One of the most innovator B-Boys to step in the scene when our culture was just being born in the mid seventies in the Boogie Down Bronx. Frosty Freeze was unique in his own way and perfected his own style. He was a member of the Rock Steady Crew. His legacy will never be forgotten, he was a true pioneer to our culture. Today marks the 5th Anniversary of his passing at a young age of 44. ! RIP Frosty I will never forget you and what you left behind.
ceviche666 Nice tribute to the one of the original pioneers, always had flava when he went down. Brings me back to a happy time in my life..USA, The Roxy. Rest In Peace my Brother.
I remember it being around 1983, the Bronx,,,and I came out of apt and heard cats in the lobby. I turn the corner and saw a dude on the floor doing his thing while surrounded by familiar faces from the hood. The cat on the floor finishes up with a wild maneuver into a dead freeze. I knew right then, it was Frosty Freeze (RSC) because that was his thing. Keep in mind, I was 13 and these dudes were stars in New York City. Every time I saw this cat, it was ll love. R.I.P. legend.
How do you thank someone you never met or ever will.By keeping thier spirt alive in your dance.Thank you all you brothas who shaped a movement thats still in motion today. All who dare call themselves fresh are in your debt.RIP FROSTY and all our other fallen brothas we don't know by name.
wow i wasnt awere he passed away. so sad. i must have watched Style Wars countless times. im a writer but i always tried to break. damn Freeze was the man for sure. R.I.P FROSTY FREEZE
Frosty Freeze will forever live in the minds and hearts of b-boys all over the planet....I am sure Frosty last words may have sounded like this ("Oh lord I ask one request, if I should die before I wake may you send my soul where they scratch and break!!!)....R.I.P MY MAN Frosty for ever the ORIGINAL (ROCK CITY CREW) AKA ROCK STEADY CREW!!
I met this cat in L.A. back in '05 and even as a long time B-Boy I didn't appreciate who he was. I regret that now, but we had a really heavy Hip Hop convo on the Santa MOnica Bus or maybe it was Washington. Either way, he was kinda bummed out about a failed audition. He waxed poetic about how the old white execs try to dictate who's hot and who ain't. I took his number down and we parted ways. It's funny how you get to meet people in this world.
Beautiful. Thank you Frosty, and thanks Fabel for putting this piece of work together. I love the quotes at the end, bring the knowledge Frosty! We love you and miss you.
