I got the air wrap and I don’t regret it. For me, it was a great all-in-one replacement for my 4 styling tools that happened to be on their last legs. I had saved up A TON of ULTA points and had a good chunk of Birthday money so I only ended up paying like $100 out of pocket. Do I love it? Absolutely YES! It’s less damaging, saves space in the bathroom and it’s safer to use than most traditional hot tools. Do I recommend it to everyone? No, only because of the price and it’s not for all hair types. Brad is absolutely right in that there are more cost effective tools that can give the same result. Had I not had my ULTA points and Birthday money, I probably wouldn’t have gotten it. However, now that I have it doing my hair is so much easier.

A really good way to decide when buying more luxury items is to focus on CPU [cost per use]. If you're only going to use it several times a year for really nice occasions $550 is absolutely not worth it, compared to like someone integrating it into their daily routine in which for $550 after a whole year thats like ~$1.50 per day

HELP> dyson vs. revlong. pls help guys. i have thick, coarse, 3b curly hair that ive been straihgten for a while: flat iron 2 years, revlon for a year. i have so much heat damage despite usong the revlong for the past year along with hair oiling and hair masks weekly. so many split ends and so much breakage. i assume the revlon is better than the titanium flat iron i used earlier, and its wayy faster too. but... it is causing damage, so i bought the dyson. pls help me. idk if i should return it. actually, my mom bought it for me bc im a kid. but idk if its worth it. i tried the round brush attachment once and here is my verdict: my roots are wayyyy flatter than from the revlong bc of the smaller barrel. used less time than the revlon.
**someone whose used both can u tell me if the dyson is heat damaging? or if youve only used the dyson on curly hair, have u noticed heat damage???? pls help me. ill feel rly guilty if i waste my mom's money. it's ONLY worth it to me if the round brush dyson is less HEAT DAMAGING than the revlon. i like using the curling barells, but that's not why i bought it.

Edited to add: electrical sales assistant from Australia who deals with these products every day here 👋🏻 the air wrap and supersonic both have the heat control settings built in. Essentially, most conventional curlers exceed 230°c-250°c (392°f-482°c) which is a great way to toast your hair - and hair dryers run even hotter, still. The airwrap won’t exceed 150°c (302°f) on its highest heat setting, but the products are designed to use air velocity to predominantly dry the hair with less heat and therefore essentially causing less damage in the long run. If you have thinner hair, the lowest heat letting is pretty much as hot as you need to go - thicker hair is where you’d use the higher heat. The cool setting on the device should be switched to from the heat setting whilst your hair is still around the barrel, because it effectively sets your hair and reduces as much frizz from developing and also allows the curl to hold longer. Hopefully that helps.
Also, I personally hate the round bristle brush 😂 I think the bristles aren’t strong enough personally, but that’s just me 🤷🏻‍♀️
Oh Brad, my love. You think $550 is bad? They’re $799 here in Australia 🙃 the supersonic dryers are $599 and go on sale for no more than 10% off maybe twice a year at best. The limited edition colours (red a while back, Prussian Blue currently) are never discounted. It’s bananas!

$550 USD is equivalent to about $775 AUD so it's actually not that much of a mark up to be fair. Especially once you consider that Australia is so far away from everywhere and the extra costs for shipping them over. Compared to markups on things like gaming consoles and digital games etc we have in Aus it's actually pretty fair.

A video by Allure called Molly Burke Reviews; Accessibility in Beauty, actually shows how great a product this is for people with disabilities as it's not super hot to touch. She's blind and uses it to curl her hair and finds it much easier to use than any other curling tongs because she just can't see and ends up burning herself. It's $500 sure, but for someone passionate about beauty but who has accessibility issues it's a great buy.

At first, it took me 40 minutes to do my hair with the Dyson AirWrap, but after 2-3 weeks of using it, it now takes me 15-20 minutes!
I’m sure it’ll take me 10 minutes in a few more months!
*IT HAS A LEARNING CURVE* so don’t return/sell it so quickly! Practice👏🏼 practice 👏🏼 PRACTICE! 👏🏼 Can’t live without it now!

