i just dont get why people hate on it, it looks exotic, sounds like a le mans race car, has a 100,000$ sports car interior, and its faster than a 911 S. all while being a huge value.
This is a great video showcasing the 2016 Stingray. In May 2023 I bought a 2016 3LZ Z06, convertible with an automatic. The dealership sold the Z06 with the standard before I could get it. I don't mind. I have owned a 1988 Z51 with the Borg Warner standard and a 1991 ZR-1 with the 6 speed (ZFR?) standard. I loved them both, however, I must admit, at 56 I'm getting a little older. I am very happy with my 8 speed auto in my Z06. It doesn't shift as fast as the duel clutch in my Audi, but it shifts pretty fast for a torque converter auto. Thanks for the video! My Audi S5 has lights on the side mirrors that flash when someone is in you blind spot, and adaptive cruise control. It's a 2013 S5. I really love those two features and wish my Chevy had them.
The worst thing in the C5 was the air dam, instead of a grille for the radiator. Such low clearance. I dinged my air dam cross-strut and the car always ran hot afterwards.
Your reaction gives me joy. The smiles, laughter, and outbursts. A true car guy knows this feeling. I can tell it’s genuine instead of the fake reactions you see from others. It’s making me want a C7 just from watching lmao. Chevy should pay you!
Menacing... That Corvette is looking very aggressive and eye catching in that pure white exterior with those crisp black rims. This was a great review, Sofyan. Keep up the amazing work!
+Redline Reviews that color combination is perfect. Is my favorite. The interior is less care intensive for track days and you are already driving a great sports car you don't need a vibrant exterior color to get people's attention.
padistedor for a normal corvette with 460 horsepower idk if I’d pay more than 40k. I for 1-5k more you could’ve gotten a 2017 10 speed auto zl1 with 650hp and 650lb ft torque, or 6 speed manual zl1 1LE both do 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and have higher top speed than corvette.
Yea you did. I️ bought a 2k14 Z51 for about 46k with about 20k miles. I️ wish I️ could have got your deal lol. But I️ found the car that looked exactly how I️ wanted.
Probably the best car ever made in the US. There's still room for improvement in interior styling but I really admire how much american sports cars and supercars have evolved over the last decade. And that engine sound... it feels alive!! Cheers from Europe!! PS. 19:43 love the censorship there lol
I own pretty much the same car in a '14. Set your mirrors correctly and there are no blind spots. In fact no cars have blind spots, set your mirrors, it is one of the best driving upgrades you can do for yourself. It will take some getting used to but you always know where everyone around you is. If you need a quick lane change, no shoulder checks required.
Tony Gull it's all about getting ussd to the car , i own a 2010 camaro , and everybody complain about the visibility , wich for me is perfectly fine , i'm planning on getting the new corvette now
@Tom: just saw the review and your comment. I too have a ‘14 & love it. What is your recommendation for mirror settings? I use the traditional show a very little bit of door in both right and left mirrors. Is that wrong?
You don't need to push the remote to lock and unlock the door, it has a proximity sensor for the remote. If you turn off the car in Track or Weather mode it defaults to Touring when you start it back up. You can configure the display to whatever you want no matter what mode you're in.
I had a 2011 Grand Sport. Looks like the one in this video puts the power down much better. Mine would spin out even with traction control on when I launched hard. I could hit 70 leaving 2nd gear and the sound it made was addicting. You can get in a lot of trouble with a vette but you will have a good time doing it.
I really enjoy your reviews, you have a great presence and are very thorough, your nitpicks and use of music has gotten easier to listen to also, thanks!
Recently bought a '14 'vert Z51 and totally agree with the driving experience of the manual. Considered a C8 as it was in the budget but am so glad I went with a manual--it eggs you on to drive the piss out of it. Cornering is amazing and maintenance costs on these are pennies vs the Boxster I was also considering. Insurance cost is also VERY cheap (one of the only reasonably priced things in Maine is car insurance. I'm 65, no tickets, and my annual insurance cost is less than $500). I love this car!
half way through the vid, you have some of the best reviews out there. savagegeese and you. i like the long time ago Fit. youve built hell of a channel
Great review! I am in the market for a Black Vette right now but the white one you are driving is SO sexy. Also, thanks for pointing out the outdated switches inside and laggy touchscreen program.
Most people look at the horsepower and not what really matters... the torque. Horsepower matters on top end speed and some acceleration but torque is all about acceleration and getting off the line that's why it can beat many cars even though its only 460 HP. And I just wanted to add that on the road torque really matters because you most likely won't be going 120 or higher.
Just bought this (convertible auto version)....same price as my $50K 2020 Silverado but waaaayyyyyy more fun. Seems like good value to me. Still haven't fully tested it and just stored it for the winter. Can't wait for Spring.
