Such a great video I know the feeling of not believing the box lol. As far as gifts go a ported 661 with all the trimming is about as good as they get. He will remember it every time he fires it up! Such a great sounding saw Scotty killed it.
Only thing I would have done different is a twin port exhaust rather than the bark box. I don't like the way the bark box puts heat straight onto the mounting point for the dogs (the weakest part of the saw), plus they are obnoxiously loud.
Boomer you are quite right .. I've got special moulded ear plugs and grade 5's and it's still pretty loud ....however ... with square ground chain and a barker box my MS460 beats my 660
Don't think these's any more cc's Porkpie, they just allow the air getting in and out to increase and the timing. Seems the saw will run cooler so it shouldn't hurt it. However if you are going to go for more RPM's over standard you can wreck the bearings. But it should rev up quicker, get to top chainspeed and keep it there with more torque. That saw sounds like a beast, there's no doubt if you're working all day at the stump it would be a great saw. Bjarne Butler (on you tube) has the husky 592 walkerized in Canada ..that would be a saw.
When that new stihl hexa chain comes out it will add even more bang to the performance. There delays are a file shortage. The first batch had a hardening done wrong on the files. Now they are sorted and have 5000 files on there way as soon as demands caught up to little on nz.
I've got a dirty old 044 that I know would be smoked by that weapon nut id like to see a comparison. What are the chances of giving it a go? I'm self taught and it's running a 24 inch bar with full comp chain
@@adelarsen9776 Didn't see that as I skipped ahead to the cutting after the unboxing. I would say i 7 pin is not taking advantage of the saws power considering what wood they are cutting and how long of a bar is being run...not even close.

Keen as m8
Throw an 8 pin sprocket on it if it doesn't already have one.
In the video the guy shows you and tells you it's got a 7 pin. Which is the right one.

@@smithtradfallning You sound experienced.
@@smithtradfallning I'd run that saw with an 8p and 36" bar without thinking twice. That short bar an 8p would be a no brainer
