Went to the "fiasco" today at Battle Creek. Left Grand Rapids a little after 11 A.M. Took Business 1-94 off I-94 to get to the festival. Took nearly 2 and 1 half miserable hours to get in the parking area once getting off I-94. So ... if you want to beat the long lines of traffic getting into the parking area, be HIGHLY encouraged to leave early and get there by early to mid-morning. Otherwise expect to spend 2 -3 hours of slow stop and/go traffic to get your car parked. From the video footage, folks know that one of the performers gave his life to entertain the crowd (throng!). He met His Creator, as we all will. But - back to the "circus". Because of the death of the Jet-trucker, ALL air flights were cancelled. My wife wanted to wait around the afternoon to watch the air balloon launch, but as fate kept it's ugly hand upon the area ... the wind picked up and they canceled the balloon launch. Various people claimed they also canceled the fireworks at dark and others said differently. Mass confusion. We got out of the "mob" while the getting was good and left the parking area by 8 p.m. The highlight of our day was having a picnic in our air conditioned car waiting for the ballon launch that didn't happen. So if you're into picnics in you're air conditioned vehicle, I can't recommend the Battle Creek BAFOON Fest more highly on Sunday or Monday. And as a P.S. There is NO reason why the Thunderbirds should NOT have executed when previously scheduled. BAD decision on someone's part to not let them fly. Will be our first and last trip to Battle Creek 4th of July Fest.
If air shows are going to cancel every time there's a crash or wreck, T-Birds and Angels need to open instead of close the shows. Used to be if somebody was killed at a show, the T-Birds or Angels would dedicate the show to them. "The Show Must Go On". Now, due to the pussification of the US, the show in cancelled. Not a single performer ever says "cancel the show if I die"..
Way to be disrespectful to a man who lost his life over it. Wasn't just a 'stupid jet truck fweuked that up' it was, the pyrotechnics messed up and killed someone. You could've been in his place how'd that feel?
@@sdrawkcabmodnar How'd I feel? "The show must go on". Very stupid to cancel the show due to a mishap. And trucks at air shows don't make any sense. They belong at truck shows.

Well hey, at least you're alive to complain...
Dude the guy was a showman. Your bitching because they canceled the rest of the air show. It was the right thing to do. 😡

They couldn’t because there was going to be a long time to clear off the runway after the prolonged investigation.
Freedom!!