I’ve recently bought a refurbished model. (Loving the extended year long warranty as opposed to the regular 6 month warranty) The Dyson air wrap is what spray/mist makeup is to doing it manually. It has a learning curve, but once you experience its benefits, you don’t want to go back to manual methods.

I have issues coordinating a brush and a blow dryer. I literally can’t do it, have been harmed trying, it’s not a “just practice” thing. I simply do not have the manual dexterity. I decided to buy this hoping I could manage it and I love it. I’m still working on having less frizz (it’s gotten better) but really I just like that I’m no longer forced to wait to wash my hair then sleep on a wet head cause I don’t want to spend all day with it wet. I can wash my hair day or night, enjoy presentable hair, or sleep comfortably- and still wake up to presentable hair!

I got mine about a month ago and I never had a thought of regret. My hair is very thick, I have a lot of it, they are long past my collar bones, they are a bit coarse and have a lot of undefined teture. My hair holds the curl from airwrap for days. And it takes me less than half an hour to turn my hair from 100% wet to glamorous blown out curls. Using it is such an experience itself, it is a pleasure to me. Even the pre styling attachment is sooo good to me, comparing it to my Remington keratin protect hairdryer I can get my hair dry two times quicker and the dryer itself weighs so much less, which is also very convenient. Of course it was so pricey, but taking into consideration, that because of the airwrap I started to love to style my hair, and that when I look in the mirror and see myself everyday as I was a hoolywood star, I think it was worth it.

For me it was worth the money. I literally tried every single type of hair styling tool and I could not make 1. curls that last 2. curls at all in my hair :D Also my hair is really soft and healthy so does not really hold styling well, but as it is heavy at the same time it takes a lot of heat to achieve the desired effect - with the Airwrap I do not need that much heat and it does the work for/instead of me :) For people who have some skill in hair styling will definitely not see it worth the money, I agree on that.

Love the airwrap! But it definitely depends on humidity 😂. I have fine slightly wavy hair that easily holds a curl. I love it in autumn, spring, and winter. During the humid parts of summer my hair falls within an hour. Brought it on vacation recently it was hilarious. Maybe hairspray would help, but my favorite part of the airwrap is that it doesn't take much for me to keep the curl if I do it hot then set with the cool feature. It's something to consider when purchasing depending on where you live. ✨

I would imagine that it checks the temp 40×/s because it's using your average heating element that continuously climbs towards its max temp. So if you have it set to medium, and the element's max temp is 600°, you need to check the temp quite often to prevent the element from getting hotter than the medium heat setting is supposed to allow.
I'm sure it works the same way as vaping w/ a temp control device. The resistance (to the flow of electricity) of a wire changes depending on how hot it is. So with some types of wire, you can calculate the heat based on the change in resistance of the wire.

I got Dyson Airwrap for my birthday. I was super excited because it was such a treat. I was using it for 2 weeks and we got it back to the shop!!! It is too expensive item to be so worthless (at least in my experience). I have long hair. When I was finishing curling the second side, the first one was already straight! It didn't hold my curls at all even though I was using the products. Probably it works for some people but if you are sad you don't have it - don't be. It's not worth the fuss imo.

For those that like the smoothing brush but (like me) don’t have the budget for the Dyson - I recently got the Babyliss Air Styler 1000 which is a tenth of the cost of the Dyson (in the UK). I have very long hair and it dries it in about 6 minutes. Yes it isn’t as good for your hair as it doesn’t have the same wizardry but it’s worth checking out. I have used the Dyson before and love it but £500…..

I have curly hair! It’s fine and a mix of ringlets and waves and a lot of it. Had it for a year and…it is a game changer. I can blow dry my hair straight far better than with the revlon hot brush thing, and I can do smooth curls that are way better than anything I can do with tongs or straighteners. It is efficient and brilliantly designed. I just can’t recommend it enough. But I must say I don’t really use it to create long lasting bouncy curls - I have them anyway after a while with any blow dry. For me it’s about smoothing and keeping my hair healthier. I air dry and live with my curls about 40% of the time and my curls are really healthy. I mainly use the bristle brush, then the smoothing brush and every now and again I use the curling attachment, mainly for special occasions. I don’t use any other hair styling tools.

