I decided to pair this up with Wannyanpuu's fan music video because it's one of my favourite MVs in this whole series :D

I mean… it *does* talk about time loops and going back in time, so I don’t think you’re that off.
*AS FOR THIS STORY* :
First you need to know that this whole story has 10 main characters: Shintarou, Ene, Ayano, Marry, Kido, Kano, Seto, Hibiya(Hiyori), Haruka(Konoha) and Momo.
Second thing to know is that this story is a time loop. It ends badly, one of the characters rewinds time and it starts again. So even in the songs, you can see some multiple storylines being shown.
Third thing is eye power - red eyes. When 2 die at 15th August, they get sucked to Heat Haze World, only one person can get out, gaining eye power.
Now, this is mostly release order, not fully (be wary of spoilers, if you don't wanna get spoiled, just follow the song order and don't read my description):
1) *Children Record* - opening song with all characters. good to check again later, will make more sense.
2) *Jinzou Enemy* - Ene and Shintaro song (happening after Toumei Answer and Ayano's Theory of Happiness. Happening at the same time as Lost Time Memory song, different storyline)
3) *Mekakushi Code* - Kido's song about the whole gang.
4) *Kagerou Days* - Hibiya and Hiyori song after they died and are now trapped in the Heat Haze world
5) *Headphone Actor* - introduces Ene and the moment she is being trapped in Heat Haze world (happening after Yuukei Yesterday)
6) *Kuusou (souzou) Forest* - introduces Marry, the granddaughter of Medusa, and Seto
7) *Konoha no Sekai Jijou* - introduces Konoha who gets trapped with Hibiya and Hiyori in Heat Haze world, trying to save them (happening after Yuukei Yesterday and at same time as Kagerou Days)

23) *Summertime Record* - HAPPY ENDING - actually the happy end of story from Haruka's POV. Since Haruka was trapped in Heat Haze world for a long time, him being outside shows how it all ended well
24) *Shissou World* - Kido's song. Shows her life, long before this story started to long after it ended.
Well, this took a while. There are few more songs, but not speficied yet who it's about or when they happen in story.

@@zrudu Glad it helped! This is mostly songs storyline only though. There is also manga, anime and novels which all have different storylines. As I wrote at start, this is a time-loop meaning different media shows different storylines. In different loops the characters meet differently and sometimes even end up with different eye powers. Also other people end up dying in bad endings etc

I just realized when he jumped to die (3:14) he smiled, and that should be a hint for you to recall the time she also smiled when she died herself (2:28).
So each time Hibiya fails, it's a successful timeline attempt for Hiyori to save him by sacrificing herself.

I'll never understand why didn't they just talk if they were aware of what was happening, like, "HIYORI HOLY FUCKING SHIT IM GOING MAD WE'VE BEEN LIVING THIS DAY FOREVER", but while writing this i realized that that would proobably make things worse, because it would be a confirmation that they're stuck in this hell, and that one of them always has to die, they never talked about it for fear, nice

@@Josuh Even if they did for one particular cycle, it wouldn't actually matter. Each one can only remember the loops where they fail, not the ones where they succeed, so the other would only be confused since to them it would be their first August 15th, and even if Hibiya did tell Hiyori, and she believed him, it wouldn't really matter. They still end up dying either way. For example, when Hibiya convinces Hiyori to just stay inside and avoid going out, she gets killed by muggers, and the day resets anyways.

Wannyanpuu made this PV before Jin decided on Hiyori's official design and personality, which is why the girl in this video looks and acts completely different than Hiyori does in the actual series.
What I think is true;
>Hiyori died first setting her and hibiya into the loop
>both of them try to save each other but the loop continues (if you saw the previous songs and shinigami records it would probably make more sense)
>finally hibiya sacrificed himself to save her ending the loop
>at this point he gets his eye power and hiyori dies
(the clone = his heat haze)
Spoiler for anyone who havent seen through all the vids
>Hiyori was revived in the end by Konoha's wish to the snake
>The snake and Hiyori's consciousness overlap causing the snake to be unable to take independent action, most probably because the wish is a fulfilled wish instead of the wish made before
But I was kinda hoping Jin would show more on Hibiya and Hiyori at the end. Was kinda rooting for Hibiya...

Well, since it's a long time since your comment, you probably know already. But songs, anime, manga and light novel each have different storyline. It's one story of repetitive cycle. Anime is happy ending end, and possibly final loop (but the adaptation is terrible, so who knows how much intentional this was)
In songs, Hibiya (boy) got out while Hiyori (girl) stays trapped in that world.
In anime, Hibiya gets out and Konoha later saves Hiyori
In manga, Hiroyi gets out and Hibiya got possesed by the bad snake killing everyone.
Not sure how it goes in novel. Supposedly Hibiya survived and Hiyori either died or is still trapped.
@Solin Also, this song has no official video. Only some main songs have official videos. But the person who made this video as a fan later became official video maker for the series, so it's still pretty legit.

But I wonder why the Heat Haze was crying? Maybe he’s dead(because Hibiya escaped the loop) and has to be replaced by Hiyori’s Heat Haze? Even after all these years, I’ve never figured that one out.
Maybe the Heat Haze cared about him only and wanted him to accept her death and not care anymore even if he had to be the villain to do it but in the end Hibiya did the opposite and sacrificed himself making the Heat Haze cry because he had failed!!!!!
This is actually a fan animation! As such, this isn't canon, which explains the differences in canon Hiyori's design, so the video isn't completely accurate. It is a really good video, though, and does explain the main plot quite well.
This is my theory. Hibiya loves Hiyori a lot. And I mean a lot. But while this was happening nothing is actually real and apparently Hiyori is fine and alive. The Heat Haze Hibiya is the reflection of him who knows what's happening and so drives Hibiya insane to the point he accepts the cycle. If he does accept it, it means Hiyori is released and is free. Making heat haze Hibiya the master planner who wants Hiyori free. But things fail and Hibiya did the opposite and got Hiyori stuck with him going free, thus why Heat Haze Hibiya is crying. I know I'm late

It's quite clear that he doesn't die. This is all in his head, probably as some sort of thing to do with his clairvoyance ability. He appears in later songs, and not as a ghost. It's clearer in the anime. This PV was great tho o/
It's what happened when Hibiya, Hiyori and Konoha were hit by the truck and sent to the other world...it wasn't in Hibiya's head.

This song follows a boy name hibiya he wakes up august 14th ready to spend the day with his crush they were talking and just after she finshes saying how she hates summer days like this her cat runs into the street and she chases after it hibiya tries to stop her but hibiki doesn't hear him and she finally realizes what's happening as a truck starts barreling toward her she stops and tries get away but the truck hits her and she dies just out of reach hibiya and he stands there shocked crying over her and he sees a boy that looks just like him behind her he is the force behind this the one who causes all the problems that happen in the songs later he is the haze he says he than tells hibiya that he's not dreaming and hibiya's vision blurs and he wakes up again the days loop making him have to watch his crush die over and over again the haze appearing again everytime he finally finds a way around it and pushes hibiki out of the way dying instead of her she has the same reaction as he did in the situation and the haze appears again except this time he isn't laughing he's crying he's shocked at what's happened and he dissapears leaving girl in his place she's then starts giving hibiki her own personal hell as she starts the cycle again
