They are such hyper little fellows. They are all over the forest in Wyoming and I always wonder how those poor little things make it through the winter. It is so kind of you to help this little kid out with some steak. I can just hear it with its friends… “you will not believe what I ate all winter”

Thank you for sharing this video. I was raised with the belief that ermine changed into weasels. Today after watching your video I Googled ermine and weasels and found out they are two different species from the same family. The way your ermine changed colors was my first clue. Loved the video! I'm seventy-three never to old to learn something new!
It lifts my heart and soul to see wildlife and all nature being treated as it should be. Animals, birds, insects, trees and all manner of nature was here long before we were. They are the true owners of this planet (my belief). Thank you for looking after them Lisette 😊

Lisette, your little Ermine friend will be back in the fall. She knows where she/he has it good, shelter and food it doesn't have to work for, what more could a little Ermine want or need. When it returns don't be surprised if it brings her kids. The first winter is the riskiest time for young Ermine with 60% dying of cold, starvation and predators. So, one fine fall day if you suddenly see three or four Ermine in the woodshed you'll know she brought her babies with her to shelter over the winter. And I know you will not only not mind but be absolutely thrilled. You are a good and kind soul Lisette, that's why the critter seek you out. At Fort Benning, we spent 3 straight weeks a month in the woods training…felt good to get back and shower and shave…and this is camping per se’…River crossings…simulated combat…at McDill Air Force Base…we were told of 5 of the deadliest snakes who lived there in the woods…a time or two in the high desert of California at Fort Irwin we made camp at 3 AM…in the freezing rain…most of just laid down and covered up with ponchos…in Germany, again it was maneuvering in the wet muddy conditions as a batallion…and it took 3 to 4 days of cleaning our vehicles before they could be loaded onto trains…my point is…I have spent the better part of my life in nature…with critters and things that don’t let you live…a snake we called a step and a half…because that was all you had left…nature can be beautiful and quite alluring and hypnotic..did it before and I could again…
