What she said re: getting out of debt. I had the $ in the bank and, for months, debated whether to invest or pay off my mortgage. Despite what the "experts" advised, I walked into the bank on Saturday, September 13, 2008 and paid off the balance of my mortgage. Two days later, while waiting for a flight, I saw on CNN that Lehman Brothers was imploding. I was within hours of losing everything I had saved for years sitting in the money market fund. I know that was God's messengers guiding me, and I can't express how much sounder I have slept for the last 16 years being debt-free.
I am blessed every day to wake up on top of a mountain. Total silence. God's creatures everywhere munching on green grass as the sun rises. At peace knowing all my life is in order and I am a Child of God.
I am a single, strong 69-yo woman who is living vicariously through all of you country folks. You are blessed! I’m also blessed to have friends who live rural and I can visit their “heaven on earth” homesteads. However God has me planted in town although I long to live in the country. I still do many Homestead type chores with a garden, food preservations, manually mill flour for bread, water encatchments and a plethora of other skills and I teach others to be prepared. Most importantly I pray Psalm 91 over my home and property and put on the Armor of God daily.
We abandoned the swirling toilet of Philadelphia 10 yrs ago when we saw the political climate closing in on us. We paid cash for a charming old farmhouse hundreds of miles away on a remote mountaintop with a little bit of property. We paid off all our debt. We built a greenhouse. We planted a fruit orchard, we planted an acre of vegetables and berries, we taught ourselves simple repair skills. We raise animals. Our property abuts the state game lands. We hunt and fish. We often go for days without seeing another human. I highly recommend.
We moved from the outskirts of a large city 10 years ago. Our house was around 5,000sf…too big. We bought a 2,700sf house with land. Now, after 10 yrs we have small vineyard, orchard, gardens, and greenhouse. We have chickens and meat rabbits. Happy as a clam!
I have property everywhere, on golf courses in Fl., I have a cottage in Italy. But I have a little shed cabin near my hometown in WV on the side of the mountain and this is where this coal miners son wishes to take his last breath. If the world collapsed around me, this is my heaven.
We have 10 acres with nothing but cornfields across from us. Just a few neighbors on our road. For almost 30 years it has been quiet and safe. We wonder how long that will last now. I thank God everyday for this blessing.
I had the same experience at the end of 2019... a very strong voice telling me GET OUT!!! GET OUT!! and when I asked why? what? You have to get out, BIG THINGS will happen next you, you can't be in this house.... I followed the voice, the gut feeling, I left the house I have been for 10 years, left the NARCISSIST with whom I was living with... when lockdowns came my friend told me: can you imagine being in lock down with HIM in the house?!?!? yup that voice at the end of 2019 was VERY strong
We did exactly what you are recommending in 2021. Sold our home in Southern California in one day at 50k over asking price. We moved to Utah and were able to pay cash for our new home and pay off all of our debt. Best decision we ever made.
I've been reading all the stories about you all moving to rural areas, and how satisfied you are now. My husband and I moved from S. Houston to Gilmer TX in 2021. Where we lived before was only 20 minutes from downtown Houston. There was constant traffic on the road where we lived. Now we have a nice little brick home, with cows across the road as neighbors. We are very happy here and wouldn't move back to Houston if you paid us.
We left Michigan and moved to North Dakota. After what that governor did during covid, we had to get out. She was overly extreme, and still is. She sees herself as queen of that state.
Gretchen is terrible. We talked about moving back for retirement (I grew up in MI) but have since changed our minds. Considered North Dakota actually - or if back in MI, the UP only.
Had an outhouse when I was a kid too, me and my husband are the only ones we know in our age group who had an outhouse when we were kids. I do love indoor plumbing😃😃😃
I grew up in a stick home. There were eight of us in a three bedroom, one bathroom home. There were mom, dad, grandma. Then five of us kids. I don’t remember any issues growing up in that home. I was born in 1953
Hi from Tasmania, Australia! We did this! We could see the writing on the wall! Sold up, bought another property and are debt free! No car payments, mortgage repayments or credit card payments! Best decision ever!
