possibly. this video is about how adulthood interferes with the ability to have fun and high schoolers typically don’t have adult responsibilities so they are able to do fun things-moral of the story: don’t waste your youth
Same, nothing fun about it, just leads to dreadful realizations and crippling existential crises about the future. Being a teenager is actually pretty scary
i wasn’t depressed but that’s how i felt for me. not like it was graduation or anything plus i didn’t have many friends that went to the same school as me so i just went home feeling at peace ✌🏽
My high school graduation was during COVID. I remember I had to pick up my diploma at school, then just walked out. No graduation, couldn’t talk to anybody, nothing. Just done. College at least I had a movie night with the bois before commencement. So I feel ya.
Lol, that quiet "thank you" as you hand in your last final and everything is super quiet and you're just walking back to your dorm in quiet contemplation bc campus is empty with everyone either gone or taking their own finals is such a depressing vibe. Bringing back my college depression 😅
That post college existential dread is pretty real. For many it’s the first time being let loose into the world without the preexisting structure school provided. It was when I realized for the first time that “damn, I’m actually getting older and have to be an adult now.”
The year I graduated college I got pregnant accidentally, my husband came down with a debilitating case of bipolar, and I had to try to get a job to support him and the baby even though it was right at the worst part of the Great Recession (2009). Nearing 30 I really do wish I could go back in time and enjoy it more. I'm not old by any means and I can still have fun, but there's something about the innocence of pre-college I can't return to.
If it makes you feel better that's not everyone experience anyways. I spent my summers alone and hated them. I wasn't going to party's or hanging with friends. I was waiting for school to start so I could have some social interaction. I like being a adult. Being a child is only fun if the other children want you
I'm already pass my 30s and actually went back a few years ago to take another degree. It was fun studying again, not having to worry about the adult parts of life. 😔
I really don’t understand people who can say this because highschool for me was a living nightmare, imagine breakfest club but its just everyone in the entire school to some degree or another
@@sovietunion7643 It depends on your high school. But I too miss it. My grandparents were still around back then. And it was also a lot easier to meet up with friends. Once your an adult. One friend moves abroad, another has overtime, one works nightshift, and you get it. High school you could meet up almost whenever. Now? Maybe once or twice a year.
There are times I wish I could do more pre-college. I was usually booked up helping around the farm and getting ready for fair. Didn't really go anywhere or got to see anything. Times when I went somewhere where mainly due to school trips or sporting events.
The last week of school, students don't show up so that the teachers can't give you any extra "busy" work, so we'd just be exempt from it if we're not there 💀

I'm really blessed... my friends in college always stay a couple of extra days together so we can do the things we've wanted to do together but couldn't during the semester. No drinking. And whenever I go home I'm sad to leave my college friends but I knew I had a really good community at my church back home to go to whom I love just as much. College, in session or out of session was such a wonderful season for my life.
This is so true. I remember my batch's last day of college was us submitting our thesis to the office and we all said "Can't believe our last day of college, after 4 years, ended just like that on a random Thursday".
When your in the last year of a school like 5th, 8th or 12th and you graduate you feel sad and miss those old days with all your friends and everyone, and you have to keep going on in life without them.
Painfully true -- all your college friends finish finals at diferent times so half of them are home by the time you're done and you're home before the other half finish exams.
Being at college was the free-est feeling I've ever felt, especially considering my toxic 'home' with my parents that I'm stuck with now. This made my college more of a home than home itself, even though I dreaded the exhausting workloads. Heck, I even actually made friends for once that I could see pretty much daily; whereas in highschool I didn't really have a group to hang out with but still enjoyed everyones' company.
My last year of high school was this year in May and it was much the same I think the happiest part of the last day of school was spending time with my friends at lunch one last time before we all went out different ways
In my country we do something called final exam dress up days It's different for every department but mine this year was, Exam 1-jersey, exam 2- Native attire, 3- variety jacket and 4- sign out. Sign out is where all final year students wear white shirts to their last exam and after the exam, people (family, friends, course mates) sign on the shirt with a marker as you come out of the exam hall. This year's sign out was especially bloody cause people were getting proposed to, being gifted money bouquets (of millions btw), being surprised with cakes and other things. Like wtf The oppression was real, so I chose to surprise myself by eating as many people's cakes as I could since no one got me a surprise cake 😂. My department did an after-party at a club tho so I guess I'll give them that If I were to say the difference between the highschool and university one then it'd be that, The highschool one we lived in the same city so I could still see my friends but in the college one we all came from different cities so the only chances of seeing friends is until we do project defense or if they have plans to work around the university area for a while, after that they've all gone to their cities and states
get ready for a LOT more of "sorry i cant hang out" as you get past college. choose your friends wisely as it will take a un binding resolution to get them to hang out. Yes they still like you and miss you. You'll inevitably understand.
