FIRST IMPRESSIONS of CEBU CITY 🇵🇭 + Trying FILIPINO LECHON!

- Our first full day in Cebu city! We’ve noticed that the cities show various similarities but also so many differences. Our first impressions of Cebu exceeded our expectations! Since Cebu is the oldest city in the Philippines, we take you to the very beginning - to Colon street which was founded in 1594 when the Spanish settlers arrived. Next on the list was trying out the famous Carcar Lechon! So many of you suggested House of Lechon and that’s exactly where we went! The delicious delicacy did not disappoint! We also tried the absolutely mouth-watering Sisig too! House of Lechon was the perfect place to try out these fantastic dishes! If you haven’t tried them before we suggest you go there for an all round experience 😍 and last but not least is the other side of town called Ayala! A complete contrast to where we first started our day! Ayala is very modern and developed with loads of beautiful buildings and eloquent shopping malls! Endless amounts of upscale restaurants and cafes! We definitely got an all around full experience in our first full day in Cebu! We could see ourselves living here forever! We are in love with this city and our experience so far has been great!
If you have any more Cebu recommendations - send them to us in the comments below 😍

Try SIMALA sir.
@@edezonsuday8287 ❤🌼 yes perfect too.
Cebu offers the complete variety. City life, islands, beaches, falls, mountains, foods etc.
The total package 😍
@@ShevandDev Are you planning to stay longer? you need to experience the other sides (nature) of Cebu. 1 ride from the area where you ended the video, you can enjoy the night view while enjoying your dinner at Busay, Cebu CIty.
Agreee! Im filipino and I love Cebu :)
I hope you guys know that you are really doing a good job. What separates you from most vloggers based in the Philippines right now is the advance research that you do prior to visiting a place or trying something Filipino. It is very informative even to some Filipinos. This speaks a lot about your genuine interest to the country. Add to that your genuine enthusiasm and sweet charm which are very contagious. No wonder you will be reaching 100K sooner than expected. Thank you for everything that you do. It means a lot to us Filipinos abroad who are missing our homes. Good luck and stay safe always.
Wow, you have made our day! Thank you for taking the time to write to us! Sorry to hear you are missing home, but you are always welcome on our weekly adventures! We are so happy to be here and are still learning as we go! Thanks for noticing that, we really appreciate that so much! Hope you can return to the Philippines very soon! Take care!🤗❤
Go to Malapascua bantayan island
😍😍😍
I watch a lot of travel vlogs esp ones to Phil and Thailand and I have to second Guy’s opinion. Your format is very refreshing with your drone footage and establishing shots. As people you’re fun to watch. Keep up the good work
*I miss Philippines I want to go back home!*