I bought my place in 2020 . I was basically in the middle of 10,000 acres no neighbors for 6 miles other direction. Now I have a minimum of 100 new neighbors. Everyone is from out of state . I consider myself fortunate that these neighbors are good like minded people.
The USA citizens migration wouldn’t be so bad if they would leave their politics in California etc. They do not need to try change us to what they left‼️
I've heard these exact words more than once in my life: "Change your life now!! Get out of (fill in the blank)". Twice the blank has been "this house", once it has been "this relationship", once it has been "this job". In my favor with blessings each and every time. ❤
I've listened and I've prepared. We are debt free and saving. My 79 yo husband thinks I'm a nut for all the food and items I've put up. I've been wanting to move for over three years now. Can't get out of here because he believes that Channel 4 wouldn't lie to him. Nothing is wrong with the economy or the psychopaths running the show.
Your speaking to choir here. We had a beautiful country 3300 sq ft home with inground pool in a subdivision sold it 2017 for top dollar. Move to 1800 sq ft, geothermal unit (which is a major blessing) with 8 1/2 acres. My husband misses the huge house but I don’t. I now have lots of raised beds with great garden, chickens, compost piles. I’m on top of a hill & love it. God has blessed us!
My family moved from WA to Missouri, we miss the mountains and water but Washington State has been ruined by liberals.... We love Missouri, it's exactly what we wanted!
I was in WA State too near Auburn, left in 2020 after the Chaz thing happened and came back to my family in Texas. God has put it upon my heart to move to Missouri as well, been looking at Texas County. Your words are very encouraging 🙏
I had the opposite happen, had a contract in for a house further upstate and God told me not to do it, then I had a contract in for a condo near me , when Val at work said whats going on wasnt gonna say then God said tell her so I did. She had lived in the condo above and said that her toliet overflowed and went thru the downstairs celing. God told me to stay put. I have well water. woodstove. Septic system. 1 1/2 acre. & next to state park. My 2 younger are in the city renting. I need a landing for them. I am glad I stayed. Every day I thank God that I am able to mantain and love where I am.
It’s sickening to see how greedy people are. I have watched people sell family property to developers, after the elders pass away, for years now. I’m just happy no one can get any closer to my house than they are now. The landscape is changing and not for the better. I live rural in a tiny house. I can’t sell because I’d also have to buy something. I would love to get even further out but I’m gonna have to tough it out.
Our favorite peach farm sold the property to their children so they could carry on the family tradition… they turned around & sold the property to developers… And they bulldozed the peach farm!!
Peace of mind is PRICELESS!!!!!!! Sold our golf course pool home in the Tampa, FL area and moved to a tiny little Indiana town where we paid cash for a little 52 year old modest home that had been renovated and sitting on a little acreage. Only 1 neighbor within sight, out here amongst the cows, chickens, geese, etc and couldn't be happier!! Hoping to plant a garden of our own in the spring, we have a large pantry stocked up, very limited debt, and prepped for the worst, but praying for the best! I don't feel there will be an election, pretty sure "they" have something nefarious coming down the pike, but even if we do, there's no way they will handover power. I'm just seeing Biblical prophecy being fulfilled day after day and keeping my eyes on Jesus!! "I'm doing the best I can, honey!" Keep on doing what you're doing Patara, and God bless you and this community!
I’ve been moving farther and farther “out” for over 30 years. Every area I move to explodes and then we move farther out. We finally moved to bonafide rural. Now it’s exploding here too and I’m out of moves.
You are very blessed that James supported your vision. I was convicted about 5 years ago that we needed to move to a higher elevation. He is against the idea because he says we are too old to move. I pray on it daily, it is not a financial issue. I think he is worried about the physical improvements that may be required as well as being close to medical facilities.
Being close to medical is a real thing. Where the heck you looking to move? Many mountain areas have plenty of medical right there or nearby (especially if there’s skiing). But some don’t. If you just want elevation, heck Denver is flat as a board and 6,000 ft?
The election outcome will determine if we stay in this recession for a short time once Trump takes office, or if we nosedive into a deep depression with Kamala. I am praying that people have their eyes and ears open.
