In this video, Ro is joined by long time friend, Debra, who you may recognize from some of your favorite videos! Debra purchased a Candice Wig, but feels that it is just too much hair for her, so Ro is going to work her magic and transform this wig into something Debra will love. Watch as she trims the bangs, cuts the length by at least a few inches, and adds subtle layers. Our wigs can be customized very easily on your own, or take them to a hairdresser you trust. Remember to cut slowly, as this hair won't grow back!

Hi Tara, we have many tutorials on how to trim bangs. My intention for this video was to show you what's possible by yourself or a good hairdresser. It's not so easy to give instructions to trim a fuller, longer wig like this Candice since there are so many different ways to go with it. Debra trusts me and my fingers just go! Thanks for watching! More fun with wigs! I get complimented all the time about my "hair" and everyone of those folks cannot believe its a wig. I'm very open about the fact that I'm wearing a wig. Deborah, you could totally pull off a long bob. I can see keeping the length though for pulling up into a bun or twist up, that's a good look for any age. Ro, you look fabulous as usual. Your question about handing the situation when you're around people who know you and you're wearing a wig that's a dramatic departure from your usual look. Do you remember how scared I was and how much you helped me get over it? Now I announce it! My doctor hasn't seen me with the same hair twice! I'm pretty sure she's caught on. ; - ). But here's the kicker. Back then I was so scared how my children might react (my kids are as acid-tonged as I am and I have NO idea how they got that way) but I took my son to dinner after a long estrangement. It was his birthday. I wore my Freedom in Sandy Silver and his reaction? "Wow, that's a new look for you, Mom! I never thought you'd cut your hair!" Then he paused and studied me before pronouncing, "I like it." Then I told him it was a wig. He shrugged and asked why I didn't cut my hair that way. I reminded him of one of my disastrous attempts at a short hairstyle when he was a boy. Then I told him how thin my hair has gotten and how much worse that old style would be NOW! We laughed and toasted my hair. Now he just says, "Well, you look great!" Can a wig actually heal a family rift? Well, it certainly was an ice-breaker.

I always say that wigs are magic! What they really are is the representation of a personal step-up to who we aspire to be. Might be as simple as "I want to be a redhead today". Or, "I want to have the hair I always dreamed of". No matter - wigs are simply the vehicle that we all get to experience by making a new choice for ourselves and actually experience it - and quick! Wigs aren't rocket science, but getting over the fear that keeps some of us feeling stuck can seem very scary and difficult. The magic of our wigs lies in the first thought of a new possibility. Do I dare to look different than everyone knows me to look? Stepping out of the box of concern about what others think of us and into the love and honoring of looking the way we choose for ourselves is powerful medicine!
That self-love, done over and over creates self-confidence; the act of trusting ourselves - and those positive choices that only we can make for ourselves is the glow and beauty that shines outside of us and beyond our wigs. The glow of self love is magnetic, and it makes us smile (very important, especially as we grow older) because we feel happy with ourselves. I think your son felt your inner love and saw your glow. I have Candice also in this color and I think it's time to put some bangs in her and transform her. Thank you for the options. Also when I get a compliment on my hair I always say it's a wig and that they can get the exact same look. Then I give them your name but I really think it would be great if you would print up business cards and that way it's a sure way they won't be forgetting your name by the time they get home.

Beautiful wig. I always wanted long hair but never could have it with my fine, thin hair. I am 70 now and Candace would probably be too much, my hairdresser won’t trim wigs, so I couldn’t get her to do it. My natural hair is platinum in front, not grey but platinum, and the back is grayish, medium ash blonde. Not sure which color to get because grey color next to my face makes my skin look horrible. The finished result is magical and she looks younger. Can’t tell it’s a wig. Love your wigs.
Dear Laurie - easy fix - just spend some time and find another hairdresser who is comfortable with trimming wigs! Then you'll have one for your hair and another for "Your Hair"! Ro
I just got my first Candice in maple sugar, my favorite color! I have been wearing wigs since March 2021 and have 47 already. Candice is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WIG I'VE EVER SEEN!! I love your idea of just buying Candice and customizing each one a little differently. I must admit I don't think I could cut anything off. It's just perfect as is. Deborah looks AMAZING!! I am curious about this color. I would like to try it but in this video it is a beautiful neutral blonde. It usually looks very yellow in the other pics and videos I've seen. I can't wear yellow so I would love to know if this color reads yellow or neutral. Thanks for the great video!