It hurted me to do that, especially to the foreign language work because I knew I wouldn't have the time to sit down and actually try to learn another language 😢
I never did that. I still have all my paper handouts and notes since 9th grade. Im in college right now, and I see that those information repeats itself and its nice to go refrence them every once in a while
Yh, which is why I'm staying back at my university area for a while. Maybe for like a year or so cause it's a good Business hotspot. I also made a few solid connections so I'd like to see where that takes me
I love how this video can be interpreted in two ways. 1, high schoolers celebrate more chaotically because of how stressful school is so they value their vacation like it's some kind of divine blessing 2, college student is just numb because it sucked his soul out of him and he got used to the never ending hell that awaits
This makes me consider ending my life right after college. I’m in the last year of high school rn and everything sucks, but I still wanna try one last time for a college experience. Just to see what I could’ve missed. After that, I may write and go around a bit, then I’m done.
Ikr, 2hrs after my final exam as I walked home I just thought to myself. "Damn, I'm in the inexcusable adult world now aren't I? I can no longer use the I'm still a kid or a student excuse 😢"
I was SO happy when I graduated HS, couldn't wait to start college! Loved my college years! College went out on a whimper. Then the post-college depression, the hard work and the party's over.
I cried so hard at/after my high school graduation for so many reasons 😅 saying goodbye to everything you've known for the last 4 years is very exciting and extremely difficult
So true. I was so thrilled and pumped leaving high school and leaving college was just kind of a bittersweet goodbye. I did have a super difficult paper for a super hard class due on my last day though so it definitely made it more of a relief and not as painful to leave and be done as it might’ve been. Don’t miss those long difficult college papers one bit and happy to say goodbye to them!
What I remember are all the dorm students trying to move out and regretting being on an upper floor when the elevators were full every time the doors opened. I still remember a dad in a parking lot asking his wife, 'It took just one SUV to move our daughter in last fall. How are we filling up two SUVs at the end of the year?'
As someone who is actively in both high school and college, I’ve seen both instances occur in the last three months alone. I much prefer the last day of college classes than high school for the sole purpose in nobody is knocking me over just to leave lol
I remember turning in an assignment at the last day of college after an exam because I forgot it existed. The walk back from the professor's office never felt this anticlimactic.
from the day you were born till the day you die, you are always growing up and growing up means gaining and losing experience, when your done with something, it’s something to remember for the rest of your life, and if you use that wisely, you can do a lot of things in your life that you thought you would never be able to do, but once you lose it, it’s gone, and you will remember that for life, don’t take the skills you have for granted because one day, they will cease to exist and there is nothing you can do about it

5) college grads will mostly like move back into their parents' house which already makes them feel like a failure, plus nobody wants to live with their parents as a young adult.
6) college grads begin rethinking their life choices, such as if they wasted their college years studying the wrong subject, or if they should've followed their dreams.
@@handsomemac1621i have entered a good uni in another country, got into MIS oriented degree instead of CS(have no experience in it btw) Kinda nervous about future, hope it would be a nice jorney
There is no joke here, its just real
Cherish your high school days. Uni hits different. Working life just hits hard.
Nah it depends with people, my high-school graduation felt just like the college one in the video, it was pretty miserable but I'm so much happier in college now
Just focus on the present and enjoy all of the little moments :)
I actually felt more depressed in high school, but uni is definitely also a hard time
I missed 3 years of highschool cuz of that damn virus, in a blink of an eye im already at college
I’m never gonna cherish high school I’m just gonna enjoy college instead
Tf kinda drugs are you on?! High school is one of the worst parts of growing up. I’d rather die than go through that shit again.