We live on a one lane dead end in the middle of nowhere east Texas, surrounded by thousands of acres of cattle ranches. The nearest town is 1700 people and we drive over 30 miles to towns big enough for a box store, and an hour to a city that has major shopping and restaurants. We are retired and love the peace and isolation and land we have for the horses and hay production. The safe feeling is worth the small inconvenience of driving.
If you move to a red state such as TN or NC (my state)from a blue state, PLEASE vote red! Do not bring your failed liberal policies to our wonderful red states. We don’t want to be like your awful blue state. We like low taxes, low crime, and patriotism.
Retired military family stuck in Fredericksburg. Been praying about a move. We have no community or family around us. The struggle is real! Where to go!
In 1995 my wife talked me into spending $141,000 on a 2400 sq ft. Brick home in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Now these homes in my subdivision are touching$600,000. I knew my wife was smarter than me!
We were set to move to Murfreesboro a couple decades ago. My daughter wanted to attend MTSU. But all plans halted when the mayor chose to allow the construction of a super mosque. We cancelled our plans.
We moved to our 1946 farmhouse with 9 acres. We left Clinton ( just outside Knoxville ) last year to Speedwell ! Near the Cumberland Gap . Working on our homestead and homeschooling my youngest with autism. I got that urge or push from God in 2021 to move and we are trying to learn what my whole family once knew. I was born in Knoxville raised in Clinton and the farming was lost to me even though my mom grew up in Strawberry Plains without running water and electricity. I sm working on teaching my other children including my youngest about prepping but most of all about trusting Jesus! God bless you and your family and thank you for teaching us what youve learned!💖🙏
I grew up in a subdivision and the home for so close to each other that you could see in each other's bedrooms and hear everything that went on. I absolutely hated it!
Housing prices through the roof bc Black Rack has been working with real estate companies. They offer large amounts of $$ to buy your house , more than its worth ( think Zillow) and jack up the market. Then people get all excited thinking their homes are worth more, not realizing that Black Raci and Yellen are also trying to pass a capital gains tax, meaning they want you to pay taxes on the increased price of your house. Everything is a game folks, a well strategized game.
I couldn't live on top of someone else if I had a house. Those are cookie cutter homes. Too close for comfort. Living in an apartment? I expect close neighbors.....but, IF I had a house? I'd want a big yard, a garden and space for critters.
Absolutely. I'm 74 years old and live on 16 acres in Southwest Louisiana. I would live in a subdivision if I had to, but I feel like I would cry everyday. It's not to insult anyone who likes living like that, I just would mourn country life.
@@ElaineTheeiot-zm3ul I'm in a sub-division. I have an acre, my neighbor has two+ acres. Plenty of room to garden. Huge fenced yard for the dogs. 160' water well. I would love 100 acres, or 10, but $s and age have probably made that impossible.
We left Nashville because of the out of control growth, moved to the mountains between Greenville SC and Asheville NC. Surrounded by apple orchards and national park land.
I can't downsize anymore. Have 850 sq feet on 6 acres with great neighbors in my home state of Maine. Idk how people are surviving right now!!! Praying to God for strength!!!
We felt trapped in Charleston SC but after my mom passed away sold and headed for upstate. Our neighborhood is full of mature trees and a lake and room to breathe. I think it should be against the law to devastate a forest for massive developments
God is great and faithful. People are afraid of losing their conforts sometimes that it clouds their thinking. Personally, I'd rather live in an rv on a quarter acre than live with a mortgage. We live in a tiny home. No regrets.
When we moved to our old country farmhouse 20 years ago, there were 2 other houses out here, one of which we couldnt see from our property. We had cow pastures all around and I loved it. Lots of houses, double wides now since land was sold all around us. Thankful for our few acres so no one can build right on top of us.