jan ka nalang hahaha! joke lang po!
Aw we hope you can return very soon! 🥰🙏
same brother, same and ive watched so many vloggers visit cebu and pass up so many things i wouldve bee lined for and the fact that ive never been there before is excruciating... hopefully all goes back to normal and i can come and visit at last.
Your narration of everything is so clear and very easy to understand! Your editing too was so great and we really love the way you explain every stuff you do! Love you Guys and be safe and stay cool and friendly! Sooo cute !
Thank you for your kind feedback! We really appreciate that!❤
This!!! 💕✨💯
True! I was just about to point that out too!
Hi guys, I'm a Cebuano and I'm from Cebu City. I'll tell you that the longer you stay in this Queen City, know its culture and diversity, the more you'll like it here. Our local people are naturally hospitable, approachable and friendly. There are a lot of cheap or very affordable places, food, clothing and etc if you know where to find them. Good luck, God bless and more power to your channel.
Yes we have really noticed that too! It really has such a wide variety and we are enjoying every minute!😍Thank you for watching Emelio!❤
@@ShevandDev You bet!
This video made me miss Cebu. My husband was from Cebu City, and we lived there for 16 years. It is such a beautiful place where city and provincial life meet. The standard of living is pretty much like Manila, but If you want to relax, you have quick access to the mountains or the beautiful beaches. Thank you for sharing your experiences there.
We are so excited to be here and discover the mountains very soon! Thank you for watching 🤩🤗
Personally, I think Cebu is the best place to live. I like everything is in reach, like big malls in just 15 mins, amazing beaches in just 15mins, amazing food, hotels, and restaurant in just 15 mins, the mountains in just 15mins, a big hospitals are near just in case of emergency, there's a direct flight to many countries, it's like convenience and necessities are within reach. I really love it. I just hope we get to have more parks here in Cebu and it's just gonna be like South Korea. It's amazing really
It really is amazing! Thank you for watching 😍
What an affordable way to get around! 😊That's so nice that everyone takes care of the driver by passing the money along to them. It's also awesome how Filipinos are always willing to offer you help there. ❤️🇵🇭 The lechon looks like a dream come true 😋 I'm excited to see what you are going to do next! Love it guys! ❤️
Hi guys! Thank you so much! The Lechon was truly the highlight - we want too go back for more haha! So excited for the next adventure!🥰🥳
Fun fact: Compared to those jeepneys in Manila, our jeepneys in Cebu are number-coded according to their route (that's why you see numbers like 14D, 01K, 12L, 06B), it makes going around more efficient. Cebu's transitioning to modern jeepneys, called 'Beeps', or bus-jeep hybrids.
Beeps are nice AND convenient but less cultural and boring.. Common..
Yes..love the coding .easy to travel♥️♥️♥️♥️
@@fkoff7649 The new Mango Beep following the Talisay-IT park route has a pretty festive design tho. Modern beeps are an option for commuters who want to stay cool, especially on a very hot day. Wouldnt wanna discredit beeps bc pre-pandemic, I was very comfortable commuting to school during rush hour, despite having to stand the whole ride.
Ikr
w yes we did notice that! They are so easy to travel with and we love that you can hop on and hop off! Its brilliant 😍
Doing it local style! Cebu has plenty of sceneries and adventure places. Chase waterfalls, swim with thousands of sardines, or whale sharks or hike osmena peak, go to sumilon island or bantayan island just to name a few ! Enjoy !
So many things to do and not enough time! But hopefully we will tick as many as we can off the list 😬
I love your videos! Cebu is definitely one of the places you have to visit when you're in the Philippines. You should try going to Busay! It has a lot of different spots you can go to such as Top of Cebu, Balay sa Busay, and West 35. People from Cebu consider it a quick escape from the city since it's a mountainous area that's so close to Mandaue and Cebu City. Also, I just wanna say that I saw you filming this actually in Ayala 😭 That gray car you see passing by as you walk by the Metro store in Ayala is mine! I was so shocked to see you guys filming and was so excited to know that you would be uploading. I can't wait to see your next videos
Hi Lauren! Omg no ways!! What are the chances haha, we call that perfect timing! We would have totally stopped and had a chat with you! next time 😍
Check out Sugbo Mercado night market in IT Park area.
Thanks for the rec! We will check it out!🥰
@@ShevandDev You can also visit Olango Island. Just 1 ferry/boat ride for 20 minutes. Quiet Island to visit with a *Bird Sanctuary* and Telescope to view. (not sure if the season is right for viewing though but you can try).
I am so happy to hear that you can see this as your potential home! 🤩 trust me, you’ll always keep looking forward to see the beauty of Cebu. You’ll get the best of both worlds-a place to enjoy shopping in the city and pristine beaches in the provinces to chill and have fun! it’s just different! People here very helpful and respectful.Been living here for 7 years now 🤗 also Cebu is the center anywhere you’d like to go in every parts of the Philippines 🇵🇭 btw, was drooling 🤤 over the crispiness of the lechon! 🤤Enjoy cebu and stay safe!
Thank you so much! Cebu has so much to offer, we are just loving our time here so much!🥰🤗
and still the best RUclips channel SHEV & DEV you guys are killing it so close to 100k lets go!!!!
Aw youre the best Neathan! Thanks for being our day 1 ❤️
Your story telling is as crisp as lechon, clear as the ocean, thats why Filipinos love it. Just be safe going to places, beware of your valuables keep it to your chest, like everywhere in the world there are always bad people who tk advantage of unsuspecting strangers. There's a lot lot to do in Cebu, enjoy!
Agree..take care always
Aww love that Phrase haha! Thats so kind thank you so much! We really appreciate that😍We will be careful xx
Shev and Dev, if you guys love what you are doing and sharing great adventures in the Philippines, my answer is yes, you guys can live there and continue giving us viewers great stories, like other foreign vloggers living there now. Stay safe and can't wait to see another episodes. God bless

