It's like 2 ghost hands are playing a bass guitar. And it sounds amazing.

Thank you. Your Beatle bass vids are VERY helpful to me. Once again...I was right...Paul is a frustrated guitarist who played simply awesome bass lines. They are a pleasure to listen to - Paul's lines - but it's when you attempt to play along with them is when you realize..."man, this guy is GOOD." His lines are so clever that they left Jaco even scratching his head. I say that because I've heard him say that in an interview once...that Paul was one of his faves. It's nice to see your vids presented like this. Once again, thanks for the lessons.

Paul WAS a guitarist in the Beatles' very early days, and never gave it up. He played guitar in many instances on their records, including solos, and continued afterward.

McCartney played lead on Helter Skelter, Drive My Car, Good Morning Good Morning, the title tracks from Sgt. Pepper's, both first and Reprise, Birthday, Back in the USSR, Another Girl, Ticket to Ride, And Your Bird Can Sing, Got to Get You Into My Life, Paperback Writer, The Night Before, Maxwell's Silver Hammer, The End and God knows if there's more.
This idiot had no idea when he commented.

    Well done here.
To me, the greatest thing about McCartney's bass playing is the breathtaking melodic content and phrasing. Many other players can dazzle with 128th notes or whatever, but leave you with no lasting thing of beauty to enrich your life, ... to give you chills many years after you first heard it. I've long said that if God himself played bass, he'd sound like Paul McCartney.

Crimson Yoshi Ah kids, do you think you're cool only when you're listening to old music ? I know many people of young age who like old music. Everybody has different taste of music, no matter what the age is

Wow, that bass sounds like a wet fart. To think that particular Rickenbacker model on average runs @ about 2 grand pre-owned. I'll bet even a crappy fender P-bass would have a more pristine sound.

I have a vintage P bass and a Ric and I like my Ric way more. To each his own I guess. Also the Ric isn’t a one trick pony so this is just one example of his tone. Honestly I don’t think he nails the tone here but that’s not the basses fault ahah