My husband and I sort of downsized in 2016. We went from a two story house on one acre of land, to a one story house on a half acre of land. We’re getting older and my husband wanted a single story house, and I wanted a small yard. The house is the same square footage as the one we moved from. We don’t have any privacy in the front yard, which doesn’t bother us, as the neighborhood is very friendly. We do have a very private backyard due to thick trees on each side of the house, and no back neighbors. I’ve lived in several houses over the years, and this one is my favorite. Keep in mind, as we get older it’s much harder to maintain a big yard. Our current house is exactly what we wanted. Hardwood floors, fireplace, three bedroom, two master bedrooms…. Both having master bathrooms. Ours is elderly/handicapped accessible. My daughter has the other master bedroom which has a bathroom with a large tub as well. We also have a third bedroom. We have a third bathroom….just a half bath for company. Combination large kitchen dining room. Kitchen has large island. Dining room is also large. Laundry room is also located on the main floor. We have a garden in the back yard, and no back neighbors. There’s about a 1 acre lot behind us that the builder can’t build on. It’s preservation area. There is no where to even put in an access road to it, so if I asked the builder if I could expand my garden on that land, I’m sure it wouldn’t be a problem. Yes, I live in a beautiful cookie cutter development. There are probably 10 different style homes the builder designed, and many other styles designed by the owners that had them built. When I was younger, I would have loved having an old farmhouse and several acres of land. Now that we’re older, I’m thankful not to have a house and yard that requires a lot of maintenance. ❤❤❤ blessings to you!!
Would be overjoyed to find something like this for myself---I foresee my 87 year old father 'becoming my roommate' within the next couple of years . . .
100% Patara, we have often been asked why we don’t have a bigger house, go on more trips, drive fancier cars etc. what people don’t realize, is when the Big C happened and then everything that is going on in the world right now, we have not been effected. We have stayed steady and we now have no bills, our mortgage is paid off, we are debt free!! We both have what is considered an essential job, me a nurse and husband in management in trucking. I retired a couple of years ago, however I work one day a week as a casual, to keep my registration, should the time ever come that we need to go back to work. Keep up the great work and prayers and hugs to you and your family!!
Our house is too big for 2 people , but we had a grandson move in , decided we need all this room ! 😊 happy he’s here ! Helps me a lot. We live rural, but have good neighbors! Mostly they are family,
Welcome to what has happened in the smaller cities in Florida esp over the last 4-5 years. We got a massive migration and now development is destroying the wilderness and rural arreas. So much so that I am looking to move from the town I grew up in. With the way inflation is going and me near retirement I can't afford to live here anymore in south florida. May end up in another country. My advice is put the heat on your representatives to pass growth containment laws.
I agree! My neighbor built 2 extra houses on his property for his sister and daughter. I've been thinking about building a small house on our property for my son. He pays $2200 for rent now and it is so aggravating to me, ridiculous. We just moved to our home 3.5 years ago and I'm thrilled!
Great important topic and advice!! We just unexpectedly bought a rural small farm and sold our home in the suburbs within 3wks. All by God's design, as we listened and obeyed. Was it easy, no, but Im on cloud nine what Jesus did for us. We LOVE it here and can now be self sufficient, let alone safe.❤
I lived in Knoxville TN for a short time. 1998-2001. I moved back to PA, my hometown, got married, started a family. Around 2015 i decided to take a girl's trip and head back to Knoxville and stay with old friends. OMG, I hardly recognized it. My friends took me around to where I use to work, where I use to live and even where I had once had a vehicle accident because someone pulled out in front of me. I didn't recognize any of these places because when i left, there wasn't many homes. These areas have paved roads, roundabouts and little neighborhoods. I couldn't believe how much it had grown. And every year that I went back, it had grown even more. I was going back every year until 2020 craziness and haven't been back since. I can only imagine how much bigger and crowded it's gotten there in the past 4 yrs. I'll stay up in my little hills, away from people, surrounded by hills and fields thank you. 😂😂😂😂
Patara, I deliver building materials to job sights and it's like that in all of Eastern Tennessee. From Chattanooga, Cleveland, Knoxville, Gatlinburg to Morristown. We're hauling Lumber all over east Tennessee...
Mass migration to NC too! I live in the Piedmont area and houses are going up everywhere and the infrastructure can't handle it. I want to get out so bad but land and house prices are unreal.