Hi, there are a lot of new vloggers going to the Philippines right now. But i like you guys the best. The energy is so genuine and no pretense. Keep up the good work hope you enjoy your stay on my country.
You are so sweet Katalona! You really made our day, thank you so much! Sending hugs!😍🙏
Cebu is always a welcoming and beautiful city. Lots of fun 🤩 and food to enjoy 😊
Thank you so much 🥰🙏
The nice thing about Cebu is that in less than an hour you can be in a wonderful beach! And there’s so many beaches from ordinary to 5-star resorts to visit!
So much to see and do!😍
@@ShevandDev You are so right! Cebu is the perfect blend of province and cosmopolitan living! Love you both 🥰
Do not limit your trip just in Cebu City, there are more nice sceneries in both Northern and Southern part of Cebu Province.
Enjoy your stay in our Province. :)
Yes we are going to do that😍
my new favorite vloggers are back!!! ❤️💯 try going to TOPS OF CEBU, it's overlooking the city💯💯💯
Your hosting and editing skills are likened to that of a famous international travel documentaries we see on television. Again, nice vlog!
wowww house of lechon was a good choice. i love their lechon. and i agreed the deep fried leaf of kangkong (spinach) was like a chips. happy to see your new vid guys. stay safe!
Once again, I’m so glad that you guys are actually obliging our suggestions and recommendations, because at the end of the day, we just wanted you guys, especially for foreigners as yourselves who’s never been in the Philippines before, to have a pleasant experience. 😉😉😉 I’ve seen other vloggers before and even now who continuously do things their way and then ended up complaining when things go sideways. 🤯🤯🤯
We really appreciate those who have been so kind and have taken time out to help us! It goes such a long way! We do appreciate it! You recommend and we oblige! Haha🤩😬
Cebu is the best place! People are so beautiful and nice. The nature is just a plus! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! Cebu has everything that we love!😍
Thank you for featuring our beloved hometown Cebu!
There's alot of places to visit more.
Enjoy and keep safe both of you! 😍
I am so impressed the way you did your informative vlog...so well done. Thanks !
I was born and raised in Cebu and lived in the States for 42 years, I'm just glad to see you enjoying and having fun. Stay safe and be well.
Wow how awesome is that! Do you have any plans to visit in the near future?😍
We will be in Cebu from Sept. 1 -Oct 4th and back in Florida.
When I saw all the dishes you ordered at the House of Lechon I kept wondering to myself how are they going to finish all that? The food looked amazing. I could imagine it was delicious as well. Definitely if you want to save money, take public transportation which is much cheaper than taking a cab. Just ask for help and tell people where you intend to go and they will tell you which jeep or bus to take.
We definitely had some takeaways! And they were actually so nice to snack on afterwards haha! Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs😍
Shev and Dev, Thank you for Coming to visit the Beautiful City of Cebu. This is where some of the most Down to Earth, Beautiful and Talented Women in the Philippines like, Governor Gwen Garcia, Morisette Amon just to mention a few. By the way, the Spanish/Portuguese Explorer Ferdinand Magellan claimed to be the 1st European to discover the Philippines in March 16, 1521. We the Filipinos Celebrated the 500'th year of Christianization, last year. Don't forget to stop by Fort San Pedro located in Plaza Independencia.
I am very happy to hear you want to live in Cebu, its a good choice. Because from Cebu you can go anywhere in the Philippines easily and to the world!😀😍😄😍
Keep doing your homework on the history, culture, and geography of the different places you are in. The extra information and content in your videos distinguishes you from other travel vloggers.
We are so happy you enjoy that! I guess we are learning as we go haha so its fun to share what we uncover! We appreciate your kind words 😍🤗
@@ShevandDev I agree, the added value makes their vlog interesting and exciting to watch. They deserve the high engagement.
Kumusta, I am Ed and my wife, Luz is from Cebu, we love Cebu and have bought a house in Talisay. Some recommendations, Larison Fiuente BBQ, the Philippines BBQ Capital, Cebu City for a great BBQ experience, go in the evening it is well worth it, also go see SM Seaside Mall. I am from Tx and we are now living on Guam, but go home as often as we can. Love your videos! At a bakery, a must is Pan de Coco, my favortie, especially when still hot. Thank you so much for letting us see Cebu on You Tube, you both are so encouraging!
This is what I love about your channel. You both show interest in learning about the culture and the people. That should help you understand why we live our lives a certain way compared to, say, Manila or another part of the country. Good job guys!
We really appreciate your kind feedback John! Thank you so much🤗🙏
There is so much history.in Cebu being the first Spanish settlement in the Philippines. Have fun in the city, metro and island province of Cebu. Keep on eating lechon or inasal. As always stay safe and healthy. New sub here - a native of Cebu, watching you in California.
congratulations.. roaming in the philippines will never be the same again once you mastered the jeepney transport system
Thanks for sharing my hometown! Cebu has the most diverse food that you could imagine and the best white sand beaches! You don’t get bored in Cebu, it has the lively nightlife, beautiful islands, falls, hot & cold spring, coral reefs, marine life and scenic mountains! I miss my hometown! House of Lechon was my favorite, I remember my first bite too of lechon, it has a different crunch than any other lechon in the country; like Manila, Cebu is a mixture of old and new, i like strolling in the Ayala mall area and IT park as well, will visit again for sure.
As a foreigner who has been living in Cebu for over a decade I absolutely love this vlog. Well done and salamat

