The cumulus tee looks so much more feminine and soft and I think that pattern would do justice to that beautiful yarn you have. Love the dusty lavender color.
Hi Rita, I think so too! It looks like it is the Cumulus Tee for the win. I will probably swatch for that this weekend. (After I tackle my shoulder high ironing pile that is!) Thank you for spending you precious knitting time with me. K x
@@IamKylieGeeAKnittingPodcast I had to chuckle when I read "ironing pile." I wonder how many people still have an ironing pile - or iron at all for that matter; I think in this day of 'permanent press,' work-from-home, and casual wear, it must be a rarity. My Grandma taught me a trick to get the ironing done fast - sometimes faster than I wanted to when I was young... She made us each a glass of an iced beverage to drink while we ironed and set out a snack as a "carrot in front of our noses" for when we were done. Next, she set up the ironing boards in front of the TV with a fan blowing on us "to keep us from melting" (it was usually 90+°F) and put on her "soaps" - something I was only allowed to watch when we ironed. Finally, we would grab our spray bottles, pre-dampen a batch of ironing, and get to work. As we neared the bottom of the basket, we slowed down - Grandma because she was tired, me because the guilty pleasures of doing my chores sitting down and watching soap operas were about to come to a close. Thank you for the happy flashback! Happy knit!
I love knitting, perhaps you can be my mentor? You sound and look just lovely. Im in Pennsylvania, United States, born on Halloween. This year I will be 71, have knitted since 9 yr old and still learning. I don't do podcast. Don't know how. New to your channel. Like and will watch more often.
I'll probably be "popping my clogs" a lot sooner than you, so my opinion means little anymore. But do whatever makes you the happiest. The blanket will be awesome, even if all you do with it is leave it behind.🥰🧙♀️🦇🧶🥰
You are really something to make sweaters having only been knitting for 6 months. Wow, I admire you tremendously. Glad you and husband are well again. 🥰🧙♀️🧶
I love the red cardigan you showed , I didn’t catch the name of it. Perfect for a Melbourne life. I miss my Queensland but grandma needed so I moved 👵🏻 I’d love the details of the cardigan 🙏
Hellooooo just discovered your podcast and quickly subscribed. Your set-up for filming is quite cozy looking. How challenging to knit living in such a warm climate, living in California I struggle a bit as well. Looking forward to visiting your previous podcasts and look forward to your future podcasts.
Thanks so much, Laurie! 😊 It's crazy that I knit, given that 90% of the year we are in humid hell with the heat here in Far North Queensland. However, I am learning. I work in a cold airconditioned office, and with solar panels on our rood, running the AC at home costs us very little. SO I get to pretend we live in a cooler climate. I appreciate you spending your precious knitting time with me and taking the time to leave a comment. Hugs from the tropics, Kx
You have put a great deal of time into your "Stitch in Time" and it really looks like it would be so pretty and colorful. Maybe assemble at least some of the squares to see if it helps with the mojo to move forward with it. I love Dan' s Walking the Wall series and the Walking the Moors. The scenery and the history he shares is wonderful. If you enjoy Knitting Posse you might also enjoy Knitting together with Kim & Jonna.
Hey Kylie. I’m thrilled to find your podcast. We’re at opposite ends of the country as I’m in Melbourne. Love your sense of humour. So the blanket I would cast on and knit one more square to see if I’m going to enjoy the repetition again. If not put it aside and decide later. The v neck is a classic T and I love it but I think the first one with lace would do the yarn justice particularly with a bit of bead bling. Good luck 😀
Hey Liz, Thanks for leaving a comment. It's always great to meet another Aussie Knitter. Where do you love to buy your yarn from. Do you have any secrets I haven't yet discovered? I love the Cumullus T and will probably knit that. I now need to decide if I add beads or not... K x

