Progress is progress. Love that. It’s so easy to get down on yourself when things don’t go according to plan, but progress, even small progress, is the important thing

Congratulations!!! You are very brave for going on this journey of self-employment. I really appreciate how you put out these short daily videos of encouragement and perseverance. I will miss those when you get rich and famous but I wish you all the wild success you can imagine and even more! 😊

It's surprised to hear you say you were "burned out" and "not feeling fulfilled" with fiver. I feel like, if you edited and you edited a book that went mainstream, you'd feel unbelievably accomplished.
When I published and got onto audible, I worked with an editor and the team effort felt much better and provided a stronger product vs solo.

I’ve loved some of the projects I’ve worked on, I was just taking on too much

You are such an inspiring person, and you so often display the exact tenacity I aspire to. I remember watching one of your earlier videos and you talked about trying to overcome a scarcity mindset, and I was tearing up because of how familiar your concerns felt to me, so much so that I was getting emotional watching you overcome them. I'm cheering for your successes, and wishing you the best!

So happy to see that going self employed is really working well for you!
I can’t wait to see how things go from here for you and it’s incredible to see how far you have already come from when I first started following you (many years ago!)
You probably already know this but you should be proud of what you have achieved and it is very inspiring for someone like myself who is on a similar journey.
I’m sure you will smash those short term and long term goals! 💜

Do you think you’ll make a video based on Fiverr and how you’re successful on it? I’ve been wanting to get started on it and would love to see how you’ve been able do well enough for it to be a main source of income😁 thanks for this video, as someone who also wants to be self-employed, this was really helpful!

Make an account! It’s important to just start. Start with your prices lower to get reviews and ratings and practice and then raise them slowly. Ask for people to leave reviews :)

I notice people use fiver instead of upwork, would you be able to comment the differences or why you prefer fiver?

    • @SaraLubratt
      @SaraLubratt  11 месяцев назад +1

Fiverr is easier for people to find a seller with a set price, on upwork, sellers have to apply to a listed gig for a price set by the buyer. Upwork gives you 15 connects a month I believe, an applications take about half of that and then you have to buy more, finding people on fiverr is free. Fiverr takes 20%, upwork takes 10%

Congratulations on your self employment journey going well & I truly believe this was just a sign that this is supposed to happen.
I'm so excited to see you doing well but also staying cautious.
Even though Fivver burned you out, you knew your limit and changed direction. That's so important to be able to learn mid-experience and use that to adapt.

Have you thought about more writing outside of your apartment since you seemed more dialed in at the writing group? Or is that just at writing group and like your apartment wherever you are you need to do sprints? Glad things are going well for you, keep it up.

I want to do a writing experiment where I write out of my apartment every day for a week to try that out!

Sara thank you for sharing your journey from traditional employment to full-time author. It's enlightening to see your diversified income sources and the determination you have.
Your honest discussion about Instagram and RUclips income streams provides valuable insight for others considering a similar path. I certainly don't think i have a "self-employed" spirit in my body YET lol I am very much happy with my 9-5 which is okay. I know our society makes this seems dull and dreamless but it's working with my goals right now. I anticipate if I ever take that route with YT or IG, it is good to know your insight on it.
I think being freelanced has some challenges: the freedom, time management, content creation, and your commitment to balance and self-care...i mean all that in one, who can blame the overwhelmingness of it all!?
I do love though that ultimately, you have the drive to make writing your main income source and that is inspiring! Looking forward to your podcast and your career progression. Keep shining!

Not sure if you’ve read the “outlander” series or if it interests you, but i came across the “outlandish companion” and found it a helpful tool as the author goes in to her processes in character development - even astrological charts - historical research and where she finds inspirations. worth checking out.

Im trying to be full time with my social media along with some other self employed jobs but I’m also trying to move out. How did you switch to self employed with an apartment if you didn’t have any monthly income to tell them? Would you consider doing a video if your comfortable about all of the background stuff you had to do in order to go to full time?

I WOULD LOVE THE CONSULTING THING. I would immediately be in, almost regardless of my financial situation (which is improving, even if still not quite what it is for the average American person)