Our mortgage, in a cookie cutter neighborhood, is less than the average car payment. We built this house 9 years ago with a 3% rate. Even with impounded taxes & insurance the monthly outlay is $600 less than a 1 bedroom/1bath apartment in our town. We could sell our home for $90K more than we paid for it but then become a buyer in this market. So for our personal situation; we have decided to stay put since we feel that our current home is the best spot to ride out this storm. It certainly does take a sit down at the table kind of meeting though, these times are intense 😔🙏
I had a similar but opposite experience, I wanted to move so desperately. Visited several states & even interviewed for new jobs. And I kept the matter under prayer. Even had several relatives pushing me to quit my job and move. Something…… kept telling me, its not the right time. Every single state i traveled to and considered moving to- would be a nightmare now!!!!! I sit here in awe 😮😢. Im exactly where im supposed to be b/c i was placed here for a purpose. And didnt even know it. Even when times are hard, i can still manage. So no telling if i can or will need to move in the near future, but good for now. And avoided a mess. Very blessed and thankful. 😊❤🙏🏽
In our small rural area we are getting over run. Subdivisions going in everywhere. Small Hse we pd less than 60,000 for 11 yr ago they claim is now worth 300,000. Taxes are outrageous! We are old so moving ain't gonna happen. Just gonna stick it out and pray!
With you. Taxes went up 50% in the last few years. Housing values are lagging way behind the rest of the country, but still crazy to me. Bought in 2000 for $200k. Realtors are always knocking and say $375k now. Way too big for us, but where are we going to go? We're old and need access to medical care, unfortunately.
The same in the Ozarks. Everyone and their brother has moved making housing and land at least double what they were just a few years ago. Locals have absolutely been priced out of their own market. The housing and land has long since only been selling to out of staters who are selling their housing and bringing their cash. Locals can not compete with this. This is happening everywhere.
You’re speaking to the choir! I have been trying to sell my house and pay cash for land and a used mobile home so I can be debt free, and I can build an off grid house for 8 people, maybe more. And the market here in Texas is stupid crazy.
As they say location, location location... It is very important for many reasons. It's good you're making a great effort.... Wish you all the best ....😉
I just bought mine, I found a HUD home in Indiana for sale, bought it, I will be moving there in a few weeks ready to refurbish it, sell it, and buy some land.
@@20greeneyes20 I live in a very desired area, but I'm competing with brand new homes. Mine was completely remodeled but built in 1978. It's hard to compete with brand new.
In 2013 I bought a 100-year-old, 3-story, 5600 sq ft house rural NW TN for $123,000. In this part of the state we’ve thus far been spared the fast growth, which has been fine with me. At night I sit on my big front porch listening to bullfrogs croaking at my koi pond and watching fireflies decorate the air. I keep this place for many reasons, including to offer a safe haven to family members who may some day have need. If my interest rates weren’t so darn low I’d pay off the mortgage.
At the end of 2008, my husband and I both lost our jobs and had to move to NC to find work. Only I was able to find something quickly. It took 3 years before he found a FT position. We stayed there until I lost my job at the end of 2020 and we decided to move back to GA to be near our kids and grandkids. We are in our 60's and are both still working. We make about half the income we did in NC but when we sold our home there we paid off a lot of our debt with the profit and now it is easier to live on less. I really want to move out more rural with more land but it isn't easy at our age to start over. We will wait on the Holy Spirit to guide us further.
