hi mate, good work as usual. for the inside of the radiator tanks, I use a surface tolerant epoxy (International paints is Interseal 670, Dulux is STE ) Penrite make a "coolant for older engines" it doesn't lower the coefficient and allow it to run out places that water won't like coolant does, but it does provide corrosion protection..
Dad always added water pump lubricant with rust inhibitor even though our tractors did not have water pumps and changed out out the antifreeze every couple a years. As always great videos!!
I just had the rad shop where i live build me a new rad core for my Twin City 17-28. It wasn't cheap but nice to be able to have a local shop build one, and is exactly like the original. But even they are saying repairing and building rads here is a dying art. In the province of Saskatchewan were I'm from the rad shop was saying we have gone from 4 or 5 good rad shops to 2 that can do such work. Thats unfortunate. As always keep up the good work!
you might look into Evans anti corrosive waterless coolant. It boils at 375° & wont develop system pressure, never needs to be renewed & they say is non toxic. Jay leno had some vids awhile back on it. Good luck finding a radiator shop. Along time ago, I went to a rad shop down the street from me to boil out a gas tank from a 39 Studebaker Commander Business coupe, but they too closed their doors due to new housing development environment concerns...
After a few seconds, I chuckled and said because "it's original". Then you said the same. Neat. Repaired header plates and I can go back to original on my baby. General Radiator in Chicago used to be a go-to for new cores to our liking. I can't find them anymore... Fuzzy's in Texas?
Can you use glyptal paint? Inside the radiator that is. I know it’s used inside trans cases and rearend cases but maybe it’s ok for them radiator tanks
That was a thought I had, but was not sure. I was talking with a friend today about this, and we think we have a product that will work well for this application. I'll keep you all posted of course.

Thanks, I'll have to look into that.

If it's good enough for Jay, and the rare stuff he has, it must be good stuff.

I would love to hear more specifics on how you repair cores Duey!
There is nothing in Montana I ran into the same problem