I enjoy all of the upgrades I have made on my C7, latest addition is Victor racings smart active wing, it made such a big difference in drag control and speed.
Still the only true mainstream American challenger to high performance Euro offerings. The Corvette looks like a riot to drive. Someday maybe for me... Someday... =D
Just got a 2016 Stingray Z51. Love it so far! Couple questions, does track mode have the best/fastest throttle response vs all other modes including sport? Second, does it "hurt" the car if you just drive in track mode all the time? I usually drive in sport a lot but kinda love the track feel and throttle response better. Just didn't know if it's bad for the car to just keep in track mode 100% of the time.
If you read thru Corvette forums the C7 zo6 and grand sport owners have issues cracking their rims which is specific to their cars wider rims not to the Stingray wheels. Most of those issues caused by driving in Track mode on the street. I drive mine in Touring mode on street to not suffer any issues with cracked rims. You can always adjust the steering feel and open the noo exhaust all the time in the menu
I've never driven or owned a car like this, but I do know people who have. You are right about the cops. In fact, these cars are monumental magnets for all around trouble - from jealous vandals to cops who have nothing better to do.
Saw a guy on the highway a few days ago that had a Stingray that had Z51 badging on the side similar to how the Z06 has. I was wondering if that was factory or not.
I m a Mustang and Camaro fan but never get to use the back seats. With the current pricing especially a gt350, I would rather own a Vette! It's unique, lighter, agile, complete sports car. This and a Viper is the best American sports/muscle cars you can get!
Nice review!! Saving up for a 2014 non-Z 51, 2LT, 7 speed manual. I’ll be cherry picking a low mileage hopefully one owner in excellent condition well-maintained model. Multiple owners/mods will not be looked at or considered. As close to original OEM as possible. I prefer the 18 inch/19 inch tire set up that came on the base model.
@@hayabusa27 last year i bought a 1999 C5 Hardtop w only 18k miles. Awesome car, still smells new inside. Looking to get into a C7 like this one after i pay off my C5 in about 3 years.
@Sofyan I could be wrong, but I don't think I've EVER seen you swoon over a vehicle like this Vette! Like a kid at the candy store! Love it! And yes, I agree on the Z51 pkg. It is MUST! You get so much equipment at that level for the price. What are the chances that you could test a Challenger Hellcat w/ Tremec 6060?
Former 1999 C-5 stick owner. HUD is a must. If I don't get the F-type, I'll be getting the 2LT/Z51 magnetic ride......paddle shifters. Sorry - just looks too many for a stick. My general experience of the Vette is - it's not safe to take the roof off and run high end speeds - the car get too light, it sucks air into the cabin and you can feel it lift up. So I would never consider a convertible. In the city, the speed is.......I once got a ticket for 93 in a 45 limit and it truly was NOT as stupid as it sounds. it goes from burbling along to "You are going to jail. Where would you like your car towing to" in very little time. It's weird thinking of this as the performance/value for money compromise, between an F-type and a ZL1 (I live in Phoenix and we really have so few corners). I've been on the fence on this for way too long now.

Beautiful car! I would get this exactly in this color w/ the black accents except I would add a nice front splitter and maybe put a track wing on it, oh and don't forget spare tires! Can't forget about those! Loved the review keep up the good work :)
You can see the Resemblance between this and the Camaro, Especially the Tail lights and of course the Engine. But corvette is going in a good direction hope they keep it up.
Awesome review! I was thinking of either getting the porsche cayman or corvette stingray in a few months. How tall are you? I'm 6'2 and wondering how the comfort factor would be for a daily driver.
Nice! I might go check one out this weekend. I'm fairly muscular/wide too so i'm curious. Thanks! Are they pretty good in the snow from your experience? I do live in Chicago. ;)
With a good set of winter tires, the Vette should do just fine in the snow. It even has a snow/weather mode in the performance traction management system. Its just so low, that you probably wouldn't want to take it out on the roads if there is more than 6 inches on the ground ;)
Martin, I am 6'2 and I am a former owner of a C7 Vette. I fit, but BARELY. THe seat has to be all the way back, and I still can't recline the seat any. On the 15 minute test drive I didn't notice how uncomfortable it was. After an hour of driving my back was numb and I am young with no back issues. Plus things kept rattling which I hate. Love his Reviews and hate the Fact that he always complains about the Key Fog, I honestly wouldnt care, as long as i can hear that 6.2L V8 im good
Absolutely beautiful.
I got 36mpg driving 400 miles and 17.5mpg average commuting on streets to work.
Im debating my sports car purchase between corvette with Z51 with 8 speed or Lexus RCF without the torque vectoring, i want to stay mid 60K
If you want 2 doors, Corvette or Camaro ZL1. If you want 4 doors, Cadillac ATS-V. These are some of the best driving cars on the planet now.
This car is goals
usa need to be proud because this car is the best real car right now
