I'm building a 370 inch LS swapped Ford Ranger 2wd standard cab short bed and I have all the bits to start building my x pipe to spintech 6000s exhaust. While I know LS engines don't sound like SBC I am super excited after watching this to see what I end up with! Nova sounds bad ass sir!
I can say this. I’ve been watching videos on the 9000’s for a few weeks trying to decide. I wanted to change up a little on my 77 trans am with a Pontiac 400. I put these on yesterday and already taking them back off. They sound nothing like I thought they would. I have an h pipe which might have something to do with it. But also the splitter tips have some effect on sound. So I’m going back to my dynomax ultra flo welded
@@ekud32 I wish I took a clip but I didn’t. It’s a bit hard to explain. But just think of a flow master 40. But baffle it times 10 and make it louder. It had a terrible crackling noise on rev and hard acceleration. I would say go for it only if you find your exact car on here for sound comparison. It’s possible it was because of the h pipe. Or my header or tip setup? I have long tube and the splitter tips so it alters it a little bit.
There are five different models of spintech 6000s The 6441 through 6445 which model spintech 6000s are those and are they straight in straight out or offset?
Some dynomax race bullets they didn't do much. I'm gonna redo the exhaust here soon I got some northeastern 12" resonators and I'm gonna use the 6000's without an x pipe I may add an h pipe. Just trying to tone it down a bit
Current is the 6000s and the X? If it is the X gives it a higher note, more Exotic/European tone. Straight pipe and no crossover is old school Nascar-ish Offshore Cigarette Boat sound... Especially with the 9000s lol
Yes currently is the 6000 and x pipe. The 9000's even with resonators was too loud and very droney. I'm still not sure about the 6000's with x pipe very little no drone but sounds weird to me almost European like you said. I guess people will wonder what the heck is in it 😂
I know Craig909 has an X and the Blackwidow Neighbor haters on his small block F100 and it has that higher pitch to it. Cross between Euro/NASCAR Just depends on what youre going after, an old Muscle car should be lopy popcorn and dirty sounding, with the "Hot for Teacher" idle lol but thats the norm. I have a single 6000 2.5' with stock manifold and the stock Y pipe. Not making a ton of power to warrant duals, yet lol Sounds way better in person than videos I know that from experience
@@vwgli16vracer Between your powertrain combo and the era of your Nova, it lends itself to be the old school sound. Sometimes it easier not to force it into a different style, if that makes sense lol

Did you have to use centered or offsets ? About to do mine on my 72 Nova and not sure which set i need to order for them to fit in front of the axle

What's the difference between offset & centered? Does it change the sound or what? No one can ever seem to give me an answer for this question
6000 sounds crisp and cleaner but the 9000 has more bass but not clean
I'm gonna get rid of x pipe keep 6000's and add some resonators. Hoping that will make me happy.

Yes long tubes the resonates where just the dynomax race bullets and the mufflers are spin tech 9000

Absolutely hate the X pipe sound. Makes a V8 sound like a V6. Not for me.
I agree that why I have bought a other exhaust kit to get tried of the x pipe. Do you think and h pipe would sound ok?