You're right! I'm downsizing & renovating, then moving soon. People moving to TN from CA could see $600k home cheap compared to $1.2mil+ there. That's what happened to me in 1997 when I moved from CA to FL. What a blessing. I looked at my move as an adventure with all new places to explore, new job transfer, and new friends. I'm moving to a more rural area of FL to little cottage 1/2 the size of my current home. Letting go of a lot of things. Lightening my load makes me choose wisely what to keep vs donate. Many tough decisions. It was hard in beginning of last year, but now I have processed my emotions and have made peace with it. I'm looking forward to leaving behind a very restrictive and annoying HOA for a less intrusive one. Then, my next step will be finding a homestead with some acreage so I can enjoy a quiet lifestyle. Possibly renting to own as I evaluate areas and best situation before I commit to that in next year or two. Downsizing now from a 4/3 to a 2/2 seems challenging but in a good way. Being around more fellow seniors next is a positive change. I'm very grateful to my church family for help. And for God's guidance and direction during this whole time. I've dragged my feet for 2yrs. Mostly due to health issues and lack of distant family member support. God has provided a great church family locally to be encouraging and helpful instead. Be open to help from others. Yet be discerning. I thought an old friend who is a younger woman was able to help me, but she turned out to be severely in debt and her motives weren't clear. She had so many issues and red flags that I had to halt. When I decided after much prayer and counseling that giving her money to help me was not a good idea, she started ghosting me and wouldn't reply to texts for many days. This confirmed what the Holy Spirit was warning me about her. Trying to stay in contact with her became extremely stressful. I realized I couldn't help her, and she wasn't interested in God. She had a bf whom she was using to help pay her bills. It is very sad when we try to help younger people like they're part of our family. She wasn't a blood relative but kind of like the daughter I never had. I learned some valuable lessons and realized that not everyone wants or needs our help. God may not want us to get deeply involved. Maybe only for a short time or a season. It's very important to know the difference and trust God and His plans for everyone involved. Don't be afraid to move. It can become a wonderful adventure and lead to new friendships and life experiences. God bless you and your journey.
3 years ago, I sold my large home in Coto de Caza (with an HOA) for a slightly smaller home (still in Orange County California) on a horse property in the hills. We now have room to plant an orchard of fruit trees, garden beds, large flock of chicken, and still have plenty of room for other things. God woke me up 8 years ago to all the evils in the world and nudged me to sell and move in order to be in a better position for homesteading. Thank you Jesus!
I listened to God back in 2003 when he said to buy land. I thought ok…investment property. We had been living in southern Cali for years. Bought 18 acres in NM. In 2006, when things were starting to get squirrely in Cali, I told my husband it’s time to go. investment property no more but became our homestead. We have our own well, have raised chickens and steer, have a green house and garden area. We also just bought more land adjacent to our property, expanding our acreage. Our neighbors are far enough away. I have seen in the last few years more people buying what they can put here. I’m very blessed to have listened as we have no payments owed on anything! Debt free, a stock pile and waiting for the crash and the zombies. We count our blessings everyday!
Asking for prayers we've heard the voice to move from the Holy Spirit and to where exactly, we are getting our home ready but my husband got injured fixing the fence and he is still in pain. The adversary is delaying us, and money is tight. Thank you so much for those the Lord put in their heart to pray for us
Thanks Patara for all you do for us. Please stop worrying about the AC in your car making too much noise. Can hear you fine! If someone gripes about it let em complain. Appreciate the truth you tell and encouragement you give. Your sister in Jesus. Love and Shalom 💜
My husband and I have talked about this since I had a very clear and almost prophetic dream (at least it was for me since I’ve seen almost all things in the dream play out in order.) about 3 years ago. I’m not sure how to motivate him to just let go and have a little faith but lots of prayers have went into the idea and hopefully we’ll get there before it’s too late. Don’t give up hope to those wives (or husbands) in the same boat I’m in, we’ll paddle there if we need to lol 😂
Good morning to you! Things are too crazy not to be completely aware of our circumstances. Everyday things seem to be getting worse, and people are either super aware or totally oblivious. Being observant of the area is important especially as we enter into the time change. Leaving work and running to the grocery store on the way home is no longer on my list of things to do. I'll be keeping a cooler, with icepacks, in my car when I need to run errands at lunch, in the daylight!
People don't think about how much these homes are going to cost them in the long run 30 years down the road . The repairs the homeowners' associated fees or lawn care, taxes schools neighborhoods . Tourists traffic , crime all this must be thought about . And think about your bills. Make sure you can afford something in case someone looses a job or get sick.
I have asked my husband to sell, rent for 2-3 years before buying a smaller home in Tennessee. He retires in 3 years. He has refused to sell. He just doesn’t think it’s possible, but I KNOW it’s possible. He doesn’t understand the urgency I feel.
I travel around with my job... I have a small homestead in the middle of nowhere 25 miles from the nearest town....My homestead is literally on a dirt road out in the sticks...It's paid for in full and a small 1 bedroom cabin on it.... If the economy collapses tomorrow and the dollar is worthless....I will retreat to my little secluded homestead and make the best of it.