Bro I’m in high school and tbh I’ve never had a more relatable last day than the college clips 💀💀
When I finished high school it felt like the college one, must've been the depression LOL
Yep
possibly. this video is about how adulthood interferes with the ability to have fun and high schoolers typically don’t have adult responsibilities so they are able to do fun things-moral of the story: don’t waste your youth
I feel this sooooo much. College ends and suddenly you gotta find a real job, apply to places, and hopefully go somewhere good
Realities much more harsher than this short video everyone, unless your someone who already has things sorted out, good for you 🥺
Lol, that quiet "thank you" as you hand in your last final and everything is super quiet and you're just walking back to your dorm in quiet contemplation bc campus is empty with everyone either gone or taking their own finals is such a depressing vibe. Bringing back my college depression 😅
Damn this is accurate. Especially when your finished with all your finals but your friends still have some to take
It really is that unceremonious. I remember turning in my last final, whispering thank you and walking off campus for the last time.
The classic "I'm gonna live forever!!" Versus "I wish I'd die this Tuesday."
Dude there are plenty of depressed suicidal MFs in highschool did everyone but me have highschool located at the ‘highschool musical’ movies?💀
Even now I can hardly imagine how I got through it. I’m surprised ALL of my hair isn’t gray already really
I'm currently unemployed so this video hit me in my soul. To anyone who just attends uni, apply for a position in school clubs or do many extracurricular activities as they'll help you a lot in finding a job. I who didn't attend any struggles so fking much
This video has filled me with a profound sadness for times gone by. Thanks guys
The last day of high school is always so unhinged 😭
Made me sad how accurate this is
people say grace is so committed, but julia just jumped into a wall to show the level of excitement for summer 😭😭
edit: i’m not putting them against each other, just appreciating julia’s commitment as well
Wow she bumped the wall she’s so committed

"I don't wanna leave my hometown is so boring" hit too close to home
This so real it made me tear up recalling those days. HS and college was so long ago now, I would love to experience it once again.
“PARTY AT MY HOUSE” and everyone raging 😭😭
thank you captain obvious!! anything else you would like to share with the class 😁
@@kanyemiddleeast9897Ooo I have one, you’re a piece of ****
@@kanyemiddleeast9897is this your first day in a comment section?

@kanyemiddleeast9897 When a person quotes part of the video, it goes without saying that the reason they're commenting is to share that they liked the part they quoted. They're not trying to state the obvious.
"You never know how good you had it til you lose it"
The last week of school, students don't show up so that the teachers can't give you any extra "busy" work, so we'd just be exempt from it if we're not there 💀
That only works in highschool by the way… in college the last days are usually exams or turning it final projects that are majority of your grade.
@@bunnylacy2097 Yah, I'm aware, I didn't specify it, but I'm in High School myself, and that's what I'm referring to
For me, in my high school we can leave only if we have an off period or a free period in our schedule
My last day of highschool was exams actually lol😂
@@bunnylacy2097 Man that was how my highschool was like
this just depressed me... keep up the good work y'all
Graduated college last year, working is so boring😭 but I prefer it a lot more than having to worry about homework and exams although I have the ocasional nightmare from time to time.
i feel this on a physical, mental, emotional and every other concievable level that one could think of.
SO MUCH.
It's just like "this is my life now" and you're so real for that
Bro you guys are lucky in some Asian countries there are like 2 very important graduation exams known as O/L and A/L if you messed up one then your gone, and I am from a country like that so wish me luck😅❤
STOPPP
This is my last year at college and now I'm sad
My high school was pretty similar to the college one. We just have exams the last two weeks.
My last year of high school was this year in May and it was much the same
I think the happiest part of the last day of school was spending time with my friends at lunch one last time before we all went out different ways
In my country we do something called final exam dress up days
It's different for every department but mine this year was, Exam 1-jersey, exam 2- Native attire, 3- variety jacket and 4- sign out.
I even heard a particular faculty's students actually bought a fucking RAM. Like wtf
The oppression was real, so I chose to surprise myself by eating as many people's cakes as I could since no one got me a surprise cake 😂.
My department did an after-party at a club tho so I guess I'll give them that
If I were to say the difference between the highschool and university one then it'd be that, The highschool one we lived in the same city so I could still see my friends but in the college one we all came from different cities so the only chances of seeing friends is until we do project defense or if they have plans to work around the university area for a while, after that they've all gone to their cities and states
get ready for a LOT more of "sorry i cant hang out" as you get past college. choose your friends wisely as it will take a un binding resolution to get them to hang out. Yes they still like you and miss you. You'll inevitably understand.
