You can Boondock in the desert on any BLM land from Nevada down to Arizona in the winter but you need a sturdy tent and probably a woodstove. Temperatures fluctuate in the desert. It can be 80° during the daytime and drop as low as 20° at night. New Mexico is a great option for the summer because you can move from high elevation in Santa Fe to lower elevation. They have the same kind of deal as Quartzite where you can purchase a state park pass for $200 or more for six months. NM has like 35 state parks to choose from.

I finally got my motorhome out of Idaho, but came north to Washington to see my brother who is retired vet and unfortunately is sick , is being put on hospice now. Sorry don’t mean to be downer , I’m trying to be positive for him . Love your videos and positive attitude, thanks for sharing!

It starts heating up in April. By July… 120°. I would think not. Stay at a higher altitude.

@@jeffrey3498 Some do however the desert wind can fill a tent with sand pretty quick. Of course precautions can be taken.

The only thing holding me back is wondering how much money I should have saved up, and if I can find ways of earning some money while I’m camping. I mean I can stay in the work place and keep saving money before I go camping, or just go camping with the amount I have saved now and just have faith I’ll figure out ways of earning money while camping. I have a good amount saved but it won’t sustain me for the rest of my life.
