- A new car to the yard, and this time it's a ZT 190 in a very rare colour. The car is complete and will going back on the road after a short stay here.

It’s a wet Tuesday morning, we’re in an office in Birmingham. The heating is on too high and the complimentary water is warm. Some men in grey suits assemble around the shiny wooden table and take one sip of water before realising it’s the only one they will take. A man in a blue suit enters, carrying a flip chart. ‘How can we make a car that will become worthless as quickly as possible?’ he asks. Ideas fly back and forth, a large saloon, yes. A thirsty petrol engine whilst everyone else is going diesel? Yes, get it on the board. Mega spec with lots of stuff you can’t remove like integrated sat nav, a telly, some headphones? Love it, throw everything at it and make it scary expensive. Can we give the headphones a propriety connection? Cherry on the cake stuff but can you look into that Steve. But we need something else, something big. I’ve got it Jeff. Colour flip paint. Expensive, unmatchable colour flip paint. It’ll look awesome for the first three or four years but when it gets scratched or dinged, it’ll have to stay scratched or dinged forever. Great idea Mike, we’ll do it. Now, next up it’s a little city car……

Lovely wacky color. Found a 2-owner '77 Jag V12 Couple(XJC)which has a Purple Vinyl Roof with matching Interior 😂. Zero Rust Always Garaged . Talked to the Owners and they want $1200 for it. Lot's of small but very noticeable scratches. 114k original miles. Get it out of my Country please 😂🚗🇬🇧😀.
Would love a ZT-T in one of the Monogram colours, 190 def the one to go for as I can't afford a 260.
The car is registered as a ZT+ V6 160.

I have the diesel version of that car. It’s also got ‘Chatsworth’ bronze in the colour mix, which shows best at dusk.

Nice to see you safely back at PNHQWLT😀 Thinking of abbreviations, I wonder if ZT stood for anything? Perhaps someone will know otherwise Windy and I could probably come up with something😁
I believe the idea to MG up the 75 happened on a company trip to Drayton Manor Park and Zoo. Stop me when you see where this is going. The idea was so good they decided to turn around and head back to Longbridge immediately, and instead of their zoo time they attached lots of body coloured plastic to a 75 they had laying around and painted it in a bright colour. And to mark this day, the day they thought they’d saved MG (again) they called it the MG Zoo Time. Of course by the time it reached production the bean counters had shortened the name to ZT, the letter ‘M’ being a particularly expensive letter to have on a badge because they had to buy them from BMW and rub off the red and blue bits by hand in that tunnel where they found that smashed up Mini. The ZS was conceived in the shop at Drayton Manor Park and Zoo and received its name in a similar fashion. No idea where they came up with the ZR.

I believe sticks of souvenir rock were available at the Drayton Manor Zoo shop , rather like those found at the seaside. Several were purchased and subsequently shared at a meeting to brainstorm names for the remaining MG model. Running right through the sticks was of course the wording 'zoo rock'.