You should continue with the border. It will be an absolutely stunning heirloom. Keep up the good work. I hope you have a written pattern for the shawl you're wearing and the love note 2 top you completed.
Hi Carol-Ann, The shawl I am wearing in this podcast is the exploration station by Stephen West. It is a really fun knit. I was actually looking at his other shawls at lucnhtimne today and think I may cast on another one of his. Not too sure which one... I think I might add some borders to the squares I have and see how I feel about it then. Thanks so much for leaving a comment and stopping by. K x
Glad your feeling much better. All your finished projects are great. Love your Stephen West shawl too. Keep going on your blanket, you'll be please once it's completed. Until next time. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Diane, The Stephen West shawl is a favourite and pretty easy to wear. Which I am surprised by given the colours. The blanket looks like it will be making a comeback from timeout. I am pretty excited about it after all the positive comments from everyone. Thanks for spending your precious knitting time with me. K x
I would continue with the blanket it’s beautiful. Will be amazing when done. Just plod along and it will definitely be worth it in the end. Love the podcast.
Hey Janet, Thanks so much for stopping by. Plodding along with the blanket is a great idea. No pressure knitting. We all need one of those projects don't we? Happy knitting K x
So happy to have found your channel! To confuse the issue & decision making process, might I suggest the Nouchali jumper by SusannaIC for that luscious yarn? It's splendidly well written, and quite flattering for us girls who "don't need any help in *that* area?" Do be careful though, SusannaIC's patterns are SO lovely, fit so splendidly, and so concisely written that they rather knit themselves ~ you will find yourself wanting to knit them ALL. It is a *fabulous rabbit hole* to take up residence in, so well worth the tumble down! Happy knitting!
LisaR Your blanket is so beautiful! Either way it will be lovely . It seems as though you really want to have the full size you intended . You're imagining it as a lovely luxury & heirloom . The yarns special and your stitching is beautiful- I'd finish it to the full size if that's still the feeling you have for it .Or , would you like it be more public , seen & used by more than you & husband ? If you're willing to accept the possible spills etc:)) then , go for it ! So many great outcomes have many changes in the initial plans :))No guilt in knitting - It's your creation . Right now, where would you love to see it be ? It's a long term project & now you're picking it back up bc you feel like it - Maybe , having it out where you can see it will help you decide ? Or , a large piece of felt tacked up on wall where you can move squares around :))... Many of us own too many "Have to" obligations . This is your relaxation & joyful playtime . ( that's how I end up losing my mojo - when it loses the fun , bc I'm feeling as if I'm not producing enough to rationalize my yarn purchases . I have storage space left - ok some is in grown childrens former bedroom closets - I ve earned it & I buy with at least an initial plan for it - write it on the packaging ..) Enjoy knitting it , when you do . Dance on the wild side with your knits , its a free zone ♥️ Love your projects & sense of humor !
You are so right, Lisa, no guilt in our knitting. I must remember that. I completely agree about losing your knitting mojo. I think that is where I am at with my husbands socks. I just don't want to knit on them.
LisaR @@IamKylieGeeAKnittingPodcast Obligation "socks " ! Agree , it's not inspiring .. Have you noticed the shops on Etsy that will crank your yarn into sock tubes ? Some will do heels & cuffs - Sometimes , it's nice to just know there's more than one way to finish a chore ;)
Your blanket is beautiful. I would make a size that you can enjoy often, like the bed throw. The merino/silk would look so good as the Cumulus tee with beads around the neckline! I am really enjoying your videos - thanks! 😀💕🌴🌵🌺

HI Lisa, another new subscriber. I too prefer fingering and 3ply sock over worsted/heavy DK weight yarns, and finer needles and denser guage for garments. I am struggling to finish a 'DK' Stephen West shawl because it is too grippy on the needles, and too heavy a weight now with really long rows, so reaching the border with 6 rows before the cast-off last month, I have picked up a lace shawl in sock yarn, and a sport-weight twisted stitch slipover top, both getting love while the Cabled Trellis Crescent shawl is sitting in time-out. Just getting over Covid myself, found myself knitting a lot. Today I got my order from Loladidit with same colors of yarn for another shawl you made. Appreciate your new Mic!
The squares look gorgeous. My advice: make them into something that you see and use regularly so that you enjoy the yarn and the result of your work :-) You know best what that is, not us. The yarn and the knitting is there for making your life more joy. Not to be a burden or cause shame or other unpleasant feelings. Love you podcast and your style of being you! Hi Marijke, My dad was Dutch! Thanks for sitting and knitting with me!! The yarn in those squares is so very soft. There have been some fabulous ideas shared here. I’m feeling really inspired. K x
Oh, Dear Girl! NEVER apologize for decadence! As you said, "You work. You DESERVE IT!" If you set a goal of doing 2 squares a month ~ or, if you pick up speed & feel so inspired, perhaps a square a week ~ you will have that well-deserved decadent blanket done *and being enjoyed* before you can do the math. 😘 Use it, revel in it, wear holes in it so the kiddos don't go to blows over it when you join EZ's knitting circle in the sky. As for "doing the math," it's *stash yarn now* - - there is no guilt in stash yarn (unless you kick off & leave it to the moths.) Whatever you knit ~ *or don't* ~ ENJOY IT! Life, *and knitting time especially* is too short to squander on ugly yarn & projects we don't love. Having completed all my homework assignments, I'm off to binge your past vlogs for more smiles & inspiration. 💟

The cumulus tee looks so much more feminine and soft and I think that pattern would do justice to that beautiful yarn you have. Love the dusty lavender color.
Hi Rita,
I think so too! It looks like it is the Cumulus Tee for the win. I will probably swatch for that this weekend. (After I tackle my shoulder high ironing pile that is!)
Thank you for spending you precious knitting time with me.

