DIY How to Fold $2 Money Origami Graduation Cap & Diploma - Dollar Origami Graduation Gift Idea
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 30 апр 2014
- In this tutorial, I'll provide instructions on how to fold a $2 money or dollar origami graduation cap & diploma. This dollar origami graduation gift idea requires 2 dollar bills and is a perfect surprise for a graduate.
If you're giving money as a gift, this project is perfect for you! The best part about it is that it does NOT DESTROY the value of the currency in any way. So, fold away!! :-)
P.S. I know that there are other ways to the fold the graduation cap, but this is MY OWN method of folding it.

I am watching this TEN YEARS later and it was so helpful. I love how the mortar board and diploma turned out for our granddaughter. Thank you so much. Excellent tutorial!
@@lauriegelo8094 You’re very welcome! I can’t believe it’s been 10 years. 😂
Omg it turned out great I Made this for my sister hopefully it will make her feel better with her graduation postpone
brisa martinez me too!!
I folded it! Very clear instructions! I like how you pause at the end of the more difficult steps and show it from different angles. I'm going to try to do that more in my tutorials. Notice the four flaps inside the hat... I just discovered that if you fold these four flaps apart, you end up with a secret George Washington picture frame, and, for extra kicks, you could insert a picture of the honored graduate! Folding these flaps apart also helps lock the hat to the big square top.
Peek-a-boo with President Washington. :-) Yeah, I like to give different angles of the folds. I'm sure there are people who think it's annoying and too "slow," haha. Can't satisfy everyone. :-)

Wow! Perfect speed and directions. I was able to follow right along with you. Thanks so much.
Yay! Glad to hear :) Cheers to the lucy grad getting money as a gift hehe.
Thanks Jenny, I'm going to do this tonight for my gf's graduation tomorrow. Hope she likes!
+KJ6182 That's so nice of you! Congratulations to your gf! Hope she likes your gift to her.
Jenny W Chan - OrigamiTree.com She loved it! You're awesome, if we have a daughter we're naming her Jenny!
I like this tutorial the best for making the cap. For mine, I used a tiny piece of tape to bring those loose ends together.
Also, made a tiny hole in the center, made a knot in the embroidery thread, brought it through the cap to the top...tied again & cut the thread like she did. Looked real pretty. I also use the school colors for my graduate cap.
Great instructions! And so cute! Much better than just a plain flat bill. Thank you!
I have will be folding $80.00 $1 dollar Bill's for 2 different people for 2 different reasons. So far your video has been the easiest to understand and follow. Thank you and keep up the hard work. Lynne
Loved this! For my daughter's friends, I made these and put them in a Chinese food container from the $1 store with some school-colored crinkle paper. Then I ordered some 'custom' fortune cookies with motivational, college-related fortunes, and decorated the outside of the box with a bow and their name! Perfect gift, and I could determine how much $ I wanted to give. Thank you!
+Dana Ulrich Wow! Those are such clever ideas. Your daughter, and her friends, are so lucky to have you! :-) Is your daughter graduating this year? If so, congratulations to her.

Aw, same to you.. I never get replies lol She's graduating from 8th grade :)
you just got a new subscriber ❤️🎅
Use two short twist ties to hold the square of the cap together! Push them through inside that fold (just like you first suggest with the thread) and then you can bend the four corners and make the square super secure!
Twist ties are a great idea!
I Tie a knot in my needle and bring it up under the center of the cap through the top do it three times the glue the knots to the underside of the cap. No one sees it and the tassels in the center of the cap
Hope this helps from one folder to another awesome job

Did anyone else hear thecat in the background meowing at 6:23
Yes, there is a cat in our apartment, hehe. She likes to meow during the video sometimes. :-)
Cool I wish my cat was still alive
I love this cap and gown and the instructions were so good. I bought embroidery thread the color of my grand daughter's school colors for the tassel and tie. It was so impressive. lol Also I used just a small piece of tape to pull the two ends together to keep the square look on the cap part. Hope that made sense. Made a very cool gift. Thank you so much.
Mary D Posey Congratulations on your daughter's graduation! Glad you were able to make the cap and gown. And yes, taping the ends together makes a lot of sense! :-) Hopefully, you'll have some time to try out some of my other tutorials, too, and share with your friends. That would be so helpful and make my day! :-)

Is this your own idea? If it is you are very talented. And if it isn't than you are not talented. KIDDING!! It is all a joke. You are talented anyway! I love you! After I watched this video I subscribed to you right away!
:)
Aww, thanks!! The "idea" is not new, but I came up with the design/diagram. Glad you liked it! Are you making it for someone who's graduating? :-)
I am making it for my brother. He is graduating today actually. I think he will love it! Thanks to you!
:)
how do you present this gift? I was going to make a money lei but running out of time!
Ideally, it would be placed it in a shadow box picture frame. If not, then a glass box/jar or something like that. :-)
I don’t know if I’m the only one that commented on the year 2018. If I am, please reply to this comment! Thank you!
