Woodturning | a two tone sequoia vase

I turn a two tone sequoia vase from a branch. This is the first time I work with sequoia wood or redwood and I find that the contrast between heartwood and sapwood is absolutely stunning. So in this video I concentrate more on colours than shape. The wood is a little brittle but hard enough to turn well with caution and the grain is amazing. Now I'm not sure that I want to sell it... ;)
Je tourne un vase bicolore en sequoia. C'est la première fois que je travaille ce bois et je trouve que le contraste entre le bois de cœur et l'aubier est stupéfiant. Donc dans cette vidéo je me concentre plus sur le rendu des couleurs que sur la forme. Le bois est un peu fragile mais assez dur pour bien être tourné si on fait attention et les dessins du bois sont incroyables. Pas sûr que je le mette en vente... ;)
