Being 21 minutes into the video you have missed to mention a few things so lets start from the beginning : You forgot to mention the fact that your VM which you promoted to DC was already connected to the network via Extrnal Switch, then regarding OU you forgot to mention that GPO's are applied to UO's not user directly and forgot to mention AGP practice which mean Account gets added to the group and then all needed permissions are assign to the group not user directly etc etc