@@IamKylieGeeAKnittingPodcast
I had to chuckle when I read "ironing pile." I wonder how many people still have an ironing pile - or iron at all for that matter; I think in this day of 'permanent press,' work-from-home, and casual wear, it must be a rarity.
Happy knit!
Glad you got a new microphone. Love your channel.
I do love my new microphone, it makes me feel like a real podcaster. It actually weighs a tonne!
I say Cumulus Tee for certain!!
Hi Angela,
I am leaning that way too.
Thanks for spending your precious knitting time with me.

I love the red cardigan you showed , I didn’t catch the name of it. Perfect for a Melbourne life. I miss my Queensland but grandma needed so I moved 👵🏻
I’d love the details of the cardigan 🙏
Hey,
I’d happily share details with you but I haven’t knit a red cardigan.
Your blanket would make a lovely throw and probably get more use that way. It's quite elegant 😍.
Great idea!!
I think it may end up back in rotation.
Thanks so much for spending your valuable knitting time with me.

It's crazy that I knit, given that 90% of the year we are in humid hell with the heat here in Far North Queensland.
However, I am learning. I work in a cold airconditioned office, and with solar panels on our rood, running the AC at home costs us very little. SO I get to pretend we live in a cooler climate.
I appreciate you spending your precious knitting time with me and taking the time to leave a comment.
Hugs from the tropics,

You have put a great deal of time into your "Stitch in Time" and it really looks like it would be so pretty and colorful. Maybe assemble at least some of the squares to see if it helps with the mojo to move forward with it.
I love Dan' s Walking the Wall series and the Walking the Moors. The scenery and the history he shares is wonderful.
If you enjoy Knitting Posse you might also enjoy Knitting together with Kim & Jonna.
Hi Julia,
Thank you, it is pretty gorgeous. I think you’re right, putting some of the squares together will help me gain momentum on it.

Good luck 😀
Hey Liz,
Thanks for leaving a comment. It's always great to meet another Aussie Knitter. Where do you love to buy your yarn from. Do you have any secrets I haven't yet discovered? I love the Cumullus T and will probably knit that. I now need to decide if I add beads or not...
K x
@@IamKylieGeeAKnittingPodcast hi Kylie. I’m working my way through your podcasts and enjoying so much. It’s like having a cuppa with a friend. I live in Melbourne and it’s cold enough to wear woolies most of the year 🤣. Sis you finish the blanket? I haven’t seen that episode yet
I’ll tune in again I love your podcast. Always good to find Aussies
Thanks Liz!! Have a fabulous weekend. I hope you get lots of knitting time
You should continue with the border. It will be an absolutely stunning heirloom. Keep up the good work. I hope you have a written pattern for the shawl you're wearing and the love note 2 top you completed.
Hi Carol-Ann,
The shawl I am wearing in this podcast is the exploration station by Stephen West. It is a really fun knit. I was actually looking at his other shawls at lucnhtimne today and think I may cast on another one of his. Not too sure which one...
I think I might add some borders to the squares I have and see how I feel about it then.
Thanks so much for leaving a comment and stopping by.

Glad your feeling much better. All your finished projects are great. Love your Stephen West shawl too. Keep going on your blanket, you'll be please once it's completed. Until next time. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Diane,
The Stephen West shawl is a favourite and pretty easy to wear. Which I am surprised by given the colours.
The blanket looks like it will be making a comeback from timeout. I am pretty excited about it after all the positive comments from everyone.
Thanks for spending your precious knitting time with me.

I would continue with the blanket it’s beautiful. Will be amazing when done. Just plod along and it will definitely be worth it in the end. Love the podcast.
Hey Janet,
Thanks so much for stopping by. Plodding along with the blanket is a great idea. No pressure knitting. We all need one of those projects don't we?

So happy to have found your channel!
To confuse the issue & decision making process, might I suggest the Nouchali jumper by SusannaIC for that luscious yarn?
It's splendidly well written, and quite flattering for us girls who "don't need any help in *that* area?"
Do be careful though, SusannaIC's patterns are SO lovely, fit so splendidly, and so concisely written that they rather knit themselves ~ you will find yourself wanting to knit them ALL. It is a *fabulous rabbit hole* to take up residence in, so well worth the tumble down!
Happy knitting!
Off to check out her patterns. Thank you for sharing her patterns with me.
I love a good rabbit hole, don't you?

