Don't be afraid! And I remembered on the documentary about Jim Henson on Disney plus, this face was on there. It's just 3 rubber bands being 2 eyes and 1 mouth.
Caroll Spinney told me Jim Henson and someone else went down to Computer Image back in 1971 or 1972 to make this using the first Scanimate built. He told me the voice acting was done "by a radio DJ" who I later realized was NYC announcer Rosko, AKA William Roscoe Mercer.
I used to get right up close to the screen when this was on to prove I wasn't scared of it. My mom was like don't get so close to the TV it's got radiation

Who thought this would be a good thing to show to pre-schoolers? I could see this on Courage the Cowardly dog, or something meant for slightly older audiences, but this was meant to be seen by kids who weren't even old enough to read!
I got 2 seconds through the video before pausing it and sweating.
These fascinated me as a kid. So wicked cool!
This legit spooked me on the fact that he’s just NOBODY
Is he the same as THIS guy?

Imagine how much Scanimate was used to make this, if they even used Scanimate!

There is such a thing as too much Scanimate, and here it is.

How can sesame Street make this for Children?
Hm, I’m still a fan of nobody since I was young.
Although it gave my nightmares, heh.
I used to call his voice a "demonic" voice LOL. Most of Rosko's other spoken word stuff is pretty chill compared to this. He made some cool records.
it gives me undertale vibes tbh. suuuper disturbing
I had my 4 year old daughter watch it when it was finished she just said oh cool with a smile maybe shes creepy or this aint scary
Hey, Curt Wakeman, where’s this short taken from?
Why does everyone say this is creepy. Somehow this guys voice as well as the terrible audio quality is almost like asmr for me.
i like it tbh