Looks exactly like our area (Meridianville/Hazel Green AL) Madison County AL with more out of state license plates 😮. The amount of housing development is still going on NOW plus the selling of farmland to developers 😢.
I just was let go from my job for 18 years. I am so thankful that my husband and I listened to the still voice of GOD that this new season “it was time” for us to downsize and that was 2 months before I was just let go from my job so we listed our home on the market. And we already have our home on the market and wanting to move even further out downsize with everything they are doing with inflation and corporations cutting jobs so we can be a lot more debt free so we can survive all this mess. Thank you for all you do 🙏🏻
We moved from Las Vegas Nevada to South Central Kentucky in January 2024. Love it here. Not crowded and beautiful! We are retired and very happy with our decision to move.
Its the same in the greater Nashville area. Crazy how many fields and hills are being bulldozed. Most of the area is putting up cheap townhomes and apartments.
We are enjoying cooler weather in the middle of North Carolina. Patara, I hope you will have cooler weather soon! We would love to move to the NC mountains, and we are looking. Prayers to you and your family and all!
I grew up in a 3 bedroom home with 1 bathroom and 4 generations living in the home ( age ranges 2 years old to 94 years old) Some of the best memories of my life.
God MOVED you! Thank you for this comment!!! ❤️
Praise God
We lost due to Lehman Brothers crashing....My husband had to work until he was 73 to try to make up the lost funds.
wow, im so glad that worked out
Amen!!
I am blessed every day to wake up on top of a mountain. Total silence. God's creatures everywhere munching on green grass as the sun rises. At peace knowing all my life is in order and I am a Child of God.
You are Very fortunate and very blessed. ♥️
I pray for that same thing EVERYDAY! Be blessed.
Amen! Same here!

You are a very blessed person indeed 🙏

I could still fit like 5 of my houses in your current house 😁😁😁😁 but I don't have a vineyard

The older people get the more resistant to change they are. I’ve seen it many times.

Then you take it one step at a time. So it takes longer to do things..well , more time to pray and plan.
Smaller houses are a rarity, but better!
Thank you for sharing your heart.
Patera, you are a light in a dark world. Thank you for encouraging me. ❤️
Woo-hoo! over 523,000 subscribers! Congratulations Patara... and thanks for all you do!
We live in an old part of town . We have lived here 41 years.. there is no country now.. all our farm land is houses.. it is sad..
Love you❤
I listened to God back in 2003 when he said to buy land.
Lovely cool morning from the Georgia Mountains y’all!
Asking for prayers we've heard the voice to move from the Holy Spirit and to where exactly, we are getting our home ready but my husband got injured fixing the fence and he is still in pain. The adversary is delaying us, and money is tight. Thank you so much for those the Lord put in their heart to pray for us
🙏🏼🙏🏼
Yes, think smart and head on a swivel....😉
I heard the call to move 4 years ago. Still sitting here in NH- husband didn’t want to leave.
I moved out of the city three years ago and don't regret it for a minute.
Morning y'all from the Ozarks of southern Missouri.
Ozarks the best place to be....
@@jimholloway9127 Agree !
Wow! Can't believe how many Missouri people on this channel!
I have asked my husband to sell, rent for 2-3 years before buying a smaller home in Tennessee. He retires in 3 years. He has refused to sell. He just doesn’t think it’s possible, but I KNOW it’s possible. He doesn’t understand the urgency I feel.
Honestly, ld try NOT to rent.
Dirt road, and out in the sticks, is heaven !
Looks exactly like our area (Meridianville/Hazel Green AL) Madison County AL with more out of state license plates 😮. The amount of housing development is still going on NOW plus the selling of farmland to developers 😢.
Same in Pennsylvania.
I’m one of those out of state license plates. I just sold in GA and downsized in AL. I’m so glad I did.
I always watch your videos for your positive, practical take on everything ❤️ you are such a blessing
Happening here every where in Kentucky to 😢
Its the same in the greater Nashville area.
