The rumor you heard is not true, because Abe Hifumi has recently mentioned on youtube that the person he respects the most is Nomura and based on Japanese TV, it seems they are on good terms. Hifumi has been saying that he wants to win 4 Olympic gold medals since he was in high school, so he is not saying this to spite anyone. Just wanted to make this clear for the record…..
They were on tv together a couple of months ago and Nomura posted a photo of them together on his instagram story. So apparently they are not on bad terms.

it was in a team event and Gaba was one whole weight category above him. It doesn't really effect his record at all
I feel a little bit bad for Maruyama given he's always pitted against Abe, both are just so good
For me... maruyama is the true spirit of judo.. while abe of a warrior.. personally i like maruyama a lot more

I heard he had some bad blood with Nomura, the only Japanese judoka to hold 3 gold medals. I’m curious if the fourth gold medal is to spite Nomura.

@ the record doesn’t clear because of your opinion… Apparently, he got burned by Nomura after doing an instructional video years ago.