It almost feels like a documentary more than a daily vlogs. 🙂 Cool naration though super entertaining.... Keep it up 😉
As always, another excellent presentation. "Daghan Salamat". It means, thank you very much.. 👏👏👏👏👏👏❤🇵🇭💚
Hi guys. In case you are not aware, it is typical and normal here in the Philippines to ask your servers or restaurants to have your leftover foods be packed to go. We are delighted to see that you enjoyed all that you ordered. In case you are tired or lazy to go out to grab food for later then you have something with you. Take care and enjoy!
Oh by the way i've watched a lot of vloggers and you guys are the first i've seen to ride a jeepney!👏
Cebu is the best it got everything from nature to shopping.
Oh yes we agree!😍
I am glad you decided to live in Cebu forever. It really is a nice place and I hope you start your new lives here
To be honest, Cebu is one of the most beautiful places I have visited with rich history and background. If I move to the Philippines this would be my first choice to choose from. there is so much to see and it's only a river ride to Bohol. Manila is great but only in BGC if you choose to live in Manila. the vibe between the two cities is different I feel like Cebu is more layback than Manila.
We agree, you get the best of both worlds in Cebu😍
I'm reriting in Cebu City in 3 years and I can't wait for that in this short life 🙂
@@ShevandDev if you want City life,or Nature, CEBU has it all, try Oslob whale shark watch or Kawasan Falls
@@ShevandDev that's a very accurate description of the province! If you like a city with a laid-back kind of vibes but still equipped with modern-day conveniences then this is the city for you. In an hour's ride, you could go to Mactan Island for a dip in the sea. Or go south and enjoy the country life and nature.
Loved it. What a great place with so much variety. I would love to see places to stay there.
Try to visit southern part of cebu and also the northern part too .. there's more place you can enjoy.. and always ask to the local they will help you where you want to go .. enjoy your vacation at cebu..
Thanks for trying our crispy lechon...I really missed that . Enjoy 😂your holiday. Keep safe
you guys are really having fun and experiencing everything with eyes of wonder. keep it up and on to more adventures!
Aw thank you Miguel🤗
You’ve finally arrived to my hometown, born and grew up in Cebu and missed it for almost 3 years and I finally was able to travel and visit this year. I normally go home almost every one to two years from the US. Studied my undergrad a few miles from Colon. I’m glad you guys did your research before walking and traveling around. Lechon, yum! Have fun and enjoy!
Thank you so much and so happy you could return to Cebu! We hope you enjoy your travels 🥰🙏
I visited Cebu last month, theyve got this fun city island yet modern vibe. Try their La Vie Parisienne in Lahug for great pizza and pasta too. Have a blast guys!

I enjoy every words you utter guys, very inspiring and uplifting words, thank you for the visit in the Philippines, more fun to go how about Davao?
Greetings guys! I really enjoyed your video. Efficient multitasking, as usual, gets to set the contrast of what Cebu has to offer, friendly people, great eats, and most of all great edits. You did it again, you have me glued to the tube. Keep safe always and I am looking forward to your next post.
that's just the tip of the iceberg of what Cebu can offer, hope you enjoy staying in my hometown. .always looking forward to your videos
So much to do and see, we are so excited!😍
Oh! And Ayala Mall! Wow! You are featuring my fave mall too! I'm so much happy! Yey! There's another Ayala Mall and it's called Central Bloc in I.T. Park. About 2.3 kilometers away from this 1st ever Ayala Mall in Cebu. And there's an ongoing construction of the 3rd Ayala Mall in Mandaue City. Neighboring City of Cebu City that is.
Absolutely Loved When Shev Stuck Out Her Head From The GP Ride & Said Welcome To Cebu. Streets Seemed Busy. How Can You Not See The Huge Yellow Sign For Kara's Fried Chicken. Love Yummy Pig. I Could Hear The Crunch From The Pigs Skin. Fantastic From Start To Finish
Thanks so much Drew🤗 We really enjoyed this day! Thanks for always watching and commenting
I followed 12 new foreign couples traveling around the Philippines right now but you two are my favorite. I love your sunny disposition and genuine reaction. I also love that you truly immerse yourselves with our local culture and you make an effort to research and learn about our history. I really wish you publish vlogs on a daily basis. I know that’s a hard task given internet availability and the time to edit, but that would help blow your subscription even more. Anyways, enjoy your travels and keep safe! You are doing a great job!

