Great to hear going plant based. I've been strictly vegan for 8 years and only recently started taking b12 and vegan omega 3 as insurance, even though blood tests hadn't showed any deficiency.
Hi Jesse, any thought on Beta Alanine? Supposed to have proven performance boost - increase carnosine, which reduces the acidity in your muscles during high-intensity exercise. Wondering what is your opinion on that?
Works for shorter term bursts of up to 1min. (usually recommended to football players), but needs to be taken for at least 4 weeks to have an effect. Sporadic use such as when it is an ingredient in pre-workout mixes, or in gels does nothing except causing skin itching (unless you take those every day for weeks)
I rely on the product fortifications (oat milks etc.) for the C, B12, A, D and other vitamins and trace minerals that can be lacking in a plant based diet. Is this not enough? I'm running on a nutritionists advice. I have haemachromatosis so no need to worry about iron, I'll accept tips on how to get less! Have you got some studies you can reference for the other levels of supplementation you use like the great carnitine doc you've included? Enjoying your content thanks for sharing!
I found my B12 trending downwards despite fortified soymilk. I just get a shot every 6 months. Better to check with blood work. Some plant based people don't supplement and no problems, some meat eaters are deficient in some minerals, so depends on individual and particular absorption and gut biome.
Hi Coach, Acetyl carnitine have similar cycle length as l-glutamine and doesn’t need to be preloaded for 3 month to have any marginal gains. Creatine can be preloaded for first week in 2x dose if in hurry. Why Nero Coaching discontinued Podium Package for 120$ p/m for poor people like me? I finally collected some dollars :D
Yep that was carnitine that I showed, not glutamine. Creatine isn't ideal because of the weight gain associated with it. Unfortunately we had to remove the podium level of coaching a year ago because it was not sustainable to coach at that price (especially after factoring in the cost of Today's Plan account)

Would love to see a video on creatine where you do 5 second 20 second and 1 min max power and then load creatine for 6-12 weeks and test again.
Great video
do u mind to share what specific fields during blood test eg iron, b12, ferritin etc & how often u do the blood test. Thank u

Appears to be effective, see AIS infosheet here: www.ais.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0018/1001385/Beta-alanine-InfographicFINAL.pdf

Hi Jesse. What do you think about magnesium for muscle recovery?

Where are you having your blood tests done? I’m also in Sydney …
Blood test ordered from local GP. Tell them you are a bit tired and you've recently changed your diet and they will likely order you one for free
No beta alanine? It is known to boost your VO2 max.
Its not improving your overall stats, beta alanine boost your stamina for temporary period / during that only race
How are you getting 100-250mg of caffeine on the bike?
Revvies or SIS Caf or No Doz?
SIS double espresso gels
Or a 500ml can of energy drink from the petrol station ☠️
Sis also do caffeine shots
Very informative vid, my only supplement is Sugar (in different forms) and copius amounts of it before , during and after rides, works for me.
Do you find L-carnitine a good benefit?
cacoa is vegan...
No D3? Where are you getting it from then? You should've been like🦵🏾🦵🏾 if it's from sun. 🧐
He lives in Australia, they have plenty of sun there even during their "winter". Why do you think skin cancer rates are so high donw there?