I never thought about putting my wispy, baby fine hair up in a higher pony tail and then pinning it down. I was doing the low pony & I don’t like how it makes a bump in the back if someone touches the back of my hair. I’m going to try this. I like the comment how it can help give a facelift by doing this and the wig grip. (LOL)

Thanks so much, to be truthful I was in your Woodland Hills store briefly a few months back, it was close to closing, rainy. I tried on a topper but it didn't match, I asked the associate if she had another color that would better match, she said not on hand but she could order one and contact me when it comes in. I gave her my contact # but didn't receive a call back and I just never followed up because of a little fear. The associate did ask why I wanted a topper because I had long beatiful hair (which I appreicated the compliment), I explained to her that I am losing a lot of hair and I can see my scalp and I really don't like it. So I am planning a trip back when I have more time to play and I'm taking a friend with me who also is experiencing some hair loss, so we are going to take it on together in the near furture. I appreciate the genuine care that you and daughter have for women, it is a true gift.

@@3eugenee Thanks to you, I will make a video in the future about how I trim a wig on myself. For now, I suggest to trim the length on your head - just the front - each side of your face. That will become your guide for the back when you have the wig on someone else/ a head/ anything! The layering in the back you can play with like I did on Debra. Most important to trim on you are the bangs, layering around the face and the length. The rest you can do off your head. Hope this helps! Ro xo

This was so fun…I feel like I’ve visited with my longtime girlfriends. One thing you said Ro, that I can especially relate to and that is, “long wigs aren’t really age appropriate when we get older”. (Much like wearing clothes that are too young). But I’m thinking Candace is the perfect choice for us older gals who want to pull it back with loose, trimmed wispies, or wear it solely in an updo. Beautiful cut. I recently purchased my very first Candice and I’m completely in love. My question is would the hot brush help with keeping her off the face? I don’t want to put bangs in her, had them all my life so it’s a change for me. Do love it though.
Thanks Maxine~ with hair that long, like our own hair it's hard to keep long hair off our face when it's so near. I suggest clip a little bit up or up and back or a headband or something cute to sneak a little away. Or, I like to tuck a little of the long bang behind my ears sometimes too! Hope this helps, Ro xo
Happy Monday, Ro! I (of course. . . wouldn't miss it) watched today's Debra and Candace transformation. I want to share my experience of just a few hours ago which perfectly "puncuates/illustrates/proves" what you girls were discussing when/if one should "admit" that "it's a wig." I'm not sure, though, if here is the right place to tell my tale and post a picture. Actually, the BEST place would be on the stool in your kitchen, wine glass in hand, with the camera rolling, but I need to get new tires on my Bug before I can drive out to St. George. Good call on getting rid of those tails... made me thing a bit too close to a frumpy "mullet" I call them. I'm so picky about my hair, I've offended many hair dressers/cutters by going AHH WHY DOES IT ALMOST LOOK LIKE A MULLET!! MY LAYERS!!!

I have been wearing a Jon Renau easihair xl 12" top piece for years in three different colors 24B18S8 shaded mocha, 14/26S10 shaded pralines and cream and 12FS12 Malibu blonde. My hair is a dark blonde and I do not look good in anything too yellow. I really like a monofilament top piece and would love to try one of yours but I don't know what color if any would work for me that you have. Could you please help me with a color choice?

I'm just getting ready to watch this video and I'm wondering if you could create a video on how to trim the wig attached to your baseball caps. I ordered a "short cap" from your website, then returned it because the hair was too long for me. And now I'm thinking, why can't I trim/customize it like I've done (or my hairstylist has done) with your other wigs. I may reorder it if I can feel confident about customizing it. Hi Cian, that's a great idea! Which length did you order - maybe I'll use that cap length! I'd like to share that trimming the length on a wig/piece is not rocket science for a hairdresser - they do it all the time. If you can find a good hair dresser, they can easily customize for you! xo Ro

On many videos ,they using nice brushes ,even now the hair blower ,I am always receiving in black,and I hate black.
When I order brushes they were in owing ,blue,and than I got in black .Hair blower they sent me black too.

Do you have a wig like that only shorter like you're cutting that one. I really don't want to spend money on a wig that I have to spend another hundred dollars to have a hair dresser cut. Makes no sense to me.

I don't know Debra by sight but I love the color of the wig. The hair is too much for her age or maybe any age.

I find it still looks unnatural on a woman her age or maybe it's just the wig on her. Too much hair , the style is wrong for her in my opinion.