When you buy Lechon make sure get at least a three plates because it's SOO GOOD! Late Anthony Bourdain voted Lechon best pork in the world he been to different countries try all pork but Lechon is the best 👌! He just LOVE IT with beer. He also loves sisig!
@5:44 that mini bus you ride to SM is the "modern jeepney".
It tends to replace the traditional jeepney, phasing out old jeepney.
it looks like a mini bus but locals still refer to it as a jeepney
For some wonderful reason, the litson in Cebu is the sweetest and most tender. Hopefully at nighttimes, the street vendors are out again and grilling freshly caught fish 💜

Hi Shev hi Dev you're both lovely and welcome to Cebu. I really enjoy your vlogs. Aside from exploring the South of Cebu for Canyoneering, for Sardine run, Swim with the whales, climbing Osmeña peak, or Waterfall hunting, etc., and North of Cebu for the Cebu Safari, Bantayan island, Virgin island, Malapascua, Camotes, Mt. Kapayas, etc. It is highly recommended also to enjoy the beauty of the City. enjoy the food like Cebu de lechon or inasal or litson in local Cebuano language which you did, also try Sutukil, kinilaw, seafood, Siomai, Danggit, Chorizo de Cebu, Dried mangoes, Otap, chicharon, Puso rice and eat it with litson/inasal, barbecue, etc.. In the City visit the Magellan's Cross, the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño Church, the newly built Santo Niño Chapel behind the City Hall, Lapu-lapu shrine in mactan, sm seaside city the 3rd largest mall in the country, the Ocean Park next to sm seaside, take a glimpse of the CCLEX or the 3rd Bridge the longest, the tallest and the most sophisticated Bridge in the country, Ayala terraces & roof top garden in ayala center, Sugbo mercado in IT park. Experience overlooking City view visit Blue Elephant sky lounge, Blu bar & grill in Marco Polo plaza, and Verified lounge. Then check out the mountains side or uphills side of Cebu City and visit the Taoist temple, Temple of Leah, Sirao gardens, Tops Lookout, Top of Cebu, La Vie in the sky, and many more. And ofcourse The Mactan-Cebu International Airport Terminals 2 itself is a piece of art and has won prestigious international awards like the 2019 World Architecture Festival was held in Amsterdam. Cebu lives up to its moniker as "The Gateway to a Thousand Journeys." There isn't a shortage of explorations to do in Cebu. Cebu offers a unique travel experience as it is a place where the city and paradise meet. Explore and enjoy the beauty of Cebu. The Queen City of the South. Be safe and God bless.
I miss my home cebu city😭. Thanks for bringing me back home
I figured that everyone else will comment on the feast you had so I will talk about Cebu's deep secret. You went to Colon Street which is the oldest street in the Philippines. Cristobal Colon is the Spanish name of Christopher Columbus. Cebu is the legendary city of Sheba, as in Queen of Sheba...which is the real reason why Magellan chose to plant the cross there and claim the islands for God and Spain. Obviously, they didn't come for the spices but for the gold. The story behind the Yellow Brick Road is based on Cebu and its wealth and the basis for the story of the Wizard of Oz. Filipinos have the most difficult time believing in this legend because we have been through centuries of pain and suffering under the Spaniards. As Christians, Filipinos wonder why God had punished us if He actually loved and cared for His people. So there...let that all sink in!
Thank you for the info! Really awesome and interesting facts, we really love that!🤗
Thanks for visiting our country. Filipinos really love when people from different countries visit us and especially make these videos about our country and culture. I love your way of making videos especially when you guys walk in the street. Keep safe guys. Hope you have a great time with us and you feel at home in our country.

I recommend that you did. Like i said, CEBU is the best combination of city and island life in the country. Or per your experience thus far, metro manila in the middle of palawan. Less the pollution, cost and congestion of manila. How can you top that? lol
And, gateway to other top destinations in phl and other parts of the world (they have an AWESOME international airport)
We love that there is so much to do and see here in Cebu!🥰
That's great that you had fun strolling around Cebu City. But you should've visited Basilica del Sto Niño since you were in Colon. Go to SM SEASIDE as well.
