Many of the devotees who have trickled into Ayodhya claimed that the pran prathistha is either a stepping stone for the establishment of a Hindu Rashtra’ or a Hindu state has already been formed. Asked to explain, they pointed to the state machinery’s involvement in the grand ceremony and the announcement of a public holiday in several parts of the country.
The priest who led a special chariot from Lord Hanuman’s “birthplace” in Karnataka told Newslaundry that it’s obvious that India is already a Hindu nation.
However, Paramahamsa Das, a mahant from Ayodhya who had earlier announced a fast unto death for a “Hindu Rashtra”, said the Constitution has to be changed to make this demand a reality. Nagpur resident Karthik Doke, on the other hand, said India will only become a Hindu nation once the saffron flag replaces the Tricolour.

In this Modi era, I have started to feel threatened even from my closest Hindu friends and colleagues. Can't fathom what these people are saying. I grew up as hindu and never had to hide my birth religion (hinduism is and was never a religion) anywhere. I went to school with muslims, had a muslim boy as a close friend during school, did higher studies with muslim students, and now have a few colleagues who are muslims. Never ever I felt threatened or was made to feel insecure or lowly about my religious identity. Where are these people coming from? What are going to achieve after becoming hindu rashtra? All problems will go away? We will be kind to each other? will we always help each other? will we become conscious about our social responsibilities? we won't through garbage on the road? Not urinate in public places? treat women respectfully? not laugh at people with disabilities and for their outward appearance? ......unemployment will go away? and finally and most importantly, will we become good human being?

Those who have read hindu temple architecture know that during ram rajya (kosala kingdom) and even during vedic period, worship of deities took place through rituals, yagna etc. There were no temples untill the Gupta period during which the temple culture was introduced and at its peak. When Ram himself didn't bother much about temples, we the Kalyug people do much hukka over it. And by building a temple for Ram we think we have done a great job.
