My mother lived in Florida during WW2 and she always talked about butter fish. Now back here in North Carolina when I would catch Pompano and take her some she would always call them butter fish and in turn I would refer to them as butter fish. Even as we get old we learn something new everyday. Thanks JC.👍
Once, I was snorkling near the pier at St. Andrews State Park, and I noticed several sheepshead about 3 or 4 pilings behind where everyone was fishing.
Hi JC! Hey brother great video! Facinating and entertaining. I was given a "Deeper" sonar camera that apparently gives you great video. I got it last Christmas from my mother in law. The only problem is i havent been able to use it yet lol. Hopefully ill be able to explore with it soon! Take good care JC. Tight Lines!
I Googled the butterfish to find out about them as well after I couldn't find them in Fish Rules. I don't know if you saw it, but Google said that they are of excellent eating quality, and that they're not overfished and there's a good stock of them, so, maybe you ought to try to do a butterfish catch and cook sometime for us.
Hey JC, an old timer showed me trick to keep shrimp alive, have you heard of this? 1. Small cooler, ice on bottom 2. Wet rag over ice 3. Live shrimp on top of rag 4.Wet rag on top of shrimp. They will stay live for couple days, no water, no aerator, no batteries. Place cooler in fridge over night.
I know I missed you the rest of the week but we got no more reds on the pier they kept taking us straight to the pullers but that’s some good footage and have safe travels
Thanks for the update. It was great meeting you. There was a school of about twenty bull reds that came through one morning when I was up there, but they wouldn't come close enough to get Gopro footage.
@@RadReelingFishing I would of love to of seen them on the pier but it was a great time meeting you hopefully you got back safely we blew a transmission on the way back and had to make a stop in Louisiana so this had been quite the experience
This is fascinating!! I am down here on vacation but from Myrtle Beach . I am not a fisher but I love the waterways & swimming. Thank you for sharing this video I have never seen this before with a GoPro
can you see realtime when the gopro is underwater? I think you would need a cable connected to the gopro that would still allow it to be waterproof, the cable would half to be interfaced with a bluetooth connection module that would connect to the phone. It would have to be like this drone's portable interface ruclips.net/video/Zy0Wm1Lkeao/видео.html

I haven't been there in a year and a half . Since all the nonsense. Is there a military base around or does everyone have lots of fire works there . I couldn't sleep for the life of me . I thought it was Iraq
I’m surprised they let the guy clean his fish at the cleaning station. They’ve gotten strict about having people dump fish carcasses into the water. I’ve been there several times when someone tried and the PA turns on and the pier staff blasts the person for cleaning their fish there.
Well done! Always memorizing

Excellent video I love it
Very informative. I always wonder what was swimming around and see where
Panama City Beach Pier is a great place to fish, I was just there in June.
It’s really cool that you are up here fishing close to my home. You did a great job with the underwater video bro.

Awesome footage 👍
Ha! You can buy butter fish by the flat. We use them for tuna fishing when we are chunking.
Cool video JC I can't believe it's not butter lol. Back to a slump down here zero fish. ✌️
I feel I am right there with you.
Awesome video
I've read about people fishing in an almost frenzy in the Outer Banks when butter fish show up. They're supposed to be really tasty. Cool video!

In 2019 i caught a cow fish off that pier. The fish you called a file fish in the video looks more like a cowfish to me
