Marsch is spot on! Alistair Johnston, Ismaël Koné, Moïse Bombito and Ali Ahmed were all missed or overlooked at the youth level. Perhaps, there are others?
Dear God, Eustaquio, please don't come to TFC. Canada's brightest young stars should be playing in the biggest competitions possible, which are the top 5 leagues in Europe, and the Champions/Europa League level clubs in the top #6 to #15 leagues in Europe. Also the English Championship. By all means, come home when you're 30 and are looking to help nurture the young talent here.
If the Voyageurs Cup was opened up to ALL League 1 clubs, and not just the individual league champions, there would be more players identified from those games just like what happened with Mlah and Remy from their play with CS St. Laurent. Heck, even allow the top men's amateur clubs to participate. Canada Soccer HAS!!! to relax the requirements for hosting Voyageurs Cup matches so that the tournament can be used to help identify talent.
Just wanted to add that, anecdotally I’ve asked 3 separate friends of mine who are from Porto; all of them like Eustaquio and none of them really understood the reason to play Gonzalez all the time. One of them did say that the organization of Porto is really sketchy, so lots of things could have been happening behind the scenes..just rumours but whatever. One other point is that Porto had a crap season last year, and Conceição is out. So let’s see what happens.
Watching bombito ... I say he's got height and jump but man his passing and decision is flipping a coin. Almost all the goals allowed in this tournament was his fault
Canada is an amazing nation, there's a lot players...of course, just if you know find...I mean, specially in europe...remember milán borjan, he play in southamerica in argentina, and he's from zerbia.
Marsch is correct, but disagree with Jon Conway to cut out MLS Next or MLS altogether. The Provincial assocations, CanPL, Ligue 1, etc, couldn't get their act together until recently about 4-5 years ago. The MLS has helped in whatever way they can, but obviously 3 clubs can't cover all of Canada. At the same time, the CanPL and Ligue 1 sides don't have academies or didn't have anything setup until recently, so now the cracks are slowly being plugged up, but still needs more work
It's in every sport in Canada. If a coach did not discover you. They will bench you. If you are not a system player, you will be benched. Canada hates talent and love system players.
Parents are too influential with the coaching staff, rather than letting the coach be influenced only by the player’s quality. Also, it takes a lot of money to maintain a kid in soccer. Tournaments all over the place. What would a poor player do? They’d drop out.
The last thing Canada needs is players coming back from Europe to play in North America. It happened with the women with Fleming and Huitima, which just lowers their level of play.
The irony is that Jesse Marsh is not good enough to coach at Porto, yet all these pundits listen to him like he's god. If Eustaquio does want to go to tfc, they will have to fork over 20$million. P.s. Jesse Marsh is a one trick pony, and canadians will find that out hopefully before the World Cup.

100% i know this cause if seen it personaly, cause its just people who have connections who end up at the academies and not people scouted with skill
If Canada continues playing good there will be more scouts looking at Canada

Where do you suggest he go? He's in the dog house at Porto, he needs game time reps
@jaytse2269 There's a new coach at Porto. Don't just blindly listen to these "pundits". Figure stuff out yourself.

Nice to see Gareth wearing something with sleeves

Solo naturalizando los migrantes que les llegan de otros paises pueden competir muertos con canadienses autoctonos no le ganaran ni a Haiti
One word…. Nepotism.
Stay in Porto 🙏🏾

Eustaquio would be perfect for TFC...
🚫 no champions leauge in mls
@@samuelrigaud6595 I didn't say "TFC would be perfect for Eustaquio".

Fleming I agree but Huitema just isn't good enough. I still think Olivia Smith should have been given a spot over her on the Olympic roster
Can't make your local league better by constantly running it down. You gotta believe in it.
Please come to TFC eustaq
The problem at the youth level from what I have heard from people who have kids who play is helicopter parents and poor organization.
I would add clubs tend to be focused on dribbling a lot, less other skills.
Niko Sigur Hajduk Split !
too many roads to nowhere in canadian program so right
eustaquio to TORONTO RIGHT NOW