I have super thick frizzy hair, airwrap is so easy to use and fast, it’s so nice to have lose curls or rounded ends without having to spend so much time on drying and then curling.. also I don’t feel like I broke my hands in the process 😄
Also I felt like my hair looks healthier than when I used blow dry rotating brush, it got so hot that it actually hurt. It is expensive, but it replaced me at least 3-4 gadgets, it saves a lot of space and I’m pretty sure it will last me a long time. I have other dyson products and they are always good quality.

Best money I ever spent was buying this. I did the custom kit because I have very unruly and frizzy hair. It does have a learning curve but once I understood each attachment it has made my hair routine so much faster and easier than ever. I can get a nice set of not frizzy waves in less than 20 minutes. It used to take up to an hour or more just to blow dry and set some curl and my hair isn’t particularly long or thick. I wish I would have had this in my younger days. I would have saved so much time just getting ready to go anywhere. Also, my hands and arms don’t get achy from having to hold a brush and dryer for so long which is a bonus for us older people. My only tip is to follow the instructions completely and listen to Brad about the use of product. When it says damp hair, it means damp hair! When it says to use the cold setting to set the curl don’t skip this step. There is a reason. The instructions are written that way.

I believe one of the comb attachments provides more tension. If your hair is already fine or straight, that may not matter. However, using more tension makes curly and/or coarse hair so much smoother and straighter.

I can honestly say that I like my extremely inexpensive "pin curl" method. I clean my hair at night and allow to air dry, but while still damp, I do pin curls all over my head [or just the top if I feel so desired] with some bobby pins. I sleep in the pin curls and in the morning, just pull the pins and comb out to desired curl strength. My hair is never frizzy using this method and ANYONE can buy some bobby pins.
And... even though I don't use a hair dryer on my hair, I still use some hair oil.

Doesn't work for everyone. My hair is super thin and if I did something like this it would have no wolume and the curls would look weird. I absolutely need heat to create nice curls.

@@marie_anne_paris Have you tried doing pin curls while damp and using a blow dryer to heat them?
I'm lucky... I know I'm lucky with my hair texture. I can easily make it curly or straight. However, my mother has really thin, limp hair, as does my daughter and them sleeping in pin curls seemed to work pretty well. Again, the pin curls were done while the hair was still damp and they slept with them in over night.

For me the difference between the firm and soft styling brush heads is the firm one gives me a "flat iron" finish so very very sleek, where as the soft brush gives me more of a paddle brush blow out finish. I have fine straight/slightly wavy hair.

Hi Brad! I have a disability that makes it pretty much impossible to curl my straight hair as I mostly only use one of my hands (and because curling irons are super hot which can be dangerous in my ''bad'' hand 😅). I think the airwrap might allow me to curl my hair, but the price makes me nervous. Do you think someone with limited mobility could use this product? 🤔 Thanks and love your videos❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hi ! I have muscular dystrophy and I can’t really use my arms/hands and I love the dyson ! It’s lighter than a regular hair drier and you can’t burn yourself (don’t get me wrong if you directly hold the barrel it’s hot but you won’t end up with a burn) I hold it with one hand while I support my arm with my other hand (because of my weak muscles) I’m pretty sure you would be able to use it, but just incase, some stores have demo models, or you could just buy it and return it if you don’t like it 🤷‍♀️ I could show you how I use it if you want :) it’s great to gain back the ability to do my own hair 😅

My problem is, that all the people that use the Dyson have thin an light hair. I have very thick, heavy and 80cm long hair. Even a professional hairdresser cannot style my hair in such a way that the curls last longer than 2 hours. That's why $ 550 is too much money to just test it and probably get the same result ...
