That is hard to say, many variables, but I will say it took about a month and a half to be comfortable on a motorcycle, size really wouldnt make a difference, though weight of the bike is huge. That being said once I reached that point I realized I 'could' have started on something bigger. I have highways but they aren't necessary for me to get where I need to go, most of my riding is within 45mph speed zones with highway being 65ish..a 300cc will do 90-100mph(barely). a 300 is a perfect entry level bike, for atleast a season
