@@xyhc The language barrier is a huge deal for a representative of North America. The Peruvian showed she is more worldly, not only that, but it is well known that a bilingual person has a larger conceptual framework and can handle two world views. There was absolutely none of the context you provide in Ms. Mexico's answer, none whatsoever. What do you tell a victim? There is nothing you can tell them, you can only inspire them to be the heroes of their own story. She spoke from her heart and was empathetic because she has also suffered the same abuse, but the point is that it did not break her, it actually made her strive for more. If I can do it, so can you is the message. Reference to a public institution? Really? You are saying "you need help, so you should call 1-800- helpline"? Not good at all.

Dominican Republic (overtime, not answering the questions 8.2, second statement not complete enough but calm and graceful under pressure 8.4)

Peru has the most straightforward answer.
She delivered it sweetly
What affected Peru, was that she lost poise and elegance while answering.
She talked more like a politician in election times. I think that she exaggerated her gestures and tone of voice.
What affected her the most is that she did not respond the question made. She confused the tenses.
Question:
What would you say to the woman, watching tonight, that is CURRENTLY suffering sexual or domestic violence?
She answered that she admires their strenght and that they are heroes. Then she said she is the heroe of her own story.
But actually she did not respond the question. In her answer, she was refering to a woman that already overcame that hard situation.
The question was about a woman that is suffering in the PRESENT.
So it is very weird to tell a suffering woman that she is a heroe when she is not a hero yet.
The best answer for me would be to tell that woman that she is not alone and not to lose hope. Then help her with practical actions: inform that there are public institutions and ONGs willing to help her, take her there and get her legal and psychological help, etc
Also, when she was asked about climate change, she confused that with pollution.
Climate change and pollution is not the same thing. The firts one is a consequence and the second one is a cause.
She was very basic and cliche with her answer about recycling, etc. I admit this can help to prevent pollution but at a small scale. Then she said the phrase " little by little".
This is not correct, on the contrary, changes need to be done ASAP.
Things need to be done NOW not little by little.
If we do it little by little, the earth and the humand kind will be extinct sooner.
At this point, climate change prevention needs greater things to be done like involving goverments and the industrial companies to make a greater impact.
Because we (the people) can recycle and clean our streets, beaches and forests but it will not make a significant impact if big companies and industrial countries keep polluting and poisoning the planet at a larger scale just for wealth.
These are the reasons why, in my opinion, Peru did not win. She got easy questions and gave basic confusing answers.
@@xyhc totally disagree with your logic, regardless of the tenses of the questions she did answer it, she was asked what would she say - she answered "I would say..." and Imagine you hearing her answer when you yourself was suffering from abuse, wouldn't it move you? That at the end of it all you will be victorious, you can be like her a hero of her own stories, she were never silenced and that's the message. For the second question, climate change can never be solved with one big solution it never will, however the smallest contribution, little by little when done by many will create positive impact, and that's her message.
She might have lost some elegance but you can see she was not just competing she was enjoying every moment and that what makes her relatable.
Dunno why she lost, maybe she have really low score in interviews. Well who knows, but during coronation night q and a she was the outstandingly the best.

Peru Deserves The Crown!! For her Answer!!
Oh! my God! Miss Mexico stuttered while talking, however, Miss Peru was way too confident and did not need an interpreter to help her out, aside from that, she is too way more beautiful than all of them; except from Brasil.
you shouldn't expect all miss Universe contestants to be proficient English speakers. After all, people learn and master languages at different paces. Miss Peru's proficiency in English should not take away from Mexico's response. Especially because in the second round of questions. Miss Mexico used an interpreter and was able to express herself better than she did in the first round without an interpreter.

Mexico and India had the hardest questions. They were very political. I understand how they wouldn't want to offend their country's leaders.
1. Peru (great first answer 9.3, decent second statement with confident delivery but could be deeper for easy topic 8.7)
2. Mexico (decent first answer with good point and making sense but would’ve been better if her delivery was less hesitant 8.5, solid second statement 9.0)
3. India (good first answer 8.8, second statement too all over the place 8.3)
4. Brazil (lack of substance and not convincing first answer but she’s elevated by her naturally passionate speaking voice 8.3, decent second statement with very confident delivery 8.7)
5. Dominican Republic (overtime, not answering the questions 8.2, second statement not complete enough but calm and graceful under pressure 8.4)
Just my opinion : i prefer the answer of miss Peru it has impact . And India ❤❤
Well congrats for the new reign 😍😍😍
I hope next year the judges are more mix countries to avoid any ( pompoms) and the host is need to be energetic like Mr. Harvey u know what i mean . Low impact of audience i notice 😅😅😅
They disregard candidates who can speak well 😫😫
BEAUTY and BRAIN of miss U .
from Philippines : we still proud of u Rabiya Mateo ❤❤❤
for me the best is miss PERU!!
mexico had a straight and realistic answer in my opinion
Haha she is not a communicator nor leader...
Miss Peru was able to nail it. i wonder what kind of magic happens here
How i wish rabiya is one of the (top 5) she can absolutely give a more aggressive & precise answer...
Except she didnt even make top ten. Due to her lackluster swimsuit performance
actually for the Five ladies , PERU ANSWER IT WELL.. HINDI MALAYO SA QUESTION ANG SAGOT..
yah right it should be Peru or Brazil, they have the nearest good answers among the 5
Only if Rabiya was there...
If I am one of the judges...my picks should be:
Miss Philippines
Miss Puerto Rico
Miss South Africa
Miss India
Miss Austrsalia
Miss USA
Miss Thailand
Miss Peru
Miss Indonesia
Miss Vietnam
Peru just nailed it👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
They legit look almost identical to each other
I felt sad for miss Peru , she nailed it.
In 2021 finaly india win the miss universe crown once again 😘😘😘
Peru should be crown and India should be the 1st runner up
Peru deserved to be Miss Universe for sure !!!!!
The crown must belong to Ms. Peru. My reaction after hearing her answer was like Olivia's.
Just WOW!
Moreover, she's just the only one who answered with conviction and all her heart.
Peru nailed it. How come she didn't win this competition?
Its based on overall performance the moment you arrive you are being judged. Maybe the judges dont consider peru, as the ideal girl to wear the crown. Its heartbreaking for me because i love janick and i thought she should have won as her performance has more wow factor and gave better answers than mexico in my opinion
Peru is the real winner love from philippines
in my POV
Miss Universe : PERU
1st: india
2nd:brazil
3rd:mexico
4th: dominican republic
Give that crown to India ♥️
Peru' deserved win the crown.
HOW THE FUCK DID PERU NOT WIN!!!!!! HUH I got goosebumps when she was speaking!
I’m so confuse why thailand and PR didn’t enter the top5.
prs gown was super trashy
thailands speaking ability wasnt as strong as someone like janick adline or julia. its all overall performance
Just can’t believe she got the crown 🤴
Miss Peru should be the miss universe 2020
Peru and India 🇮🇳 naild it..
While every one was shocked, miss America already knew the result😂🤣
Wearing a slipper to the first day of entering the contest just tell it all.. 😁😁
I luv Brazil she wins with Q and A
Philippines will be a great contender if included in Top 5. She would've delivered an answer with an IMPACT. However, it's just not destined for her or the other candidates. But we all know that after this competition, these ladies are destined for greatness. 👑