Yeah even in college it’s this way. People just start doing adult things and taking shit seriously. No more goofing around for 3 days straight.
THIS IS REALISTIC 👍🏻
Throwing all your papers and all the information your learned is so real.
It hurted me to do that, especially to the foreign language work because I knew I wouldn't have the time to sit down and actually try to learn another language 😢
I never did that. I still have all my paper handouts and notes since 9th grade. Im in college right now, and I see that those information repeats itself and its nice to go refrence them every once in a while
This might be the realest thing I've ever seen.
The quietly walking out...I felt that in my soul.
Pitty that my last year of hs was online school, so none of this was part of me 😢
"We're gonna live forever" followed by the sad lonely drive home is a real gut punch, thanks for the reminders lads 🤙🤙
do u know what the song is?
@@frogandtoady nope, sorry
"damn I don't wanna come back at my hometown nothing happens here"
Yeah I feel you man.
Yh, which is why I'm staying back at my university area for a while. Maybe for like a year or so cause it's a good Business hotspot.
I also made a few solid connections so I'd like to see where that takes me
Last day of school:😏👍😁😄😆
Last day of school forever:😢😭😢
THE SAD MUSIC AT THE END 💀💀
Name?
NAME?
Yeah name?
Did anyone ever figure out the name?
Was half expecting it to end with “I’m gonna die alone”
I love how this video can be interpreted in two ways.
1, high schoolers celebrate more chaotically because of how stressful school is so they value their vacation like it's some kind of divine blessing
2, college student is just numb because it sucked his soul out of him and he got used to the never ending hell that awaits
International students getting kicked out right after the last exam and taking 12 hour flight home be like
Must be really hard for them . 😕
This is the realest one yet 😂
This makes me consider ending my life right after college. I’m in the last year of high school rn and everything sucks, but I still wanna try one last time for a college experience. Just to see what I could’ve missed. After that, I may write and go around a bit, then I’m done.
Feel the same as you, you're not alone
“Oh shit do I have to live in the real world now”
Ikr, 2hrs after my final exam as I walked home I just thought to myself.
"Damn, I'm in the inexcusable adult world now aren't I? I can no longer use the I'm still a kid or a student excuse 😢"
😭 that last scene is too real
this vid gave me the anxiety that I dont need rn
HS is knowing they facing a freedom (even not as expected) college is knowing they facing a real life
man this short is like a stab in the heart and the comments recounting back the experiences is the knife twist💔
Crazy enough the college version of ending school feel more like my high school graduation when I graduated
In my 50's and this still hits
Perfectly captured the eerie, empty feeling of leaving the building after your last exam
Also Julia running directly into the wall😂
So real. Left quietly on my last day of college and felt far more melancholy than I expected
Grace is gorgeous and has impeccable facial features. Like an actress from the 30’s
As someone who is actively in both high school and college, I’ve seen both instances occur in the last three months alone. I much prefer the last day of college classes than high school for the sole purpose in nobody is knocking me over just to leave lol
Wanting to hang out with your friends but they still have exams next week while you’ve been done with all your names on one day hits hard😭
Jokes on you I didn’t have any friends in high school so my graduation was exactly the same as my college one! Hahahaha…..
😢😢
to the first person, itwas his happiest day. for the second person, it was a thursday 😢
nah literally me last week bro 😭 walked back home in complete silence and had to start packing my bags with nothing to look forward to 😁🔫
The “thank you” ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I remember turning in an assignment at the last day of college after an exam because I forgot it existed. The walk back from the professor's office never felt this anticlimactic.
i appreciate that you clarified in the top left which was hs and which was college but this was so painfully accurate i don't think it was needed 😂
You forgot the Good Riddance blasting through the halls in every highschool in unison.
from the day you were born till the day you die, you are always growing up and growing up means gaining and losing experience, when your done with something, it’s something to remember for the rest of your life, and if you use that wisely, you can do a lot of things in your life that you thought you would never be able to do, but once you lose it, it’s gone, and you will remember that for life, don’t take the skills you have for granted because one day, they will cease to exist and there is nothing you can do about it
The quiet thank you to the professor is too real