LisaR Your blanket is so beautiful! Either way it will be lovely . It seems as though you really want to have the full size you intended . You're imagining it as a lovely luxury & heirloom . The yarns special and your stitching is beautiful- I'd finish it to the full size if that's still the feeling you have for it .Or , would you like it be more public , seen & used by more than you & husband ? If you're willing to accept the possible spills etc:))
then , go for it ! Many of us own too many
"Have to" obligations . This is your relaxation & joyful playtime . ( that's how I end up losing my mojo - when it loses the fun , bc I'm feeling as if I'm not producing enough to rationalize my yarn purchases . I have storage space left - ok some is in grown childrens former bedroom closets - I ve earned it & I buy with at least an initial plan for it - write it on the packaging ..)
Enjoy knitting it , when you do .
LisaR @@IamKylieGeeAKnittingPodcast
Obligation "socks " !
Hi Sheila,
Thanks so much for spending your valuable knitting time with me. I think the Cumulus will win the day and yes, I think the beads are the way to go.
I like the idea of throw for our bed. Something to think about.

@@IamKylieGeeAKnittingPodcast yes definitely not the time to be wearing any knitwear. More the time to be sitting in my vest and pants mainlining ice cream 🍦. My friends in the next village over were evacuated last night as the playing fields behind them were on fire. We're just not used to this level of heat.
I enjoy The Bakery Bears, and Amy Palko of The Meaningful Stitch podcast (definitely a knitter with an enviable shawl collection), you may also like Camijo Knit podcast, I have recently discover MadebyJalene's The Lekker Podcast from South Africa (another chatty podcaster who knits and crochets). But my first non-crochet podcasts were Fruity Knitting, and Joji's Journal, Joji has tried to get back to shorter more frequent episodes after a slow period, and I am happy to see her back on RUclips. 😃 I watch quite a few knitters on RUclips, but must say some of the millennials get to be too much when they think they are educators, and over-explain everything they do, give me another experienced middle aged person anyday.
Great to see an Aussie, kind wishes from the west coast, glad you are recovering from The lurgy.
Hi Kerry,
Welcome! A heavy DK shawl, wow, not sure that is something I would tackle.
I love the Bakery Bears too, their shows make me want to do strange things like Walk the wall and dye yarn...
Thanks for the other recommendations, I have dutifully added them to my watch list.

Hi Kylie, from South Australia here. Your stitches in time blanket is gorgeous!! You've put so much time and money into it, it would be a shame not to finish it properly. If you crochet, then that might be a faster and just as pretty border instead of the knitted one. Look forward to seeing the finished blanket 😊
Hi Michele,
I must admit I am quite inspired to finish it now. There has been so many positive comments and feedback about my blanket. All that to say, I think you are right there is a big investment of time and money in it and it will be stunning when finished.

The stitch in time blocks are so pretty, I would absolutely finish the blanket for your king bed. You will be so blown away with it when you have completed it. The squares look gorgeous. My advice: make them into something that you see and use regularly so that you enjoy the yarn and the result of your work :-) You know best what that is, not us. The yarn and the knitting is there for making your life more joy. Not to be a burden or cause shame or other unpleasant feelings.

Oh, Dear Girl!
NEVER apologize for decadence! As you said, "You work. You DESERVE IT!"
If you set a goal of doing 2 squares a month ~ or, if you pick up speed & feel so inspired, perhaps a square a week ~ you will have that well-deserved decadent blanket done *and being enjoyed* before you can do the math. 😘 Use it, revel in it, wear holes in it so the kiddos don't go to blows over it when you join EZ's knitting circle in the sky.
As for "doing the math," it's *stash yarn now* - - there is no guilt in stash yarn (unless you kick off & leave it to the moths.)
Whatever you knit ~ *or don't* ~ ENJOY IT! Life, *and knitting time especially* is too short to squander on ugly yarn & projects we don't love.
Having completed all my homework assignments, I'm off to binge your past vlogs for more smiles & inspiration. 💟
I am officially adopting your philosophy on stash yarn, knitting time and future Knitting Circle goals.
Thanks for completing your homework. I laughed out loud.

Hi from South Africa.
If you knit ribbing in the round, wether its for socks/garment, the right side does not look that good, but its much prettier on the wrong. Why not reverse your knitting and knit the ribbing on your wrong side of the work.
