question, it says spear 1 (auto attack) has a range form and it has a lower cast time than the melee form, would staying in range form be a dps increase?
You can hover over the condition duration in stat panel and look at individual conditions 57.2% is the base for most conditions but you have a bunch of traits and food increasing specific conditions only, some of which aren't even reflected on the stats panel 57.2% + 10% ( Corruption: Yearning Empowerment ) + 15% ( Corruption: Pact of Pain, not shown on stats ) + 15% ( Torment food ) = 82% torment duration shown but in reality 97% why you have only 56.86% instead of 57.2% I don't know though, is all your gear ascended and with viper stats ?
i'm really enjoying the spear rev gameplay, i just hope they don't crush it into the ground because its overperforming currently.. i actually enjoy the animations and feel of spear. afraid of what they'll do to it

It has a lower chance of being picked in spite of being meta because it's unpopular because of its core mechanics, simply. Edit: just took into account your point about it not being a free-to-play profession, you're right about that, we'd need to check the stats again to see if even having paid the game changes whether people play revenant more or not.
I hope it does not get the same treatment as the thief spear with 58k damage version, now it is nerfed to the ground.Let the at least Rev has a good condi spear.

How can they get numbers this wrong, it's insane. Devs that don't play their own game. The lack of weapon swap makes this not just broken but also effortless to pick up for anyone.
I agree, I would actually like to see dps dropped significantly but it's unlikely to happen. Anet wants to make instanced content easy enough that the people who think 8k dps is "great" can get through it, they have inflated the dps towards that goal and it has broken the game for the people who know how to take advantage of it.
@@CosmikVoyager the only way it may works for them to not lose endgame players that dont want it instance content so free and make it easy for newcomers is to add instance content more frequent and make it harder, more hp bosses, more mechanics, harder hits, more 1shot mechanics. That would let casual people do old stuff and get used to mechanics and for people who wants challange there will be new bossess. And they could buff professions everythime they add new stuff. But what they are doing nowadays they make this game not enjoyable to play for everyone that spend there over 4k hours

Its actually the other way around. The ranged has a 3/4 second cast time and the melee has a 1/2 second cast time
