss Super Chorus too and I'd be set!
I find the SD-1 works better on mid scooped amps like fender deluxe reverb twin reverb.
emg SA our emg dg20 ?
Yeap
Quick question, is the list of gear you can't live without all your gear?
It's the essentials for just this channel, I use a lot of different stuff for different things.
@@mustyguitarfor example? What the most strange and awesome pedal do you have? In my setup it was hologram microcosm.
Awesome!!
SD-1. ❤ And if I want more gain, a RAT. The BD-2 gets too fizzy for me.
SD-1 here more Gilmourish…
are you turkish? always wanted to know your nationality! I already had the SD1 and today I use the mooer blues mood, copy of the BD2. best choice I made, it stands out more in the mix, I think it rips the sound more, much hotter.
Mooer is a great clone company with tons of awesome pedals to offer on very low price.
The SD1 has no bottom end. Crappy to noddle with, OK in a mix though.
Coolplaying

Except with a Hiwatt amp. If you want muddy mush, plug a TS into a Hiwatt. Hiwatts eat all pedals except TS.
SRV is overrated trash
