    I’m sitting here getting ready to rebuild my 05 1000rr motor and I’m thinking, “ I totally would have went over and helped take the engine down just for the sake of learning how” I appreciate your content very much brother, thank you. 🙏🏾

      @Jawa_mma thanks man, I still have like 4 videos to put together on this thing. This bike has been sold for a while. I just have sooooo much footage that it is very time consuming to put them together and I like my variety as well. I'm really glad that this is helping people though. If you have any questions, let me know and I will most likely be able to help.

    I finally removed a 2004 SC57 engine. Thanks to you man. At last, all alone just like you.
    I made a number of words talking to the bike while doing the process:
    Sh*t = 19
    Oh C'mon! = 20
    Damm*t = 14
    Please cooperate! = 9
    the F word = 50
    Seriously? = 10
    I'm getting tired man = 6
    You will not enjoy the roads again! don't dare me! = 2
    It's not easy as what the others think. specially if you have limited tools.
    Dang, spun bearing.

    I have 2004 that I recently rebuilt the engine for, due to a spun rod bearing. I didn't monkey around with jacks and blocks of wood. I used bolts threaded into the inside of the rear upper bolt bosses, and used chain slung to each one, with a spreader bar to keep them straight, and attached them to my engine hoist, with a leveler. It's pretty well balanced front to rear at this point. I made a special low slung dolly, with a hole cut in the center for the oil pan to go through, and just undid all the other bolts, and lowered it onto it. I am very used to doing jobs like this, by myself. Also made a special fixture to mount it on my engine stand. It all worked out good. She's back together, and running good as new. Forgot to mention I put it back in the same way.

    Great work the only issue I’m having is I can’t get the front 2 engine bolts to go in they aren’t aligned.I’m talking about where they usually are frame sliders going thru it.I can’t get the bolt in.What did you do to get it in?

    • @The.Odyssey
      @The.Odyssey  Год назад

      I think I wiggled the engine while turning the bolt. Make sure any bolts you have gotten in are not tightened down and fighting, just loosely put on by hand. Outside of that pinch bolts and spacers have to in the right position and snug

    Long story short 2004 1000RR started to make a ton of noise. Turn to the bike off and walked it home. Just finished dropping the motor and found that one of the bolts that hold the cam chain gear on the top end of the motor had come loose and started rubbing up against the engine case. Any idea why this happened? I don't believe it's catastrophic right?

    • @liljandriano
      @liljandriano 22 дня назад

      I scoured RUclips for a engine removal video. And your sir was by far the very best.

    • @The.Odyssey
      @The.Odyssey  22 дня назад

      @liljandriano i think you should be ok as long as that gear didn't let the cam get in an incorrect rotation. Outside of that, locktite the bolt, dump the oil, flush the engine and you should be good. (For metal that was worn off, use your judgement on how much to do here) if you are looking for something to flush with, diesel fuel works well.

    • @The.Odyssey
      @The.Odyssey  2 года назад +1

      @Allfreeshop send the pics to cryptosaulszee@gmail.com. depending on the damage, you may be able to have them bored out and go to oversize pistons and rings. Another option will be to change the case half containing the cylinders with a used good part (assuming your bike is an 07, i dont believe the case half is still available new but can check). Please advise if it's another year. The machine work would have to be done by a reputable shop and may require a nikasil coating.

    Update just got the specific socket I need but since the back is round I put I inside another socket to hold while I try to unscrew. It’s a way too hard and won’t crack so I can remove the last engine bolts. Any advice ?

    • @The.Odyssey
      @The.Odyssey  5 месяцев назад

      Have you loosened the nut on the other side first? I believe that is attached the the socked head (allen head) then this locks the pinch bolt. Might need to be loose first. Another note, when backing the pinch bolt off I recommend leaving the nut on so it's covering the ears of the pinch bolt. I broke one of those on this bike and had to replace it.

      @@The.Odyssey I have a question. I can get my hands on an 06 engine with a blown transmission in exchange for an ar pistol I don't use much. But my blown 05 engine has a good tyranny. Whats the odds I can make that 06 engine work? I mean I've heard people say maybe the ecu will need changed out. Maybe the whole thing will just plug right in. Idk if u would have a clue about interchanging parts or not but I'd sure listen to you over forums.

    • @The.Odyssey

      @@MrGrey-no7sn I did a little digging. There are part number differences on transmission components. Also wiring harness has different numbers. My answer on this question is "2 maybes". Maybe the transmission will fit the 06, and maybe the 06 will fit the 05 frame. Personally I would look for an 04/05 engine to be sure it would work.
