    I clean my bathroom everyday, change my sheets once a week, my comforter once a month and clean them, make my bed everyday, dust every week, do not keep dishes in the sink, vacuum once a week, do laundry every week, do not have clutter, empty trash everyday, wash windows and change curtains twice a year and wash them, wash my car every 2 weeks, very neat, orderly, nice large apartment...love it!

    Definitely agree with all these tips! I find the following works for me:
    - Always make my bed, and pick things that don't belong in my room before I head downstairs in the morning
    - Always clean the kitchen in the morning, and never leave dishes in the sink after cooking, or before sleeping.
    - Do laundry weekly, so it doesn't build up.
    - Never leave things in rooms where it doesn't belong.
    That way I can do a deeper clean once a week with vacuuming, dusting, washrooms, sheets, etc - stuff you don't do on the daily. Doesn't take long though!
    :)

    Great video! As always 😘
    Actually I feel like being a “clean” person and being a “tidy” person are different. I think that being tidy means you pick up and put stuff away and you generally make your house look “neat and tidy” or make your house look “clean”, but if it’s not something you or other people can see then you don’t really bother to clean it often or at all. But I think being a clean person means that you clean all areas whether you or other people can see it/notice it or not. But I feel like Being “clean” or “tidy” is definitely a spectrum, though, and you are the first person I have heard say that!! Thanks for the great video! You always get me so motivated to clean and organize!

      see if you can restructure your day.. like if you need time by yourself schedule it when your kids are sleeping or watching a 30 min show..plan "fun" things with your children & be present like coloring or legos and plan meals around food you enjoy eating. I have a similar situation and I am constantly reminding myself to do things that make me happy. Also see if there are other moms you can connect with and plan things with. My friend has 2 kids and I took my kids to her house & we watched them play together. (she lives in the country with no neighbors and so it was alot easier to avoid covid that way) If you need a break see if you can find a drop in day care & take a few hours to yourself. Take care of yourself. Your kids love & need you.

    I think overwhelmed should be a category. Don’t know where to start. Especially in my sons room toys. Toys are taking over.

    • @momof4loves842
      @momof4loves842 5 лет назад +9

      Rebecca Freidel what helped me (because I’m easily overwhelmed by clutter) is just do either of these. 1.) set a timer and pick an area of the room to work on. Do it everyday, the same area until done. It doesn’t have to be a long time either 15-30 minutes. Then stop. Or 2.) Just pick one section of the room, divide the room into quarters or thirds depending on the size of the room or even smaller, and just clean and declutter that area until completed. Next day pick another section and repeat. Do it everyday until room is completed. Then to keep it from becoming a mess again, only allow things in the room that serve a purpose and only things that add value or true joy to your life-the rest pitch. Good Luck!

    • @momof4loves842
      @momof4loves842 5 лет назад +4

      Forgot to add, at least half the toys can be pitched/donated, the other half put them in storage bins and only have one to two bins out at a time. Make a rule that they have to be put them away every day. If they can pull the toys out, they can put them away. Then rotate the bins every so often. It’s like getting new toys every time you rotate the bins. Also, pay attention to the toys they aren’t playing with. Donate all toys not played with, pitch the broken or missing part/s toys.

    Ugh if i could even keep one room as beautiful as your whole house....now that would make me feel tidy!!

  • @heartbreakbrook
    @heartbreakbrook 5 лет назад +18

    My top tips for keeping myself accountable:
    "Why not now?" Aka, if I can't come up with a legitimate reason that I can't do something right now (injury, leaving the house soon, headache, don't have the right tools), then I have absolutely no excuse for not doing it right now. This works most of the time.
    The other, which is similar, is the two minute rule. This works much better for me. Basically if it takes less than two minutes to do, don't leave it for later. Do it now. Usually this ends up with me flurrying around the house doing little two minutes tasks because I felt so good about the first one that I end up going on a tidying spree.
    I'm naturally a neat freak but my husband is naturally between a slob and messy, so my house ends up usually tidy but occasionally (like if we're working on a project, such as painting a room) cleanish. 😫 I'm lucky to have a husband who tackles the dishes, the laundry, and the vacuuming himself, so the rest is up to me. However, if something is directly his doing, I've learned to just ask him to take care of it, also he will usually right then and there as long as it's a small task, (like the grimy cupboard handles because he doesn't wash his hands while he cooks, just before and after).

    Id say I'm now tidy. I have a housekeeper now who does most of the cleaning and other housework all I have to do is the laundry, we are a family of 7 and I work 60+ hours a week. It's really nice to have someone come in and just clean everything every evening, and it forces us to keep the house tidy as it has to be tidy for her to clean. I would highly recommend getting someone on to help with your housework to anyone who is finding it tricky to balance work family life and keeping a nice home if it's in your budget. These tips are great for keeping a tidy home. Thank you

    You have the best idea. If you try and do all your cleaning in one go it puts you off. I’m training my self to do a bit of cleaning in the morning then have the afternoon free. Also it’s great to see you training the kids to clear up after themselves. People who clear up after their kids just raise lazy untidy adults.

    With kids it's so hard but if you declutter, contain and control their stuff, it gets easier. My kids have few good toys in their play area and that is it. It got to the point where they were taking my house over with stuff everywhere and I felt like no adults lived there. It's a home not a playground. Went back to basics and I'm loving it. great tips. I’m in the tidy zone lol constantly picking up after myself, husband and two girls, I strongly agree with de cluttering and donating which I do once a month. I realize having a 13 year old and a 2 year old we go through stuff quickly and need to donate monthly. One thing that I live by is what my grandmother has taught me at a young age and that’s to get up and do what you have to do whatever that may be including cleaning then you can sit down and relax. Hearing you say that reminded me of her. Thank you for the great content ❤️

    Thanks for a great video. I had the motto of the past years that if one thing did not fit, one could make room for it or throw something else out. And if I buy something new, two things will go out, just so it won't be crowded at home. But then I had children and my motivation fell. Now everyone has moved away from home so now I am taking control back. So nice to get some points to help me get back to what I once was :)

    Used to be a messy person just because im lazy. Hated doing cleaning in parts cause i felt like im burdened everytime vs doing a big general cleaning which we know we dont have time for. Also, putting things back to its proper place always used to make me find things harder / forget they existed but I realized it only takes a little more concious effort in remembering and a little motivation. Now im between a clean-ish and neat person. All I need to learn now is time management so I can get a lot more done

      Reward system maybe? Took their phones and just get them back when they finish their chores or TV time or any activity that they enjoy they get after they complete their chores. Also maybe make a visual schedule or chore chart so they can look what they have to do.
