What does it mean if my case is being "actively reviewed" by USCIS? A lot of people receive this message in the Case Status Update Tool on the USCIS website, but have no idea what it means or how long they will need to wait for their next update. In this video I explain how USCIS is processing your case behind the scenes, and what specifically is happening when they say it is being "actively reviewed." I also give a time frame you can expect to wait for your next status update!

This was my case I applied for my two daughters Jan 2 ,2022 and the case history only showed receipt of paperwork 6th Jan and actively processing. At the exact 1 year mark to request for updates which was Feb 8, at stroke of midnight I submitted a case inquiry and on the 9th of February less that 24 hrs after, I got an approval notice for both cases. Funny thing 1 case was processed in Texas and the other in California service center, although they were tied. So next case is NVC. I am wishing everyone success in this process and thank you counsel for all your great content.

@@elimar3418 I did a case status inquiry there is a place on the processing times page that provides you a link if your case is outside normal processing time. You put in your case information and it will generate a ticket number.

All actively reviewing means they finally at least looked at your case and want to make themselves and you feel good… that being said, it could be a good sign, but a lot of times nothing happens after that
March 6th I FedEx’d the application for AOS. On March 7th I received my receipt numbers for I-485/I-765/I-131. Today March 11th 2023 I woke up and received another notification (email) saying my case is being actively reviewed.
I’d like to state that I had an approved I-130 within 30 days and we sent in my husband’s Medical with the application I filed on March 7th. He has DACA and one legal entry from Advance parole. I will keep you guys updated so you can see a variety of cases and what’s going on. I would also like to note we sent in everything they asked for in one bang. Taxes, pictures, medical, check for fees, bank statements, high school diplomas, former divorce decree (my previous marriage) and of course the support affidavit.

It’s been 2 months now since my husband and I got reunited.I’m sure most people here would understand what I mean by being separated from your spouse for so long.He applied for the green card since 2019 because he lived in Germany and waited 3 years but didn’t get it until last year when I made research about it I was told there was a professional at the USCIS that could get it done and he got it in less than 3 weeks after I had to pay the service fee of $2000 to the whole process.And now it’s been the best few months of my life ☺

I submitted all my applications a week ago, just got my letters of receipt. It's showing "being actively reviewed" for my I485? its only been a week.
"My wife, a US citizen, filed for me with the Vermont USCIS center on October 27th last year. The filing was received on November 27th, and they are currently actively reviewing my case. I would like to inquire about the expected duration of the review process."
My Case is been approved for the NVC I'm in a step 10 out of 20 ,on in preparing for the interview , since last June!

Also I don't know if your team reads these but there are no 1 130 interviews being done out of Lagos. NVC is tricking you by saying be patient. Because nobody knows that they are arguing on who is scheduling the interview. People don't know this so they are not complaining but once they see that they are waiting for nothing to happen. Until noth NVC AND LAGOS EMBASSY GETS IT TOGETHER.

USCIS said Case Approval Was Reaffirmed And Mailed Back To Department Of State (our case was returned by department of state to the uscis ) but uscis reaffirmed it and mailed our petitioner their original approval.also they have mentioned that it was mailed back to the department of state.
Now what to do? It is officially approved by uscis once again as they have mentioned it. how much time it gonna take now?

Is there a similar process with DOL for U visa certifications? There is a backlog there too.
I am a us permanent resident and I did apply to renew my travel document it already been 16 months and every time I check it said case was updated to show fingerprints were taken.
My fingerprints was taken years before and I still paid over $85 and they never refunded back to me.

Hello Sarah the processing time is now even more time. We are in month 10 and our acct now has 6 more months until a decision is made and that just for the I 130. 😩. Supposedly our petition is in the Nebraska Service Center.

Well I think immigration should give you info two years ago I took test and passed then took the oath of allegiance then signed two documents and then was told there was nothing else to do they would be in touch . Since then I have heard nothing.

I petitioned my wife, and it took 7 months to see " actively review " on my application. I'm now a total of 10 months in and nothing....now its saying taking longer to process...Looks like its going to take another year till I see another change in my status.....

We need more investigating why NVC and over seas can't give you any time frames when it comes to scheduling interviews. This is by far crap. Open ended with no accountability. After we have paid them and waiting years for an spousal interviews. Please start digging into these embassies and their lack of integrity to push cases. Not just oh lets do one a day. Keeping the spouses in limbo and hog tied. Using the excuse still prior covid. So NVC AND OVER SEAS EMBASSY TO BE INVESTIGATED.
There’s only a certain amount of visas allowed to be given out by law each year. Most people who apply for AOS send in their I-130 along with the I-485 .. meaning they don’t already have a visa set aside for them. This is why you see some cases go faster than other. Typically a I-130 takes between 6-8 months to get approved or denied. The I-485 is a little shorter than that. So if you sent in the I-130 with AOS then this is most likely why you are seeing a delay.
@@MaryFredetteThere are unlimited visas for spouses, and the NVC doesn't handle i-485s as they deal with consular processing meaning the spouse is out of the country and therefore doesn't need an AOS. The issue this commenter is referring to is the backlog at NVC and embassies that isn't being addressed quick enough and causing people to have to wait years to interview for a visa that was already available the moment they filed the i-130.

I received a notification for RFE in June last year and before I could submit the requested documents, I got a notification the next month that my case is being actively reviewed and nothing is outstanding. What does this mean? Do I still need to send the requested documents or not?
Send it, you always have to respond to rfe’s! Give them everything they asking for if possible, if you can’t give them exactly all the documents they asking then give me more other documents … hope this helped 👍🏿

Hello there I applied for k1 visa I got noa2 in July (approved case ) and then later they say the department of state sent your case to the USCIS for review what does it mean
So let’s simply change the phrasing: your application is in line to be actively reviewed… How hard was that?
